Chapter 1 No way out
Diam tapped the coffee cup. Sitting in the small booth in the crowded diner she felt jittery waiting on her sister. She wore her long jet black hair in a sleek pony tail. This morning she had chose a more laid back look knowing the journey she was going to embark in the following hours. This was her last hour in this smothering city , but she had to say goodbye to her favorite person.
Neff couldn't decide if he was amused or aroused right now watching his mate. Though he was against many of his family's old ways & traditions he was highly impressed when he saw the picture of her. He instantly hired a private investigator to follow her a few weeks ago & the information proved interesting enough.
This was his first time seeing her in person. He could smell her the moment she'd walked into the restaurant. She was beautiful she also came from a highly political family, one of the four alpha bloodlines at that! Two things were throwing him off though first her scent it wasn't strong , secondly her appearance.
He watched the bridesmaid sit down & his beloved smiled deeply as the two of them talked. It almost angered him that she wasn't even willing to meet him before betraying him! He grew bored quickly & texted his men to come in and collect his mate so they could leave.
Diam stood up shocked at the two men standing at the table. " Time to go ." The larger more serious one said. She blinked did you set me up!? The other man grabbed her forcefully pushing her outside as her sister followed her.
It wasn't me! She squealed as I struggled against the man falling to the ground I screamed Yes! You always agree with father! You think I should stay & marry that monster too! Suddenly the door opened and a tall man coolly stepped out his voice booming loudly " Let her go!"
I took this opportunity to jump up he was gorgeous. He was tall with olive skin & squinty deep green eyes. His hair was cut short all around but on top were a few chestnut curls. His eyebrows were angry as he stared at the four of them he snapped his fingers.
The two men both took a step back and Diam realized who the handsome man actually was. He was the person she was running from. He was Evan Delogatto her soon to be husband. He was a second generation big time architect & contractor around her city his family was known for sponsoring many things in her hometown. Usually more nefarious sponsorships like the boxing league.
He stepped closely to her touching her hair he stared in her eyes. He spoke angrily not to her but one of the men , did you touch her? Are you ok? He looked down at me his face softening briefly. I nodded yes shooting an angry look at the guy. He growled lowly I told you to escort her outside not shove her to the damn ground you idiot he said calmly ! My nipples hardened at the way he asked if I was ok.
Suddenly a black truck pulled up he opened the door holding his hand out. I planted my feet looking sadly at my sister as she mouthed " just go." I took a deep breath and took his hand realizing in this moment I had no way out.
