Chapter 1 Aric's Vision

Aric jolted awake, his heart pounding as the remnants of his dream lingered in his mind. The camp was still quiet, the others asleep around the dwindling fire. He sat up, wiping the sweat from his brow. The vision had been so vivid-an ancient prophecy of a great battle, a shadowy figure wielding a sword of light.

He glanced around at his companions. Sir Cedric, his mentor and a seasoned knight, lay motionless, the embers casting a soft glow on his weathered face. Aric's gaze shifted to the forest surrounding them. The Whispering Woods were known for their enchantments and hidden dangers, but they had no choice but to pass through them to reach Eldoria.

Aric couldn't shake the urgency of his dream. He quietly gathered his belongings, careful not to wake the others. The vision had shown him the path to Eldoria, a route known only to the ancient order of the Luminaries. He had to find it before the dark forces did.

He took a deep breath and stepped away from the camp, the cool night air refreshing against his skin. The forest was eerily silent, the only sound the crunch of leaves under his boots. He felt a presence watching him, but he pressed on, determined to follow the path from his vision.

After a short while, a figure emerged from the shadows. Lyra, the enigmatic ranger, stood before him, her green eyes glinting in the moonlight.

"Going somewhere?" she asked, her voice a mix of curiosity and concern.

"I had another vision," Aric admitted. "We need to find Eldoria before it's too late."

Lyra studied him for a moment before nodding. "Then we go together. The path to Eldoria is treacherous, and Malakar's minions are everywhere."

They set off into the depths of the Whispering Woods, Lyra leading the way with her uncanny knowledge of the terrain. Aric couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude for her presence. He had only known her a few days, but already he felt a bond forming between them.

As they walked, Lyra shared stories of the Luminaries, an ancient order dedicated to protecting Eldoria's secrets. She revealed that she was the last of her kind, sworn to guide the chosen one to the city's gates.

Hours passed, and the forest began to thin. They reached a clearing where an ancient stone archway stood, overgrown with ivy and moss. Aric could feel the magic emanating from it.

"This is it," Lyra whispered. "The gateway to Eldoria."

Aric stepped forward, his heart pounding with anticipation. He placed his hand on the archway, and the stones glowed with a soft, golden light. The ground beneath them trembled, and a hidden door slowly opened, revealing a staircase leading down into darkness.

With a determined look, Aric turned to Lyra. "Let's go. Eldoria awaits."

Together, they descended into the unknown, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead in their quest to save Eldoria and the world from Malakar's darkness.

My world revolved around Jax Harding, my older brother's captivating rockstar friend. From sixteen, I adored him; at eighteen, I clung to his casual promise: "When you're 22, maybe I'll settle down." That offhand comment became my life's beacon, guiding every choice, meticulously planning my twenty-second birthday as our destiny. But on that pivotal day in a Lower East Side bar, clutching my gift, my dream exploded. I overheard Jax' s cold voice: "Can't believe Savvy's showing up. She' s still hung up on that stupid thing I said." Then the crushing plot: "We' re gonna tell Savvy I' m engaged to Chloe, maybe even hint she' s pregnant. That should scare her off." My gift, my future, slipped from my numb fingers. I fled into the cold New York rain, devastated by betrayal. Later, Jax introduced Chloe as his "fiancée" while his bandmates mocked my "adorable crush"-he did nothing. As an art installation fell, he saved Chloe, abandoning me to severe injury. In the hospital, he came for "damage control," then shockingly shoved me into a fountain, leaving me to bleed, calling me a "jealous psycho." How could the man I loved, who once saved me, become this cruel and publicly humiliate me? Why was my devotion seen as an annoyance to be brutally extinguished with lies and assault? Was I just a problem, my loyalty met with hatred? I would not be his victim. Injured and betrayed, I made an unshakeable vow: I was done. I blocked his number and everyone connected to him, severing ties. This was not an escape; this was my rebirth. Florence awaited, a new life on my terms, unburdened by broken promises.
