"Ouch!" I cried out as blood ran down my fingers. I had accidentally cut into my hands with a knife while trying to cut the potatoes. But still, a happy smile dominated my lips.

The pain that I was experiencing at the moment was not compared to the torture that I have being enduring over the years, trying to win the heart of Alpha Luke, the Alpha of the Seaside Pack, the largest and most beautiful pack in the city hence its name.

Ever since we got married, he has always been cold towards me, even though we were fated mates. Our marriage was forced because of the relationship that our grandparents shared and because of the sudden disappearance of the one that he loved so much.

He would never even peek a glance at my attempt to seduce him with my see-through dresses. Married for three years but ironically, I was still a virgin.

However, recently, he has been weirdly all-loving. He eats my food now, brought home a gift a few nights ago, and yesterday he smiled at me. He SMILED.

A part of him that I had never gotten to see! I wished I had taken a photo of that moment, to make it into a portrait that would remain in our living room for the rest of our lives.

My heart was on a merry-go-round as I thought about these few days' happy moments. Maybe this happiness would last for us to at least, celebrate our wedding anniversary for the first time in three years.

I sipped a deep breath as I went ahead to set the table. The sight of my work on the beautiful dining table made my heart beep multiple times with excitement. It was all worth it, for my Alpha.

"Now I just have to wait for him to return home!" I peered at the clock with a sudden sense of rising anxiety, my hands clinging to my dinner milk-flowered theme dinner dress.

My heart drummed while I tried to calm myself down.

The sofa supported my weight in waiting for him. The clock grew louder in my ears as I counted every single tick, from seven to eleven and he was still nowhere to be found.

My breath was beginning to get heavy but I assured myself that he was just caught up in pack duties and that was the reason that he wasn't at home yet.

My eyelids became like heavy bricks but I just had to force myself to stay awake. I was never going to forgive myself if he returned to find me drooling.

The door banged with a sudden knock. It was strange since it wasn't locked. But what did I care. I jumped on my feet, first with intense excitement. But then, an intense sense of anxiety washed over me.

I didn't know how he was going to take all of these. My hands crawled into each other and words of prayers to the moon goddess didn't leave my head.

With a long breath, I opened the door and there my Alpha stood, all sweaty. The words that I had practiced in my head suddenly ran dry, immediately I looked at that handsome face that I had fallen for right at high school.

He had grown into a fine young man. His lips that I had never felt before calling but it was one step at a time. I chuckled in my head.

"I. I prepared." I was forcing myself to do the calm, but he stopped me.

I could suddenly feel a strange electric wave running through every living cell in my body immediately from his hands that were placed on my lips.

The whole of my being jolted. There were tears in my eyes at this moment. "Isn't this what you have always wanted? Why are you tearing up now?" I heard my wolf, Rose, saying.

She was ignored for the first time. I had to survour every single one of these moments and make sure that I gave him the best night ever.

I asked for a roof over my head but was rather given the whole world instead. Who in their right senses would reject such an offer?

I grabbed his head like my life depended on it. I had watched a lot of p*rn videos hoping that such a day when the Alpha would have my first kiss would eventually come.
