Chapter 1 Hidden Love

Drew Point of view

I had just stepped out of my bathroom when I heard a knock on my door it was my step-sister. Clarissa, just when I turned to look at her my towel slipped revealing my naked body. I felt her eyes baring into my skin, dad married her mum six years ago then she was seventeen but I pretended not to notice her weird behavior . I know I have a good body that many girls throw themselves on me and I like it. who wouldn't like it'? I can't deny the fact that my sister is gorgeous, exquisite, bewitching and graceful; she's such a beauty.

"Like what you see?" "have you seen enough?' I asked and my sudden question brought her back from her imaginations; she coughs softly in embarrassment.

"I'm so sorry, I'm here because I couldn't get to mom" she said blushing her cheeks red as berry, and I could see right through her lies

She's already twenty-three but she can't stay without talking to her mum a day I mean our mum.

I don't care whatsoever her fantasy about me might be. Well I lie but I need to tell her my mind she needs to stop giving me that look, because each and every time she stares at me, bit her lip which is now her habit whenever we are alone. I lose control of my mind I don't know if it's love or lust, she has an exquisite and curvy figure, she looks stunning and bewitching. Inhaling the fragrance from her body through the thin nightgown she had on, my throat inevitably went parched.

''look Clarissa you need to stop biting your lip and stealing glances at me, any idea you have on your mind I think you better block it out sis, don't forget we are brothers and sisters '' I said trying to look serious, so she wouldn't see right through my lies.

Clarissa Point of view

"Since the first day my mum introduced Drew to me as my brother, I have fallen in-love with him. Each time I see him the only thought on my mind was to be in his arm, who wouldn't want to be in his arm? He has a great body he's alluring, cute, he's a hot guy, he had a defined cheekbones there's no single fat on his body he's just too fit. Each time I see him I get butterflies in my belly, my friends and mum had tried so many times to introduce me to guys but I can't get over Drew I'm always infatuated by him, each time I see Drew bring in a woman I get jealous, and to make it worse the b**ches would keep screaming. It hurts me a lot that I always wish I was the one screaming out his name, I'm sure he's not aware of what happened yesterday because he came home drunk.

Flashback,

"Drew watch your step you know no one is at home yet you come home drunk what is wrong with you'' I yelled at him I was really p*ss*d and happy at the same time, because he came back home alone.

I managed to take him to his room he was telling me how hot I was I helped him change into his pyjamas while I was helping him to change his pants I mistaken touch his d*ck! it felt so good, well don't look at me like that it wasn't intentional so I took a few pictures of his d*ck with my Smartphone before going to my room to sleep. Before I forget I also checked the pictures before going to bed.

End of flashback.

I got caught!

Drew word caught me off guard, I stormed to my room remembering Drew said we are siblings, siblings my foot. Today is Saturday so I stayed in my room without eating lunch like I was so p*ss*d, it was around eight thirty PM when I heard a knock on my door and I heard Drew voice "Rissa come outside and have dinner I'm sorry I know I should not have shouted at you okay, I don't want mum to get mad at me for not taking good care of you'' I heard him coaxing me like a child.

"I'm coming" I said trying to still sound angry when an idea popped into my head, you will find out later, I went downstairs to have dinner and boom guess what he was putting on, and he was d*rm s*xy in those without a shirt I gulped down a mouth full of saliva and sat down to eat my food quietly.

Drew Pov

I decided to watch some videos before going to bed, the AC on and I was enjoying my movies, and here comes Clarissa in shorts and bra, and the shorts barely covered her a*s.

''Hi Drew,'' she said ''can I watch the video with you? I'm so bored since and my friends are offline''

"you sure you want to watch, I asked, unconvinced.

"yeah" she said blinking her eyes innocently just like a baby.

''Sure, go ahead and watch"

Clarissa sure has something under her sleeve this night I can't wait to find out. That was the thought on my mind.

She sat down next to me and was watching the film with me; oh I forgot to tell you its horror movie. In the corner of my eye I could see water droplet on her breast.

I kept watching the film trying to fix my eyes and mind back on the screen, at a jump scare point of the horror movie, she suddenly jumped and placed her hand on my leg, just near my crotch. I felt an electric shock. I got hard, just from the fact that her hand was there.

Instead of removing it when things calmed down, she kept it there, I manage to glance at her from the Conner of my eye a few time to see if she even notice where her hand was and my boner, but there was no sign that she did or is she doing it intentionally? I gently removed her hand from my crotch as I ask if she's okay.

''not really'', she said as she got up and move closer to me.

I spent four hours preparing a five-course meal for our fifth anniversary. When Jackson finally walked into the penthouse an hour late, he didn't even look at the table. He just dropped a thick Manila envelope in front of me and told me he was done. He said his stepsister, Davida, was getting worse and needed "stability." I wasn't his wife; I was a placeholder, a temporary fix he used until the woman he actually loved was ready to take my place. Jackson didn't just want a divorce; he wanted to erase me. He called me a "proprietary asset," claiming that every design I had created to save his empire belonged to him. He froze my bank accounts, cut off my phone, and told me I’d be nothing without his name. Davida even called me from her hospital bed to flaunt the family heirloom ring Jackson claimed was lost, mocking me for being "baggage" that was finally being cleared out. I stood in our empty home, realizing I had spent five years being a martyr for a man who saw me as a transaction. I couldn't understand how he could be so blind to the monster he was protecting, or how he could discard me so coldly after I had given him everything. I grabbed my hidden sketchbook, shredded our wedding portrait, and walked out into the rain. I dialed a number I hadn't touched in years—a dangerous man known as The Surgeon who dealt in debts and shadows. I told him I was ready to pay his price. Jackson and Davida wanted to steal my identity, but I was about to show the world the literal scars they had left behind.

For seventeen years, I was the crown jewel of the Kensington empire, the perfect daughter groomed for a royal future. Then, a cream-colored envelope landed in my lap, bearing a gold crest and a truth that turned my world into ice. The DNA test result was a cold, hard zero percent-I wasn't a Kensington. Before the ink could even dry, my parents invited my replacement, a girl named Alleen, into the drawing room and treated me like a trespasser in my own home. My mother, who once hosted galas in my honor, wouldn't even look me in the eye as she stroked Alleen's arm, whispering that she was finally "safe." My father handed me a one-million-dollar check-a mere tip for a billionaire-and told me to leave immediately to avoid tanking the company's stock price. "You're a thief! You lived my life, you spent my money, and you don't get to keep the loot!" Alleen shrieked, trying to claw the designer jacket off my shoulders while my "parents" watched with clinical detachment. I was dumped on a gritty sidewalk in Queens with nothing but three trunks and the address of a struggling laborer I was now supposed to call "Dad." I traded a marble mansion for a crumbling walk-up where the air smelled of exhaust and my new bedroom was a literal storage closet. My biological family thought I was a broken princess, and the Kensingtons thought they had successfully erased me with a payoff and a non-disclosure agreement. They had no idea that while I was hauling trunks up four flights of stairs, my secret media empire was already preparing to move against them. As I sat on a thin mattress in the dark, I opened my encrypted laptop and sent a single command that would cost my former father ten million dollars by breakfast. They thought they were throwing me to the wolves, but they forgot one thing: I'm the one who leads the pack.

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.

I sat on the cold tile floor of our Upper East Side penthouse, staring at the two pink lines until my vision blurred. After ten years of loving Julian Sterling and three years of a hollow marriage, I finally had the one thing that could bridge the distance between us. I was pregnant. But Julian didn't come home with flowers for our anniversary. He tossed a thick manila envelope onto the marble coffee table with a heavy thud. Fiona, the woman he'd truly loved for years, was back in New York, and he told me our "business deal" was officially over. "Sign it," He said, his voice flat and devoid of emotion. He looked at me with the cold detachment of a man selling a piece of unwanted furniture. When I hesitated, he told me to add a zero to the alimony if the money wasn't enough. I realized in that moment that if he knew about the baby, he wouldn't love me; he would simply take my child and give it to Fiona to raise. I shoved the pregnancy test into my pocket, signed the papers with a shaking hand, and lied through my teeth. When my morning sickness hit, I slumped to the floor to hide the truth. "It's just cramps," I gasped, watching him recoil as if I were contagious. To make him stay away, I invented a man named Jack-a fake boyfriend who supposedly gave me the kindness Julian never could. Suddenly, the man who wanted me gone became a monster of possessiveness. He threatened to "bury" a man who didn't exist while leaving me humiliated at his family's dinner to rush to Fiona's side. I was so broken that I even ate a cake I was deathly allergic to, then had to refuse life-saving steroids at the hospital because they would harm the fetus. Julian thinks he's stalling the divorce for two months to protect the family's reputation for his father's Jubilee. He thinks he's keeping his "property" on a short leash until the press dies down. He has no idea I'm using those sixty days to build a fortress for my child. By the time he realizes the truth, I'll be gone, and the Sterling heir will be far beyond his reach.
