[WARNING; MATURE CONTENT] 'Is my fate this cursed?' ___ Two years after her father, and twin brother died, Emilia Herbert and her family are left with no choice but to move to town as they could no longer cope with the high cost of living.. On getting there, she discovers that the town was dominated by werewolves, a creature she had grown to despise.. ___ Darien Gretta was a cold hearted Alpha who ruled his town with love and care, yet with fear and trembling. Every full moon, he'd absent himself, although the celebration would be held the way it is meant to. Everyone wondered why he does that, and why he doesn't bother finding his Luna. He found out that his Luna was Emilia, a weak, feeble human, and he despised it even more. He didn't want her as a Luna. She was a weak creature, and most especially, she wasn't 'her'. But what happens when he begins to have a strong urge to protect this feeble creature despite having someone else who he had always longed for? What would Emilia do when she finds out that she is the Luna to one of the creatures she loathed? Excerpt... "Get on my back, you stubborn woman". He growled. I shook my head as she limped away from him. His anger boiled within him, evident in his expression, and I felt he could explore at any time. Why does his body, and emotions react to everything that concerns me? Why couldn't he just let me be? "I'm absolutely fine". I replied, although pain shot through my legs. He stood tall, then stood in front of me, his face hovering over mine. "What.. what are you.. doing?". I asked, as I bent backwards as his face inched closer.. As I continued to bend, I lost my footing, swaying my arms in the air. I closed my eyes waiting for the impact of the fall, but it never came. Instead, I felt a strong grip on my waist, pulling me close. I opened my eyes, looking deep into his deep blue eyes. There was something intriguingly familiar about them, but I brushed the thoughts off. His lips caressed my nape, as he whispered "Don't you remember this?".
Author's note: This story is in the first person's pov, that of the female lead. After chapter one, I won't add her name at the top. Also, please be patient with the story as it is part of the plot amd characters development. I hope you enjoy your read!
Emilia's P.O.V
I blinked my eyes for the umpteenth time. It seemed as if a cat cut my tongue, cause I was totally speechless. What's my sister saying?
"We're moving to town?". The baby of the house, Cassie, asked in my stead.
"Yes baby. We are moving to town". She looked at me, expecting me to say something but I could only shrug like it was fine, but deep down it wasn't. It didn't quite settle well with me.
"But why?". Cassie asked. Good question Cassie, just keep stealing the words out of my mouth okay?.
"Cause I don't have any money. Mum is sick and you know...". The 'You know' was dad. She was going to say that dad was late, but she didn't. She kinda didn't want to remind us, but she didn't need to, cause I could never forget.
"So, when are we leaving?". I managed to ask.
"Early the next morning". She replied, staring intently at me, but I looked away.
Early the next morning? Like what the actual fuck? "How would I say bye to everyone?". Great question Cassie, that's why I love you. It seems our closeness has made you start reading what's on my mind.
Cassie was only fifteen years old, but she was damn smart, and mature too, and she was closer to me than anyone else in the house.
"You still have many hours left before the next morning". My elder sister, Dawn tried to brighten things up, but it wasn't working at all, at least for me.
Dawn had been the caretaker of the house ever since we lost our dad and brother in a car accident, and my mum became terribly ill due to the shock. She had been working haywire, trying to pay for our fees, mum's drugs, house rent and to put food on the table as well. I know it hasn't been easy, and I should understand why she decided that we should move to town, but I just couldn't reason with her. This is our home, a place where we built memories, and this was a way of staying really close to my dad and twin brother.
"That means Miley will be coming back?". I asked, and she looked at me, then nodded.
I nodded back, trying to make her believe that I do understand her, but in reality, I haven't still come to terms with this decision. "I'll uh.. go start packing". I said, then walked away, not waiting for her response.
I slammed the door of the room, then ran my fingers briskly on it. I remember when my dad used to carry me out this same door whenever I was sick, or when he would walk in and console me whenever Stephen broke my heart .
Stephen was my best friend, and he still is, but sometimes he can be a jerk. He doesn't know, but I like him a lot, I mean I have a huge crush on him, and I've tried telling him, but it just doesn't go well,, and I'll end up not telling him, so I just let it be. Maybe I'm meant to die with these feelings of mine.
My name is Emilia Herbert, and I'm eighteen years old. I just graduated from high school, and I'm supposed to go to college, but I think this is where my education is gonna end. I have four siblings, I mean I had four siblings until I lost one along with my dad in a ghastly motor accident. Before, we were a happy family of seven, including my mum and dad, but now, we are a family of five, and we are not so happy anymore.
I pulled out my black suitcase and blew the dust off it. I never really thought I'd have to use it one day, and for this totally unbearable reason. I zip it open and throw it on the bed, the luggage bouncing at the intensity of the thrust, and I sigh as I open my wardrobe and begin to take the clothes out. I noticed a green dress, and I separated it from the rest, then take a closer look at it.
This was the dress my dad bought on my sixteenth birthday. When he bought it, I didn't like it because of it's color, so I seldom wore it, but now, I don't know, I wished I had put it on for him and ran about with it, saying 'Hey world, my dad got me this, and he is the best dad in the world'. I sighed and put the dress away. Along with it's good memories, it also came with bad ones as my dad died a week after my sixteenth birthday. I sighed wearily and tucked the dress neatly into the luggage, then picked the rest, folded 'em and tucked them in..
Two knocks, and my door was pushed open.. "Hey". It was Dawn.
"Hi". I replied, not turning to face her, but just continued to do my thing.
"Uh, how are you?". She asked as she rubbed her thighs while sitting down on the bed, right in front of my luggage.
"Good". I replied as calmly as I could.
There was silence, and it didn't feel comfortable to me, so I decided to break it. "When would Miley get here?". I was done packing, there wasn't much to pack anyways.
"In about thirty minutes". Dawn replied, staring right at me.
"uh..". I swallowed. "Okay, I'll... uhm... head out and say my bye to my friends". I said and hurried to the door.
"Emilia?". Damn, I was avoiding this. I turned slowly.
"Mm?".
"Look, I know this doesn't sit well with you and all that, but I really don't have much of a choice. This whole shit isn't easy you know, and I swear, I tried, I tried to keep us here, but the burden is much on me. The landlord would be coming in two days to send us out, so why don't we save ourselves the embarrassment and just leave? The town we're moving to has good accommodation, and it's free. I heard they're really nice, although .... Most of them are not just like us". I wanted to ask what she meant by that, but I let it be, because she wouldn't dare it, right? Who cares about all of this shit? The fact remains that I don't want to leave this place, but who am I? I'm just the third child of my parents, basically the second to the last child.
"It's all cool. I'm totally fine with it". I lied. "Can I go now?". I asked and she nodded, so I quickly left the room.
