"Your tuition fees, your mother's medical expenses, I've covered them all. I have only one request for you - marry me!" At her most difficult moment, in the entire Jiangbin City...

Chapter 1 True or False Fiancée

In a four-story luxury villa in the outskirts of J City, Agatha's fingers flew across the keyboard as she sent out dozens of resumes.

It was time for her to find a proper job; she couldn't continue living off Adolf's support forever.

"Beep beep beep." The phone on the table vibrated at that moment.

Excited voice came through from the other end of the line, "Agatha! I think I just saw Adolf's legitimate fiancée! Do you remember the photo Adolf showed you when he asked you to pretend to be his fiancée? It's that woman! She looks almost exactly like you!"

Suddenly, Agatha's grip on the phone stiffened, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. Was her true identity about to be exposed?

"Hello? Agatha? Can you hear me?!" Seeing no response from the other end, Agatha's friend, Agnes, shouted.

At the mention of Adolf, a figure naturally emerged in Agatha's mind.

In her memory, that man always liked to wear a black handmade suit, paired with a light gray shirt with a loose collar and a tie, with a Patek Philippe watch on his wrist.

When he came to her school to find her, he was sitting in the back seat of a luxury Rolls-Royce, the window half rolled down, revealing his sharply defined profile. Even so, it was enough to make a group of female college students scream in excitement.

So after she and Adolf got married, she would always politely refuse when he offered to drive her back to school. She was afraid of attracting unwanted attention, especially since she was only a sophomore at that time.

In the blink of an eye, three years had passed.

During these three years, although Agatha and Adolf hadn't reached deep affection, they still treated each other with respect. He never touched her, only occasionally returning to this suburban villa to sleep in separate beds.

But it seemed...

Agatha calculated the time and realized that she hadn't seen this man for over three months.

"Agatha, if you've developed real feelings for Adolf while pretending to be his fiancée, I advise you to take this man down quickly. Otherwise, when his legitimate wife returns, you'll be left with nothing!"

"..."

Agatha didn't hear what Agnes said next. In fact, she wasn't even sure when she had hung up the phone. She squeezed the phone in her hand tightly, feeling a chill creeping up her chest.

For several hours, Agatha's mind was blank until Adolf's call came through. Agatha's hand trembled as she answered the phone.

"Uh, hello, is, is something wrong?" Even though it had been three months, even this man's call made Agatha feel unfamiliar.

She tried to steady her breathing, but her thoughts inadvertently drifted to what Agnes had said, making her voice sound somewhat anxious.

Did Adolf call her because he had received news about that woman too?

"My mom called just now, asking me to bring you home for dinner tonight."

At that moment, Adolf had just finished a transnational international conference. He was sitting in the 19th-floor office of the top building of the Jin Corporation, holding the phone in his left hand, while his right hand's fingertip was poised at the bottom of a document, ready to sign.

Agatha couldn't help but be distracted by his husky and low voice. However, to her surprise, Adolf's actions had nothing to do with that woman.

Instead, he wanted to take her home again. By home, Adolf meant the Jin family mansion...

Almost every month, Adolf would take her home, as if it were a routine, always mindful to show her presence to his parents.

But Agatha hadn't forgotten that she was an impostor after all.

"Adolf, can I refuse? You know, I'm afraid I'll slip up in front of them, and if I'm found out..." A hint of sadness flashed through Agatha's eyebrows. How heartbroken Adolf's charitable parents would be...

"It's okay, I'll handle it. Get ready, I'll pick you up after five in the afternoon." Adolf put down the pen in his hand, leaned forward to pick up the porcelain cup on the table, took a sip, only then did he realize that the tea in the cup had already cooled.

He frowned slightly, pressed the pager, and soon someone knocked on the door and entered, replacing his cup with a new one.

"But..." Agatha was still hesitating. Should she tell Adolf that the woman Agnes mentioned might be Adolf's true fiancée, his legitimate wife?

"What? Do you have any other questions?" Adolf's calm voice entered Agatha's ears.

"No... no, that's it." Somehow, Agatha swallowed back the words she had intended to say.

Her mother's condition had not truly improved, she needed the money Adolf provided. For now, she would bury this matter in her heart and tell Adolf when the time was right.

"Okay."

With that deep voice, Adolf hung up the phone first.
