Leah Spencer, the childish and arrogant young lady of the Spencer family had been chasing after Mark Lyman like hell. Every day, She did nothing except squandering her family property and flirting with her man. Leah just wanted to be a follower of Mark. However, things had changed dramatically. Her grandfather had passed away and she had divorced Mark. No one loved her anymore. The Spencer family was ashamed of her and drove her out of the house. Just when everyone thought that Leah would be depressed, nobody expected the young lady to have a showdown and went home to inherit the family business. She even posted pictures of handsome male models' abs to her WhatsApp moments every day. When Leah was drunk, she cried and shouted, "Mark, I wouldn't bear you anymore!" She didn't expect Mark to show up out of the blue and close in on her. He pressed his lips and chuckled, "Want to leave? Want to see abs? Good girl, I'll go home to show you!" The crowd was shocked. Rumor had it that Leah Spencer had a one-sided crush on Mark Lyman. What's more, they had divorced. Why did he take her away?

Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Suicide temptation

At the Lyman family in New York City.

In the dead of night on Christmas Day, the wind blew the snow outside the French window, and from time to time, it patted the window, making a deep sound of "rustling".

"Get a divorce. Don't waste any more time. Three years is the limit of my patience."

A cold voice came from the man's mouth.

Leah's body froze. She looked at the cold man in front of her and her eyes darkened. "Have you endured it for three years?"

"The terms of the divorce are up to you."

Mark turned around and was about to change his clothes. He didn't even say a word more to her.

The indifference made Leah feel chilled, but she still smiled, "If you don't want to hold the wedding, we can give up the wedding and don't need a divorce."

As soon as she finished her words, Mark threw the glass on the table to the floor.

His handsome face was impatient, and his dark eyes were angry. "There is no room for negotiation!"

After saying that, Mark directly lifted the quilt and went to bed.

With her fists clenched slightly, Leah didn't dare to respond again. She just squatted down to pick up the broken glass and threw it into the trash can.

Leah tried to keep her movements quiet so as not to disturb Mark, but when she got up, her legs went numb and she accidentally touched a table nearby and made a noise.

She gritted her teeth secretly, and the pain in her knee was barely overcome when the man's unhappy voice came from the bed.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Mark's voice was serious. He sat up sharply, without concealing his anger on his face. His tightly frowned eyebrows made Leah nervous.

In the end, he burst out his anger.

Leah explained in a low voice, "I wanted to get rid of the broken glass in case you stepped on it in the morning."

Hearing this, Mark's eyes flashed with coldness. He sneered, "Do you mean to say that because I'm blind I have to be careful everywhere?"

Standing still, Leah's heart sank, but she couldn't refute him. She was used to tolerating his emotions.

The car accident three years ago caused Mark's blindness. Since then, his temper had become more and more strange and irritable.

So she tolerated him as much as she could. She never argued with him no matter how nasty he said.

There was no answer from Leah. In a quiet, Mark became more and more irritable. His low and hoarse voice passed through Leah's body like the cold wind.

"Don't think that I will accept you just because grandma asked me to give you a wedding. In my heart, you are no different from the servants at home!"

Although Leah thought she would not have any reaction after hearing these words, she still felt a little pain in her heart.

After all, they had been together for three years. Even if Mark had a heart of stone, he should have been touched by her.

Leah stared at his cold face and was painful at the thought of her grievance and his indifference over the years.

"I didn't mention the wedding. It was Grandma who thought..."

Before Leah could finish her words, Mark interrupted her impatiently, "If it weren't for you, how could Grandma want us to hold a wedding ceremony? I don't want to hear you say one more word now. Get out!"

The cold wind poured in from the window, and slightly raised her thin dress. Leah's fingertips were cold, and her limbs were a little stiff.

Staring at the broken glass on the floor, Leah's heart seemed to be broken too.

Although Mark couldn't see, she still smiled and said in a very gentle voice, "Don't be angry. I'll go out after cleaning up and won't disturb you."

Clenching the corner of the quilt, Mark hated the humble look of Leah and her unprincipled obedience. That would only make him feel more disgusted.

Mark pressed his thin lips together and finally suppressed his anger.

At this time, the phone on the bedside table suddenly rang.

He picked up the phone and answered it. "What's up?" His voice was hoarse.

"Mr. Lyman, something bad happened. Miss Nolan took the medicine and committed suicide! Come quickly!"

Mark's face changed and his eyebrows twisted. "Which hospital? I'm coming now!"

The person on the other end of the line told him the address. After hanging up the phone, Mark immediately got out of bed and changed the clothes that Leah prepared for him for the second day. He was in a hurry.

Seeing this, Leah wanted to help him, but her foot accidentally stepped on the glass fragment. She gritted her teeth to endure the sharp pain, then took a cold breath, and limped to Mark.

"Where are you going? I'll go with you."

Mark didn't answer. He put on his coat and walked towards the door. His wide back showed endless indifference.

After three years of living habits, Mark had already been able to move freely at home, as if he were a normal person. Leah was no longer his eyes.

She wanted to follow him regardless of her self-esteem. Mark seemed to feel it and said coldly, "I'm going to see Emily. If you want to come, you can. After all, you have no dignity left anyway."

The words finally made Leah burst into tears.

She was frozen in place, and her heart was cold. She just quietly watched the tall figure blur in her sight until it disappeared.

After Mark left, Leah couldn't hold on anymore. She sat down in the chair with a chill in her heart.

She just pursued her love. Was it wrong?

In the hospital.

The doctor rescued Emily for half an hour and pumped her stomach before transferring her to the VIP ward.

With the help of Mark, everyone in the hospital paid special attention to Emily.

Everyone was relieved after they saved Miss Nolan back. Otherwise, they didn't know how to face Mr. Lyman.

They were afraid that Mark would take his anger out on the hospital.

In the large ward, Mark was waiting for Emily to wake up. His driver and people of Emily were waiting quietly at the door.

Half an hour later, Emily regained consciousness. She saw the man who appeared by the bed. Seeing the tense expression on his handsome face, she pressed her lips. She knew that she had won the bet.

Under the dim light, the man's outline was deep and perfect. How could she give up such a handsome man to another woman?

"I thought you want to abandon me."

Emily's slightly hoarse voice made the coldness in Mark's eyes disappear. There was a touch of tenderness in his dark eyes. He said in a low voice, "Don't do stupid things for me anymore."

Emily froze for a moment. That's it?

She came back from the brink of death, and only got such a word?

Emily gritted her teeth and suddenly hugged Mark. She put her head on Mark's shoulder and tears ran down her beautiful face.

"Without you, I couldn't be happy. Now the whole world knows that you are going to marry Leah. What about me?"
