Someone's POV I have a dream.. A weird dream to be exact. "Selene!" I stopped walking when I heard my name. I quickly turned my attention to the behavior of the person who called me. "I-it's you.." I exclaimed when I saw a man with a familiar face. He smiled sweetly at me. "Selene.. please.." what? I frowned as he slowly approached me. "Please, suck my blood." I was stunned by what he said and could not react immediately. What? *Kringg!* *Kringg* (Sounds of alarm clock.) I took a long breath as I got up from the bed. I was staring at the white wall, breathless. "A dream..?" I whispered to myself. I looked around before my hand fell on my forehead. I'm still in the room so that means it's just a dream... "Shit, when will that dream stop?" "Selene, your mouth." I was surprised to realize that I was not the only one in my room. From the shocked face it was replaced by wonder. "Wtf? Sister, why are you here in my room again?" I asked him. He looked at me seriously before closing the book he was holding. "I just want to borrow your book, that's all." He said while still sitting on the floor. I sighed. She's my sister, Vera Laurent. Second oldest of our siblings. "If you got it, can you get out of my room?" I asked him. His left eyebrow rose quickly, "Seriously? Is that how you treat your sister?" This is a serious question. I was about to answer him "yes" when I suddenly noticed his iris or middle eye turned red. I swallowed because of that. "N-no, what I mean is..." Sh*t. "What?" "Can you give me space to think about my dream?" I asked a little nervously. D*mn. It's really different when you're the youngest. "Oh." In the blink of an eye, it immediately returned to its original color. "Are you still dreaming about that?" Sister asked me. I quickly nodded to him, causing his mouth to open slightly and to nod as well. "Actually, I noticed that a while ago." He said before looking again at the book he was holding. "How?" I want to ask. He raised his index finger and pointed at her eyes. "Because the color of your eyes turned red." I was stunned by what he said. "What?!" I exclaimed before rushing to the mirror and looking into my eyes. "The fuck?!" "Your mouth." Ate Vera scolded me, but I didn't pay attention to it. It's just that when I dream about that man again, my eyes suddenly become like this. "What should I do, Sister?" I asked nervously. Today is our first day of school! "Just calm down." He said. I nodded and tried to calm myself down. A few hours passed, I calmed down and got ready to go to school. "Hey, good morning." I turned around with a tap on my shoulder. "Good morning, Brother Felix." I greet him back. He is my Big Brother. Felix Laurent. Actually, she and Ate Vera are twins, but they have different personalities. "It's your first day of school, right?" I looked at the person who spoke. Kuya Nikolas The oldest of us all. I smiled at him and nodded, "Yeah." "By the way, I'm not going to have breakfast with you anymore. I need to hurry because I might be late." I will explain to the three of them. "Okay, take care!" Kuya Felix smiled and said to me. I just nodded before running out of the house. My school is not far from our house so I just walked to it. Also, such a person doesn't get tired right away we- "Did you watch the news this morning?" I secretly looked at the two students who were walking almost at the same time as me. "Ah, is it about the corpse found behind an abandoned building?" His companion asked. "Yes! Gosh, I was surprised when the reporter said that the vampire did it again." I stopped walking when I heard what another woman said. What? "How many more victims are there?" "Maybe 60 plus?" "Shit! That's a lot!?" I swallowed saliva. What the f*ck? 60 plus victims? How did that happen? Why don't we know anything about that? We are also vampires. Because of the nervousness I feel, I quickly took out my cellphone from my skirt pocket. My hand was shaking a little just typing Kuya Niko's contact number. "Vampires like them should be killed." I was stunned again when I heard the last thing that woman said. Killing...? It was as if my breathing got heavier after hearing those words. I clutched my chest and tried to calm myself down. "Excuse me.." Calm down, Selene.. "Ahm... Miss? Are you okay?" I slowly turned to the person who spoke. Wait.. Am I still dreaming? "I-it's you again..?" I said breathlessly. He frowned and said something else but I didn't hear it anymore when I lost consciousness.
Selene's POV
I just woke up when I felt a sharp object pierce my skin.
I slowly opened my eyes and frowned when I looked at that thing.
A woman in a white dress- wrong, she's wearing a nurse's uniform...
Am I in the hospital?
"Selene." I turned around at the sound of a familiar voice.
"Sister Vera."
He frowned when he looked at me before speaking.
"What happened? Why did you suddenly lose consciousness?" He frowned when he asked.
Before I could answer Ate's question, the nurse suddenly interjected. He said he was done giving me dextrose and then left immediately.
"I don't know. It's just that my body suddenly got weak." I said.
I don't even know why that happened. This is the first time this has happened to me.
Ate Vera sighed and leaned against the back of the chair. He crossed his hands while sitting down.
"Luckily, someone brought you to the hospital right away." He said gently.
Suddenly, the last thing I saw before I lost consciousness came back to my memory.
"Who is the person who brought me here? Where is he?" My next question.
I'm nervous. I feel that the person who brought me here is the last person I saw.
Sister Vera raised her hand before pointing to a man not far away.
From there, I could see the man's entire face. Kuya Niko is talking to him.
"What the hell?!" I exclaimed while staring at the man in disbelief.
"Selene, how many times do I have to tell you to watch what you say?" Ate Vera scolded me again.
I ignored it and reached for the long sleeve he was wearing.
"Sister!!" I eagerly called him.
"What?"
"That's him!" I whispered to him, "He is the man who always appears in my dreams!"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes!"
I didn't know that this man actually existed.
I thought it was just the novels I was reading.
"You should avoid him."
I was stunned by Ate Vera's words and frowned when I looked at it.
"Why?" I asked curiously.
Selene's POV
I'm still excited to talk to the man. So why?
"You told me that when he appeared in your dream, he always asked you to suck his blood." He looked at the man before turning back to me. "So, in short. He knows our family's secrets."
I was silent when he said this.
Come to think of it. That's what the man always said in my dream.
So that means, he knows our family's secret.
We are a vampire.
Suddenly, the words said by the two female students came back to my mind.
"Vampires like them should be killed."
I held tightly to my blanket because of fear.
What if because of this man, people find out our secret?
"Y-you're right... I should avoid him." I was afraid to tell Ate Vera.
A few minutes ago, Kuya Niko also came to us with the man who brought me here.
"You're awake." Kuya Niko said to me openly, I just nodded. "By the way, this is Dominic Tiago. He is the one who brought you here to the hospital."
I swallowed before looking at Dominic for a moment and smiling.
Now that I can see his face. I couldn't control myself more and more.
I am so amazed.
"Ahm.. I have to go. I'm late." I heard Dominic say.
Kuya Niko smiled at him, "Okay, thanks again."
"It's nothing."
From here, I just watched Dominic leave.
I still can't believe that he exists.
Wow..
"Brother Niko, what did the doctor say to Selene?" I heard Ate Vera's question to Kuya causing me to turn around as well.
Kuya Niko removed his eyeglasses before sighing.
"I'll tell you when we get home." Kuya Niko said seriously.
I feel that it is very important to the point that he needs to tell the reason at home.
"Then, brother. When can I get out of here?" It's still boring when you're in the hospital.
"You will only stay here for 3 hours. Don't worry."
Eh?
3 hours??!
"Mr.?!" I gasped in surprise.
Selene's POV
"Selene, your mouth." Ate Vera scolded me again but I ignored it.
"Brother Niko, I've only been here for 3 hours. Why do you still know dextrose dextrose?" I said before raising my hand to reveal the dextrose stuck to the back of my palm.
It still hurts a bit.
"That's the only way you won't be mistaken for a vampire." Kuya said softly.
Even. There are many other ways.
"The doctor you talked to, Brother. That's your friend, right?" Sister Vera asked.
"Yes."
By the way, I forgot that vampires are scattered everywhere.
Others are still pretending to be human. Just like us.
They talked about something else but I didn't listen anymore. It's just dizzying, I don't understand anything.
"Selene, we have to leave first. Felix will pick you up here later." I heard Kuya Niko say.
"Okay, see ya!" I wave at her.
When they left, I immediately breathed a sigh of relief and lay down on the hospital bed again.
I was like that for a few hours, until suddenly I heard cries.
I quickly turned around and looked at what it was.
I saw a stretcher carrying six people to the E.R., some of them still crying.
I would like the case to come closer, but the dextrose attached to me is in the way.
But because I was curious, I just looked for someone to ask. Until I saw two gossiping nurses not far from me.
"Ahm.. excuse me? Can I ask?" My question is polite.
The two nurses turned to me at the same time and immediately approached me.
"Yes? What is it?"
"What happened to the patient brought to the E.R?" My question is gossipy.
"Oh, isn't it? They say it's a victim of a vampire." A nurse said causing me to stop.
What? Another victim?
"A-are you sure?" I assure you.
The other one nodded, "Yes! They actually found two holes on the side of the man's neck. It's a good thing he's still alive."
Sh*t. What fool would do that?
There is a law that vampires follow. So why does this happen?
Whoever they are, they will be really angry with the elders.
