Chapter 1 Locky in love

Lucky in love

''Once upon a time, in a quaint little town nestled between rolling hills and lush forests, there lived two souls destined to find each other amidst the chaos of life. Their names were Emily and Daniel.

Emily was a free-spirited artist, her vibrant personality mirrored in the colorful strokes of her paintings. She lived in a cozy cottage on the outskirts of town, surrounded by blooming gardens and the melodies of chirping birds.

Daniel, on the other hand, was a reserved writer, his words weaving tales of love and longing. He resided in a charming old house by the river, where the gentle flow of water whispered secrets to his soul.

Their paths first crossed on a warm summer day at the town's annual art fair. Emily's paintings caught Daniel's eye, each canvas telling a story of its own. Intrigued, he approached her booth, and their eyes met in a moment that felt like destiny.

"Your work is exquisite," Daniel said, unable to tear his gaze away from her captivating blue eyes.

"Thank you," Emily replied, a soft blush tinting her cheeks. "I'm Emily."

"Daniel," he introduced himself with a smile.

And so, their journey began.

As the days turned into weeks, Emily and Daniel found themselves drawn to each other, their encounters becoming more frequent. They shared stories under the starlit sky, dreams intertwined with laughter and whispered confessions.

Daniel found solace in Emily's presence, her laughter chasing away the shadows of doubt that lingered in his heart. And Emily discovered a kindred spirit in Daniel, his words igniting a passion within her she never knew existed.

But like all great love stories, theirs was not without its challenges. Daniel's career often took him away from home for days on end, leaving Emily longing for his touch and his presence by her side. And Emily's artistic temperament sometimes clashed with Daniel's practicality, testing the strength of their bond.

Yet, through it all, their love remained unwavering, a beacon of hope guiding them through the darkest of nights. They learned to cherish the moments they shared, knowing that love was not measured in grand gestures but in the simple acts of kindness and understanding.

One crisp autumn morning, as the leaves painted the town in hues of gold and crimson, Daniel took Emily by the hand and led her to a secluded spot by the riverbank. There, beneath the canopy of swaying trees, he dropped to one knee and declared his love for her, a glittering ring nestled in his palm.

"Emily, will you do me the honor of being my wife?" he asked, his voice trembling with emotion.

Tears welled up in Emily's eyes as she gazed into Daniel's soulful eyes, her heart overflowing with love. "Yes, Daniel, a thousand times yes!"

And so, they sealed their promise with a tender kiss, their love echoing through the rustling leaves and the babbling brook.

As winter blanketed the town in a shimmering coat of snow, Emily and Daniel exchanged vows in a quaint little chapel adorned with flickering candles and fragrant flowers. Their friends and family gathered to witness their union, tears of joy mingling with the soft strains of music.

And as they danced beneath the starry sky, surrounded by the warmth of their loved ones, Emily and Daniel knew that their love was a masterpiece in the making, a story written in the stars for all eternity. For in each other's arms, they had found home, a place where their souls could flourish and their hearts could soar.

And so, they lived happily ever after, their love story an inspiration to all who crossed their path. For in a world where chaos reigns and uncertainty looms, Emily and Daniel's love remained a beacon of hope, lighting the way for all who dared to believe in the power of true love.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
