Tristan Morgan, while possessing the looks of a classic heartthrob, is anything but the typical knight in shining armor. As the CEO of Morgan Inc., he exudes an air of arrogance and coldness. Despite their initial clash, they find themselves repeatedly encountering each other at her sister's wedding. Will their meeting lead to something significant happening between them or will the difference in their character drive a gap between them thereby making it impossible for them to form a connection.

Chapter 1 1

Ophelia POV

"Do I really have to go?" I whined to my sister Penelope for the umpteenth time that day.

With my final exams around the corner, and a mountain of homework from my teachers, I just couldn't see a valid reason as to why I should go to a nightclub. Being an architectural engineering student meant juggling numerous projects and presentations, leaving me with two pending and untouched projects.

Now my sisters are going out for the night and suggesting that I tag along, tthey're not doing it to disrupt my studies, tthey're the best sisters anyone could have, they would do anything for me, however, tthey're having a night out because Lucas plans to propose to my eldest sister, Aurora, tonight. He wants to surprise her and, of course, needs our help. According to the plan, we have to go out with him and his friends, and he's going to surprise her with the sudden proposal.

"Ophelia, you know Aurora's going to be suspicious if you don't go. And it means a lot to both of them. We have to help Lucas," Penelope said to me.

"They should go to a restaurant or some private place and have that special moment to themselves, not with unknown strangers," I tried to protest, frustrated about the fact that I knew I had no choice but to go.

"No, we both are going and gonna help him and..." she hesitated at the end.

"And what, Penelope?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at her. Something is clearly not right because my sister is the type of person who will always dump the bitter truth right on your face without any hesitation.

"Well, I... um... I broke up with him," she said out of the blue, startling me.

"Wait, wait... You did what?" I asked her, dumbfounded.

"Yeah, I broke up with him because he cheated on me," she said in a sad voice.

How did that douchebag dare to cheat on my sweet sister!

"Penelope, what exactly happened?" I asked, worried about her. "Well as you know we live together.

One day, I came home late from work and found him in bed with another woman. So, I kicked him out of the house and threw his clothes in garbage bags," she summarized the incident.

"That son of a..." I wanted to burst out in anger towards the jerk.

"Language, Ophelia," she warned, cutting me off.

"Ugh!" I let out a frustrated sigh, clawing my hands near my face.

When I looked back at her from where I stood, she was clearly sad about it. Of course, she would be sad, considering she had been with Nathan since senior year of high school. She clearly liked him a lot, but I always had doubts about whether he felt the same way about her. He was a player, and for that, I could never trust him with my sister.

I sighed and sat next to her so that our bodies were facing each other vertically. I wrapped my arms around her, resting my chin on her shoulder.

"I'm so sorry, sis," I said to her in a sad tone.

"Hmm," she hummed in reply, clutching my forearm and rubbing circles with her thumb.

"It's sad that you had to face that alone. But I'm not sad that you broke up with him. I'm actually happy because he doesn't deserve someone like you," I said softly.

She chuckled in response.

"And what you did was right, kicking him out of the house and tossing his clothes in the garbage bags with the trash," I said with a humorous glint in my voice as I unwrapped my arm from around her.

"Thank you," she said to me as I got up from the bed.

"Well, now let's go and decide what to wear tonight," I said to her, ushering her to get up from the bed.

"Well, well, well... Look who's the most eager one here?" she teased, tapping my nose.

"Yeah, I am because I have a mission to accomplish. I'm going to be a wingman for both of my sisters," I exclaimed, nearly shouting at the end.

"Huh?" Penelope asked with a laugh.

"Yeah, I'm going to be your wingman and find you a handsome, sexy man tonight. We're going to have a lot of fun!" I exclaimed, hooking both of our arms together.

"Now, let's see what to wear," I said, dragging her into the closet.

In response, she just laughed.

"Penelope, Ophelia," my elder sister Aurora said, knocking on the door.

I faced the mirror again to check out my appearance one last time. I wore a black glitter beaded romper with a matching crop top, with a black and blue jacket ready to be slung over my shoulder on the bed. My hair cascaded down my waist in beachy curls, and I opted for a silvery smoky eye with pink nude lipstick for makeup. I skipped jewelry, as my dress was already sparkling, and instead wore a pair of knee-high black boots with heels.

I watched as my sister went to open the door. She wore a white romper with a high neckline and white ankle boots with silver heels. Her makeup was minimal, with nude eyes and dark red lipstick, and her hair was styled in a messy bun.

As she opened the door, Aurora came into view. She wore a golden sheer cocktail dress with knee-length heels. Her makeup featured a golden smoky eye with red lipstick, and her hair was styled sleekly.

"Ready?" Aurora asked.

"Yeah let's go and kick some sexy ass." I said cheerfully fetching the jacket off the bed.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ “I want to get a divorce, Mark,” I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time—even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
