Chapter 9 What a Small Town

Chapter 1 The beginning of a whole new thing..

Evelyn, You are finishing school in the next few days, you need to find a job somewhere if you are thinking of taking a gap year from college! My mother says while I try and cram in the last of my biology notes for my final tomorrow. "I don't know mom, there is nothing to do in this town." The only options I would have is lifesaving at our local beach or bartending at one of our local watering holes , and I was not ready to be stuck in this town just to do one of those jobs.

"Ok fine, this weekend we will take a drive to Shark Bay, maybe we will find something there for you to do." My mom says as I start getting ready for bed. Shark Bay was a well know town for Scuba diving and Alcoholics, well I mean that is the only two things that go on in that town.

Saturday rolls around far to slow when you have exams, but finally I get to go job hunting and I feel kind of excited knowing that it might be possible to experience life outside of my home town Milnerton. We drive for about an hour speaking to all the managers at the bars on the way, when we came to this rustic Dive centre with a hotel, restaurant and bar attached. Oceans eye was the name of this olden style, beach vibe place. As I walked into this curious place I am welcomed by this large handsome man that was the manager Aden. "How can I help you today ?" Aden asks in a deep husky voice. " I was just wondering if there are any available jobs open, I just finished high school and I am eager to work" I said confidently, "Ahh is see, I'm sure we can find a place for you here! Do you have any experience in Scuba diving?" Aden asks. "No but I can bartend and I am a fast learner." I said. Aden then proceeded to offer me a generous deal, "well I can offer you a room as I know you aren't from this town, I can offer a few diving courses and all Your meals if you agree to stay and work for at least a year. You will get an allowance each week to cover toiletries and any activities you want to do on your off days." I was shocked, I had never had Scuba diving cross my mind nor did I ever think I'd get A sweet job with so many benefits.

I of course agreed to this offer straight away and was to start the following week. I was nervous, but excited to start this new chapter in my life. Little did I know, it was the start to something not even I predicted.

I woke up to my packed room. Today was the day I final leave this town and start my new role at Ocean Eye dive resort. I jumped out of bed and got ready as quickly as I could. When I got to the dive shop I was introduced to the team that had the same working deal I got. There was Chelcie, Mitchel, Calvin, Goose, Ruby and Shaun. Chelcie was a very down to earth chick, she loved her crystals and messy hair, sort of like a hippie. Mitchel loved to dive and watch cartoons, he smoked a lot of weed but never let it get in the way of his work. Calvin was the class clown, He loved magic and making people laugh with his silly dad jokes. Goose was this sexy tattooed man that was older and also one of the instructors, he loved his video games and watching programs of people singing. Ruby is just amazing, she loves sunflowers so much that she keeps tattooing Them on her body, she loved the beach and she also has a huge crush on the Manager Aden. Shaun is the only intern that is a bit different, that is because his dad Greg owns the resort so he basically just works so that he can dive everyday.

Now that I had met everyone, it was time to work Hard and have fun, because we were all close in age, it didn't take long to become friend with everyone and make plans after work. And because we all lived together, there would be loads of fun.
