She Ditched Her Scumbag Husband After Her Rebirth Chapter 1 01

"Madam, should I prepare the meals now?" Miss Chloe asked.

She had been the chief for the Wilson family for very long time now.

"Don't worry miss Chloe, you can rest for today. I want to cook for my husband today." Rita said while smiling.

"But madam..." Miss Chloe was trying to say, but was cut short by Rita.

" I insist please."

"Okay if you say so. By the way, young master Liam is so lucky to have a wife like you, I can only pray you grew old together in love." Miss Chloe said as she smiled, patted Rita's shoulders and walked away.

Rita stared at the old lady and paused for a moment, allowing what the lady said to sink inside of her.

'Grow old tougher in love! Was that ever going to happen?

She doubted so. It's been eight years now since her marriage to Liam Wilson, but she could never win his heart. She did everything a wife could have done, hence putting her aspiration aside to become his full wife but non of her sacrifices could move him to love her.

He was an heartless psychopath who only cared about himself, and even though Rita knew he wouldn't change his attitude for her, she still had high hopes that he could change one day.

Soon afterward , she put on the kitchen apron and began cooking.

After making three different meals including Liam's Favorite, she placed them on the table and went to the bar to get the drinks.

As she got to the bar, her eyes caught sight of the wedding picture of her and Liam. She was smiling happily while Liam who was behind her was with an angry expression. Judging by this, she knew he was not happy about the marriage.

She should have know from the start that this was going to be a loveless marriage, but she was too blinded by her love for him to realize so.

Back then, her family and that of Liam's were close friends so in other for their friendship to continue, her father and Liam's father decided that it was right for the two of them to get married, and Rita did not hesitate to say yes to the marriage because she had always loved Liam.

But how could she not see from the beginning that his heart was with someone else. Had she known from the beginning that this was how her life was going to be after the marriage, she would have hesitated back then.

She broke out of her thought as she took the drink and headed back to the table where she had kept the food.

After placing the drinks, she finally removed her apron and went upstairs to take her bath while waiting for Liam's return.

It was already nine o'clock and he would return any time soon.

She was very excited because today was their wedding anniversary of eight years, so she thought it would be a good idea for both of them to celebrate it because they have never celebrated it before.

"Young master Wilson, is back." Rita heard the voice of miss Chloe from downstairs and quickly put on her earrings.

After packing her hair in bun, she glanced at herself in the mirror, seeing how pretty she looked which was up to her satisfaction and finally made it downstairs.

Liam was already sited on the sofa relaxing when Rita got down.

She smiled and made her way to him but he could only give her an angry look, which she was already used to after this eight years of their marriage.

"Welcome.." Rita said still smiling.

Irritated by the way she was smiling at him, he asked, "What is all this preparations for huh?"

"Well, you know today is our eight years anniversary, so I thought it was a good idea for us to celebrate it. I made all this. What do you think? Don't you like it?" She asked.

"I...." As he was trying to respond, he got a call.

Liam brought out this phone from his pocket and picked the call. It was an unknown number.

"Hello, who is this?.... What!." His scream made Rita to be at alarm.

Before she could ask him what the matter was, he had already walked away, hurrying out.

Out of disappointment, Rita went upstairs. There was nothing she could do rather than to wait for him to come back, if he will ever do.

.....

Two hours later, the door was pushed open.

Rita was already asleep when she heard someone screaming her name angrily. When she opened her eyes it was Liam.

Before she could stand up from the bed , he had already gotten upstairs. The next thing she knew was being forcefully dragged from the bed by Liam.

"This is all your fault Rita, I should have known from the beginning that you hated Joey Nash so much, how could you go as far as killing? You are so heartless." Liam was screaming.

Too stunned to speak, Rita was confused.

What did he mean that she killed Joey?

"What, cats caught your tongue, you can't speak?" Liam was saying.

"Am sorry, but you are confusing me Liam, how can you say I killed Joey. Surely you must be mistaking." Rita said, still confused.

"Really? Then take a look." Liam gave her Joey's phone which was stained with blood.

"Listen to the recording." He said.

Rita played the voice recoding and began to listen to it. It happened to be an argument she had with Joey over Liam, but that had been a long time ago, so why did Joey bring it up now?.

Before Rita could listen to the full voice recording, Liam snatched the phone from her.

"This must be a mistake, please believe me Liam. I..." Rita was trying to explain.

"Enough, you are a liar and a deceit and I won't listen to any thing you tell me. Now that you have succeeded in killing Joey, do you think you can still become my wife? No way, that with never happen." Liam screamed.

Rita could not believe what she had just heard, shock shot up her body as though she was struck by lightening.

She was innocent, and whoever was trying to frame her for Joey's death was someone who knew her. But how could she explain to Liam that she was actually innocent.

"Since you've killed the love of my life, I'll put an end to your life too." Liam said.

Sensing danger, it was the unsettling realization that hit her that Liam was not joking about ending her own life. Quickly she turned back and made her way downstairs.

"Rita!" Liam reached out, and it seems as though he wanted to hold unto Rita. Instead, however, he gave her a harsh push.

"Ahh!"

Rita was caught off guard and her body fell off the stairs. Her hair which she had tied in a bun previously loosened and scattered over the pool of blood oozing out of her head, and her body rammed against the wall.

Warm blood ooze between her legs.

"You asked for this yourself Rita." With a barbaric look, Liam walked down from the stairs towards the unconscious Rita. He then gave her a hard kick on the face.

While still in her pool of blood, she felt an unbearable pain that tore through her body.

This was the man she had gotten married to out of love eight years ago, she had left everything behind including her aspirations to become his full wife, yet this was all she could get in return after her sacrifice?

How could he believed she was the one behind Joey's death.., how could he be so cruel to her?!

She loathed this! She hated the day she ever met Liam Wilson.

More and more blood stained her blue dress as her vision began to turn dark.

With her last breath, she prayed in her mind, that if she could get one more chance back to life, she would amend all her mistakes. That she would never be so crazy in love with Liam ever again.

It was not long after, Rita still in her unbearable pain gave her last breath while hearing the voice of Liam saying she deserved it all.

I spent our third anniversary alone in our penthouse, adjusting a white rose and waiting for a man who didn't want to come home. When my fiancé, Chris Osborne, finally arrived, he didn't notice the 1982 Lafite or the dinner I’d prepared. He looked at me with disgust, calling my desire for a wedding date "pressure" before storming out to a private club. I followed him, hiding behind a marble pillar at The Vault as I recorded his voice on my phone. He was laughing with his friends about a $20 million bet. He called me a "boring ice queen" and a "marble statue," explaining that he only needed to keep me around until the merger closed so he could steal my shares and "cut me loose." To make it worse, my own father was in on it, prioritizing his stock price over his daughter's life. Broken and barefoot in a torrential Manhattan downpour, I sought refuge at the Four Seasons. I collapsed into the arms of a tall, dangerous-looking stranger and begged him to take me upstairs. I wanted to be erased, to forget the transaction my life had become. After a night of salt and desperation, I left my engagement ring on his nightstand as payment for services rendered and fled. The next morning, I realized I had jumped from the frying pan into the furnace. My "stranger" wasn't a nobody. He was Gallagher Osborne—the ruthless patriarch of the family and my fiancé’s uncle. He tracked me to a private clinic, trapping me in a room while holding my medical file and the ring I’d discarded. He told me I was his now, and that he’d dismantle Chris piece by piece if I didn't comply. I was a piece of currency to my father, a bet to my fiancé, and a prize to his uncle. I had no allies, no escape, and no mercy left. I realized that being the "perfect daughter" had only made me a target. If they wanted to play games with the "Ice Queen," I decided to give them a frostbite they would never forget. I trashed my art gallery, backdated a diagnosis for a psychotic break, and sent a cryptic suicide note to Chris. As Gallagher watched from the shadows and Chris panicked over his investment, I began the process of scorching the earth. The merger was still happening, but I wasn't the bride anymore—I was the wrecking ball.

The rain in Detroit was slick with grime when my family finally came to fetch me. They didn't want a reunion; they wanted a sacrificial lamb to marry into the Kaufman empire to save their failing business. I thought I was just being sold off, but the limo ride ended under a dark overpass where six hired thugs were waiting with chains. My own sister had ordered them to "break my spirit" so I’d be a shaking, pathetic mess by the time I reached the altar. They called me "Detroit trash" and sprayed air freshener when I sat on their leather seats. My stepmother wanted a video of me begging for my life, and my father was ready to trade me like a used car to a man everyone called a "vegetable." They expected a submissive country girl, unaware that I was a high-level "cleaner" who could snap a radius bone before they could even scream. When I finally reached the Kaufman estate, I found my fiancé, Barron, slumped in a wheelchair, drooling and silent. But as soon as the doors closed, the "invalid" grabbed my wrist with a grip of iron and whispered a command that changed everything. I didn't understand why my own blood was so desperate to see me destroyed. What had I ever done to deserve a hit squad and a forced marriage to a man they thought was a corpse? But Barron isn't a vegetable, and I'm not a victim. We just touched down at the Moon family gala in a matte-black helicopter, and as the doors slide open, the "broken" bride is about to show them exactly what happens when you throw away the wrong daughter. "If we're going to crash a party," Barron whispered, his eyes burning with lethal clarity, "we should make an entrance."

I was four months pregnant, weighing over two hundred pounds, and my heart was failing from experimental treatments forced on me as a child. My doctor looked at me with clinical detachment and told me I was in a death sentence: if I kept the baby, I would die, and if I tried to remove it, I would die. Desperate for a lifeline, I called my father, Francis Acosta, to tell him I was sick and pregnant. I expected a father's love, but all I got was a cold, sharp blade of a voice. "Then do it quietly," he said. "Don't embarrass Candi. Her debutante ball is coming up." He didn't just reject me; he erased me. My trust fund was frozen, and I was told I was no longer an Acosta. My fiancé, Auston, had already discarded me, calling me a "bloated whale" while he looked for a thinner, wealthier replacement. I left New York on a Greyhound bus, weeping into a bag of chips, a broken woman the world considered a mistake. I couldn't understand how my own father could tell me to die "quietly" just to save face for a party. I didn't know why I had been a lab rat for my family’s pharmaceutical ambitions, or how they could sleep at night while I was left to rot in the gray drizzle of the city. Five years later, the doors of JFK International Airport slid open. I stepped onto the marble floor in red-soled stilettos, my body lean, lethal, and carved from years of blood and sweat. I wasn't the "whale" anymore; I was a ghost coming back to haunt them. With my daughter by my side and a medical reputation that terrified the global elite, I was ready to dismantle the Acosta empire piece by piece. "Tell Francis to wash his neck," I whispered to the skyline. "I'm home."

For three years, I was the perfect, invisible wife to Bart Brown. On our third anniversary, I stood in the kitchen for four hours, preparing his favorite meal with imported truffles, only to receive a cold text command. "Crysta fainted again. Get to the hospital. Now." My rare Rh-negative blood was the only thing the Brown family valued. Bart didn't want a wife; he wanted a walking blood bank for his "sick" best friend, Crysta. While I was fainting from chronic anemia, Crysta was smirking in her hospital bed, clutching Bart's hand and mocking my "peasant" lifestyle. Even his mother treated me like a servant, demanding I vacuum the floors after I'd already offered my veins for the hundredth time. When I finally reached my breaking point and signed the divorce papers, they didn't let me go quietly. They filed a false police report, accusing me of stealing a multi-million dollar diamond necklace just to watch me crawl. I didn't understand how a family could be so heartless. I had cooked their meals, cleaned their house, and literally bled for them, yet they were determined to ruin my life the moment I stopped being useful. Did they really think I was a nobody with nowhere to go? Standing outside the hospital with a bruised wrist and nothing to my name, I didn't cry. I simply took off my cheap wedding ring and dialed a secure line I hadn't touched since the day I married him. "It's me, Dad," I whispered as a fleet of black Maybachs rounded the corner. "The extraction is a go. I'm coming home."
