Chapter 1 1

Juliet's POV:

I continued to express my reluctance to my sister Nancy for what felt like the umpteenth time that day.

"I really don't want to go," I complained. The prospect of heading to a nightclub was not appealing, especially considering that my final exams were looming right after the summer break. To add to the stress, the generous teachers at my school had assigned a substantial amount of homework that needed completion before the school year began. As a student pursuing architectural engineering, I also had multiple pending projects and presentations to tackle – two of which remained untouched.

"Must I genuinely partake in this soirée?" My sisters have spontaneously conspired to embark on a nocturnal escapade. Their intent is not to jeopardize my scholarly pursuits; rather, they embody the epitome of sisterhood, displaying an unwavering dedication that knows no bounds.

The impetus for their nocturnal expedition is Sebastian's clandestine plan to propose to my eldest sister, Susan, under the veiled ambiance of tonight. His aspiration is to orchestrate an awe-inspiring surprise, and, naturally, our involvement is indispensable. The stratagem entails a collective night out with him and his cadre of confidants to meticulously craft an idyllic setting for the impending proposal.

"Rose, you're cognizant that Susan will harbor suspicions if you abstain. This holds tremendous significance for both of them. We must lend our support to Sebastian," Nancy asserted with conviction.

I endeavored to articulate my reservations, proposing the exploration of a more intimate venue for this momentous occasion rather than entangling ourselves with unfamiliar acquaintances.

"No, both of us are obligated to assist him, and..." Nancy hesitated.

"And what, Rose?" I queried, scrutinizing her with narrowed eyes. There's an underlying unease, for my sister is known for forthrightly articulating truths without trepidation.

"Guess what, I terminated the relationship with him," she divulged abruptly, leaving me utterly flabbergasted.

"Wait, what? You did what?" I inquired, my astonishment palpable.

"Yes, I severed ties with him because of infidelity," she responded with a tinge of melancholy. How could that scoundrel dare to betray my sweet sister?

"Rose, what precisely occurred?" I asked, harboring concern for her well-being.

"Well, we cohabitate. One evening, returning late from work, I discovered him ensconced in bed with another woman. Consequently, I promptly evicted him and unceremoniously deposited his belongings into trash bags," she succinctly recounted the episode.

"That despicable rascal!" I seethed, an ardent desire to unleash my ire upon him.

"Mind your language, Juliet," she cautioned, curtailing my outburst.

"Ugh!" I sighed in frustration, clenching my hands in proximity to my face.

Observing her visage, the sadness in her eyes was palpable. She and Jayden had been inseparable since high school, and despite harboring a fondness for him, I harbored serious reservations about his sincerity towards her. He exuded an air of duplicity, and I could never entrust my sister's heart to someone of such dubious character.

With a heavy sigh, I seated myself beside her, enveloping her in a consolatory embrace with my chin nestled on her shoulder.

"I'm truly sorry, sis," I offered in a sympathetic cadence.

"Hmm," she murmured, clutching my forearm and tracing soothing circles with her thumb.

"It's regrettable that you had to endure that ordeal alone. But I'm not sorrowful that you terminated the relationship; I'm actually relieved, for he is undeserving of someone of your caliber," I intoned softly.

She chuckled in response.

"And your decisive actions-booting him out and relegating his belongings to garbage bags-were absolutely justified," I injected a touch of humor into my voice as I disengaged my arm from around her.

"Thank you," she expressed gratitude as I rose from the bed.

"Now, let's figure out what to wear tonight," I suggested, ushering her to get up.

"Well, well, well... Look who's the most eager one here," she teased, tapping my nose.

"Yeah, I am, because I have a mission to accomplish. I'm going to be the wingman for both of my sisters and find you a handsome, sexy man tonight for some fun!" I exclaimed, almost shouting at the end.

"Huh?" Nancy asked with a laugh.

"Yeah, I'm going to be your wingman and ensure we all have a great time tonight!" I declared, linking our arms together.

"Now, let's see what to wear," I said, dragging her into the closet. She just laughed in response.

"Nancy, Juliet," my elder sister Susan announced with a knock on the door. Turning away from the mirror, I took a final look at my outfit a black glitter-beaded romper paired with a matching crop top. On the bed lay a black and blue jacket ready to be slung over my shoulder. Beachy curls flowed down to my waist, complementing a silvery smoky eye and pink nude lipstick. No jewelry adorned me, as my dress sparkled enough, and I opted for knee-high black boots with heels.

As I watched my sister gracefully swing open the door, my eyes quickly caught the details of her impeccable ensemble. Adorning a pristine white romper that boasted a tastefully high neckline, she strutted confidently in white ankle boots, their heels shimmering with a silver allure. Her makeup exhibited an artful blend of neutral tones, emphasizing her eyes with a subtle nude palette, while her lips donned a bold and sultry shade of dark red. Her hair, casually arranged in a chic and effortlessly messy bun, added an extra touch of fashionable nonchalance.

As the door swung wide, Susan stepped into full view, exuding an entirely different aura of glamour. Clad in a resplendent golden sheer cocktail dress that draped elegantly over her silhouette, she elevated her look with knee-length heels that accentuated her poise. Her makeup was a testament to sophistication, showcasing a resplendent golden smoky eye expertly complemented by a striking red lipstick. Susan's hair, meticulously styled with a sleek precision, added a touch of refined elegance to her overall appearance.

"Ready?" Susan inquired, her voice carrying an air of anticipation.

"Yeah, let's go and kick some sexy ass," I replied cheerfully, my enthusiasm matching the radiant energy of the glamorous scene before us, as I reached for my jacket from the inviting expanse of the bed.
