On the day of their 10th year anniversary, Eero caught her mate cheating on her, with no other than her sister! As if betrayal wasn't enough, her parents offered her to a notoriously ruthless Alpha as a breeder on the very same day. Left with no choice, Eero decided to fight back! She soon discovered that, behind his reputation as a cold-blooded tyranny, there was a soft spot in Alpha Claudius, which is only meant for her.

Chapter 1 No.1

Eero's perspective

"I'm gonna meet Cohen once we're done patrolling the border." I couldn't hide my excitement from Soleil, my best friend, as I said those words to her.

Stopping her footsteps, Soleil leaned towards my direction upon hearing this news.

"Oh yeah, it's your 10th anniversary today! I don't know how things are going on between you, but is Cohen showing some signs, hinting, or dropping clues that he would propose to you? It would be meaningful if he did it today. That would be a wonderful way to wrap up this decade of romance."

Soleil pouted her lips as she looked at me, waiting patiently to find out more about our plans for the anniversary.

What was I supposed to tell her? Cohen hadn't said anything about this day, but who knows? There might be a surprise waiting for me at home.

"Wait! Am I picking this up right? Does your silence means that Cohen, your mate for ten years, didn't get aything special about this significant day?"

"Here you go again. You're always too quick to judge. I'm sure that Cohen has got a surprise for me. Our 10th anniversary will be special. It has to be." I emphasized the last sentence to Soleil, and to myself.

Soleil only shook her head. She was not exactly a fan of my relationship with Cohen. She kept her lips shut most of the time because she knew how Cohen made me happy.

"You know what? I used to be jealous of you because you met your mate as early as you did. But oh girl, I don't think you're that lucky as Cohen turns to be this mate. It's like that he doesn't really care about you."

"Soleil! You're crossing the lin...Ouch!" A sudden strike of pain attacked my chest as I was about to warn Soleil to watch her words.

"Eero!" Panicked, Soleil rushed over to hold my shoulders.

I found I could hardly maintain eye contact with Soleil as my heart felt like getting stabbed by an invisible knife. As if bleeding profusely inside, I could barely breathe.

"You okay, Eero? You are scaring me!"

I could tell the dread in Soleil's voice, but couldn't utter a single word to calm her down.

My wolf was trying to deliver a message, which sounded unclear to me at first but then scared the hell out of me.

"S-Something happened back...at the p-pack house. I-I...must go back...right now. " I turned to Soleil despite the killing pain.

"You sure? You don't look well at all now. Shall I go with you as well?"

"N-No...you cannot. I-I need...you to patrol...a-along the border...f-fulfilling my d-duty here...t-today." I closed my eyes as the pain grew stronger. My wolf could barely handle it.

Although reluctant to let me go drive back alone, Soleil gave in eventually.

Back at the pack house.

I couldn't help but clutch my stuffy chest the minute I got out of the car.

My eyes went straight to the closed window of Serra's room on the second floor. I didn't know why, but my wolf was guiding me to that particular part of our house.

It didn't take me long before I found myself standing in front of my sister's room.

From the half-opened door came the sound of heavy panting and groaning.

It was a mix of man's and woman's voices, both so familiar to me that my heart was bleeding dry before I could even see what was going on inside.

My wolf ensured me that the man inside was no other than our mate, whom we'd loved for ten years!

Yet I chose to disregard what my wolf was trying to communicate to me. There was no way Cohen would do this to me!!

I'd always known that Serra, a spoiled brat, hated me. But she couldn't possibly hate me so much that she was stealing my mate from me!!!

"Deeper, baby. I'm cumming. Hit me deeper, ohh! Yeah, that's it! Keep going!"

"You're so fucking tight, Serra my love!"

The last string in my heart was cut off when Cohen said those words to my sister.

I burst open the door, only to find my mate on top of my sister, both naked.

Serra's legs were spreading wide to my mate.

"Eero?" Serra called my name.

I had thought she called out of scare because I caught them cheating on me. But then I realized that I was wrong.

She was in fact annoyed that I walked up on them fucking before they finished orgasm.

Seeing no trace of remorse in my sister's eyes, I charged forward and dragged her out of bed by her hair. Until she was finally standing in front of me, naked!

"You fucked my boyfriend, Serra? How could you?! You know Cohen isn't simply a boyfriend to me. He is my mate! Why? Why are you doing this to me?!" I yelled at her in despair, shaking.

"Because I want to. Because your mate isn't in love with you. He loves me. I fuck your mate because it feels good-" Serra smirked at me after managing to pull away from me.

"Serra!" Cohen, who had put on his pants in haste, pushed me onto the cold floor after I slapped her.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
