Sky and Aston were curled up together in one of the dead end alleys. Next to one of the few place in town that had warm air vent. Sky was starterled awake from her nightmare, of the past 6 years ago, by Aston tossing and turning whimpering. Even though Aston was ment to be her protector she always seemed to look out for him.

Chapter 1 Don't get caught

Sky

"Hey, wake up, hey come on we have to move." I say in a hushed voice. Shaking Aston's arm while he sleeps on his side.

"Hmmm...." he groans sleepy. "5 more minutes, please mom."

I groan and roll my eyes. Nows not the time for this, nervous thoughts float through my head. They're going to catch us if we don't move soon. I'm thinking as I hear the marching patrol with their staffs pounding the ground as they start getting closer to the side street we are on. 'Hmm... maybe a good swift kick will wake him'!

As soon as the thought crosses my mind Aston snaps his eyes open. He sniffs the air and scans the surroundings. "Let's move!" He orders and grabs my hand.

"That's what I was saying" I giggle slightly. I grab the tattered backpack that has what's left of my forgotten identity, a broken crown, two family crest patches, and a few scraps of food we have gathered during the day. Along with a water bottle, a small flint and steel. As he pulls me to close to him and towards the begin of the ally.

He whispers towards me, "stay closes this time they are moving faster tonight, they seem more determined this time. I told you this was a bad idea to come into the city tonight to sleep."

No point arguing now I think squeezing his hand. "Let's just go." I say looking down ashamed.

Aston grabs a small pebble from the ground and throw's it two allies down and starts counting in a whisper 1.... 2.... 3. "Now" he says as the patrol has all turned to where the rock has thudded.

Just before we start running, I spot a poster on the bulletin just out the alley, a young girl sitting Propper and from the glimpse I can get she's beautiful, and a tiara? some words are written on it as well. 'oh well no time to read it right now best to grab it.' Leaving I grab it as we run past than straight out of town and duck into the woods. We don't stop until we reach the bottom of the mountain.

"I... I... d. Don't think they saw us..." huffing out of breath with my hands on my knees, I manage to say.

Aston growls at me in a serious tone before turning away from me. "Yeah... so will you listen to my warning next time. Ugh... sometimes your impossible Sky."

"You don't need to be so mean about it you know." Rubbing my foot mossy earth.

"Lucien, let's get a divorce," I said in a peremptory tone that was long overdue, the most decisive farewell to this absurd marriage. We had been married for exactly three years-three years that, for me, were filled with nothing but endless loneliness and torment. For three years, the husband who should have stood by my side through every storm, Lucien Sullivan, had completely disappeared from my life as if he had never existed. He vanished without a trace, leaving me alone to endure this empty, desolate marriage. Today, I finally received his message: "I'm back. Come pick me up at the airport." When I read his words, my heart leapt with joy, and I raced to the airport, thinking that he finally understood my love and was coming back to me. But his cruelty was far worse than I could have ever imagined-he was accompanied by a pregnant woman, and that woman was Carla, my closest and most trusted friend. In that moment, all of my previous excitement, all my hope, and all of our shared laughter and tears turned into the sharpest of daggers, stabbing into my heart and leaving me gasping for air. Now, all I want is to escape from this place that has left me so broken-to lick my wounds in solitude. Even if these wounds will remain with me for the rest of my life, I refuse to have anything to do with him ever again. He should know that it was his own hand that trampled our love underfoot, that his coldness and betrayal created this irreparable situation. But when he heard those words, he desperately clung to this broken, crumbling marriage, unwilling to let it end-almost as though doing so could rewind time and return everything to how it used to be. "Aurora, come back. I regret everything!" Regret? Those simple words stirred no emotion in me-only endless sadness and fury. My heart let out a frantic, desperate scream: It's too late for any of this!
