Grace Turner moved silently thru the woods, a wicker basket in a single hand, collecting herbs and plant life with a practiced eye. She moved like a ghost, her footsteps nearly inaudible at the moss-protected ground. Her long auburn hair flowed freely, framing her faded face and expressive inexperienced eyes. She wore a faded sundress and a pair of worn boots, nicely ideal for her solitary excursions into the woods.

Grace's heartache and solitude had led her to these woods, an area in which she could lose herself a few of the tall timber and babbling brooks, a place where she could escape the memory of that fateful night. She was living in Cedarbrook for almost a year, and the town's curious whispers had already faded, changed via the popularity of her unusual existence because the city's herbalist.

In her peaceful solitude, Grace reveled in her capacity to locate solace the various quiet sounds of nature. The calming heady scent of the woodland, the gentle chirping of birds, and the remote, flowing water were her regular partners.

As she bent to pluck a twig of a rare moonflower, her arms brushed against the sensitive petals, and a sense of tranquility washed over her. These moments in the woodland had been her break out, a quick respite from the painful reminiscences that plagued her desires.

They said that supernatural beings lived inside the forest, and as her palms gripped the cope with of her wicker basket, she couldn't assist but marvel if there is probably some truth to the one's stories.

The howling grew nearer, and her instincts screamed at her to return domestic. She turned to make her way again to the city, but a rustling in the underbrush stopped her in her tracks. Tension flooded her frame as she felt the presence of something, or someone, looking her.

"I... I do not know if I can assist," Grace spoke back, her eyes darting to the approaching sounds of the frenzied wolves. "You need to include me again to metropolis."

Lucas shook his head "There's no time, they're coming for me, and they won't forestall until they discover me."

Grace hesitated, torn among the stranger's plea and her own instincts for self-preservation. But her compassionate nature gained out, and she or he beckoned for Lucas to follow her. "Come with me, then. I recognize a place deep inside the woods in which we are able to hide."

With that, she turned and darted off the direction, Lucas following intently at the back of. Grace led him to a hidden cave, concealed in the back of thick vines and overgrown brush. It was an area she had determined at some stage in her wanderings and had kept secret from the townsfolk.

As they entered the cave, the howling of the wolves grew louder, and Grace's pulse quickened. She could listen the frenzied snarls and growls, making her wonder what ought to have sent them into such a rage.

Lucas huddled within the shadows, his respiratory ragged. "Thank you," he whispered, his gaze locked onto Grace.

She nodded in reaction, unable to tear her eyes far from his. It became as if a connection had shaped between them, cast in the chaos of this perilous stumble upon.

The minutes stretched on, the anxiety inside the cave palpable. The sounds of the wolves drew nearer, and Grace clung to her wicker basket, taking into consideration the usage of it as a makeshift weapon if the need arose.

Then, as all of sudden as it had all started, the howling receded. Grace and Lucas exchanged a perplexed glance, but it turned into clean that their newfound safety was tenuous at high-quality.

"You should depart," Grace entreated, her voice trembling. "I do not know what's taking place obtainable, but it's now not safe."
