The existence of werewolves remains elusive. Videos and tangible proof validating their reality are conspicuously absent. Could they merely be the imaginative creations of ancient storytellers and writers of fiction from days of yore? Or do werewolves deliberately conceal their identities? According to legends, being a werewolf is considered a curse, forcing them to transform during a full moon. However, the reality is quite the opposite. Being a werewolf is, in fact, a blessing and a privilege. I never anticipated becoming a part of this closely guarded lineage. I am Eliana Leticia De Vera, often referred to as She. Born and raised in the provinces, my parents sent me to Metro Manila for an education to escape poverty. It was there that I met Gwenevere Eriksson, a remarkable friend with a mixed Swedish and Filipino heritage. Her light brown hair and captivating light brown eyes demand a second look. There's an undeniable regal quality about her – she's practically a princess.

Chapter 1 C1

In the present era, concrete evidence of the existence of werewolves remains elusive.

Gwen became my classmate, marking the inception of our friendship due to the many commonalities we shared. It feels like she's my soulmate. I never expected that a beautiful and affluent girl like her would become my friend.

Rather than residing in the dorms, she invited me to stay in her mansion, citing her loneliness. For over three years, I've lived in the grand house, assisting Gwen with household tasks.

Many enigmas surround Gwen. First, her parents and brother are conspicuously absent from the mansion. Despite my lengthy stay, I've never caught a glimpse of them. Second, men in suits often linger around the school and Gwen's residence. This doesn't appear to concern her, leading me to believe she might be of royal lineage, guarded by distant protectors. Third, there are nights when Gwen vanishes without a word. I stopped inquiring since she accepted me wholeheartedly, and I reciprocated.

However, one day, Gwen unexpectedly ejected me from her home without any explanation. She made it clear she wanted me gone and never to see my face again. This deeply hurt me, as I considered her a sister. Though her motive remained a mystery, I attempted to understand.

"Have you heard? Gwen has been absent for a week, supposedly due to illness," a classmate informed me.

"Indeed, and she declined hospitalization. Eliana, isn't Gwen your best friend? Do you know the reason for her absence?"

I shook my head, equally clueless. Around the same time she evicted me, she stopped attending school. I now reside in the school dormitory.

As afternoon descended, I decided to visit Gwen. If she's truly unwell, she's alone at home with no one to care for her. The whereabouts of Gwen's parents remain a puzzle – she deflects conversation about them.

Using my key, I gained entry into Gwen's mansion. My heart raced upon entering the living room. Sofa beds were torn, the flatscreen TV cracked, and even the wooden chairs were broken. Panic surged within me; I sensed that Gwen was in danger. Racing upstairs to her room, fear and anxiety melded with each step. My mind conjured grim scenarios.

Upon opening her bedroom door, my gaze fell upon Gwen, huddled in a corner, her face buried between her thighs. She appeared physically unharmed but was undeniably naked. The thought of someone attempting to assault her brought tears to my eyes.

"Gwen? What happened? Are you alright?" I hurried towards her.

But I froze in my tracks when I met her eyes. The once brown orbs now radiated an eerie yellow glow.

In an instant, Gwen was before me, sinking her teeth into my neck.

Could it be? Is Gwen a vampire?
