Chapter 1

Waking up to the sound of the alarm she had earlier set on her phone, she groaned in frustration as she sat erect to study her environment.

Yawning, she winced to the rays that landed on her face and after a few minutes of adjusting her eyes to the light, She found herself still in the hospital with her mom lying on the bed.

She was sound asleep and she still looked beautiful.

Her mom extremely sick and needs a huge sum of money in other for her to have her treatment done.

Juliet would do anything to get her hands on such money.

Her mother meant the world to her and she won't be able to bear losing her mother.

She could still remember when her mother, would sew her clothes from rags she got from neighbors just to make sure she had something to wear.

Although they were poor, they were extremely happy together.

It was just the two of them and no one else.

Pecking her forehead, she checked her time only for her to find out that she was almost late for work.

In a rapid movement,she took up her bag on the table and left the room.

She decided to to trek to her work place since she had no money to board a cab.

On reaching the restaurant, she found her manager flaring up as always.

" Juliet you are late!" He yelled glaring at her but she didn't really care.

" I'm sorry it won't happen again" she said slowly making her way to the kitchen.

She came out ready to serve the ordered dishes.

She worked there as a waitress in a restaurant.

It wasn't a bad job but at least she could get her hands on money to survive.

Walking up to a couple, she flashed a smile before dropping the plates she had on the tray.

At a distance not so far away from where she stood, she saw some men staring at her.

" Waitress" one of them called clicking his hands gesturing her to come.

She went to them and took their orders.

Returning to them, she brought along a cup of coffee, sushi and a couple of other things they had ordered.

The constant sexy looks they gave her continued but she decided to ignore them.

" Here is your coffee" she said dropping their order on the table.

" And the rice?" The first guy asked

" I'll get it now" she turned to leave when one of them dragged her by the hand.

" You look like the fisty type" he said. His eyes ran over the length of her body admiring her sexy shape.

Juliet could all ready sense that he has a bad Intention.

She decided to bury her feelings inside.

Yanking her hand away from his, she turned to leave when he touched her butt.

This got her really annoyed. She hated when anyone touched her like that.

She glared at the guy before landing a hot slap on his face.

The man held his face tightly unable to believe a girl, a nobody slapped him.

Juliet loved the look on his face.

He straighten himself up and threatened to hit her but her words stopped him.

" Go ahead. What are you waiting for? Men like you love hitting ladies right?"She yelled not afraid of what could happen next.

He grabbed her by the arm digging his nails deep into her skin.

Taking up the hot coffee on the table, Juliet didn't hesitate before pouring it on him.

Everyone's attention drew to them as the man screamed in pain.

Stephen her friend came out rushing to the scene.

He was the one who helped her in getting a job at the restaurant.

This wasn't the first time Juliet has had an argument with a customer.

Stephen dragged her to the side.

" What did you do?" He asked.

" I did the right thing. I taught him a little lesson" she stared at the guy.

His face was red hot and his dress was messed up.

" I'll make sure you pay for this" he pointed to Juliet.

The manager rushed out on hearing the commotion.

" What is going on?" He yelled making everyone freeze in their position.

With all heads turned at him, he looked at the guy throwing the tantrums.

" Mr what happened to you?" He asked stepping closer to them.

" It's your useless waitress. She did this to me" he pointed slowly rubbing his cheeks.

The manager looked at Juliet.

She rolled her eyes and held the tray close to her chest.

" Is this true?" He asked.

" Yes it is. I only did it because he..."

" I don't want to hear your explanations" he interrupted cutting her words short.

" But you.." she tried to speak again. The manager raised up his hand gesturing her to keep quiet.

She closed her mouth and folded her hands Into a fist.

" I think you should fire her" the first guy suggested.

Stephen shook his head and walked closer to the manager.

" Sir, I think we should hear from both parties" he suggested.

" That's enough Stephen. How long will you side with her? It's not the first time she has done something like this and you know it" he pointed to Juliet.

" What do you have to say?" The manager directed his question to Juliet.

Juliet bit her lower lip till a little blood formed on her lips.

She didn't regret anything. She believed such people should be thought an even greater lesson.

" I don't have to say anything. The only thing I will say is that he deserves it. I don't regret anything" she snapped rolling her eyes.

" It's either you apologize to my customer or you are fired" the manager said with his tone holding every form of anger.

Juliet looked at him in awe before shifting her gaze to the guy she had earlier poured hot coffee on.

A long smirk formed on his lips as he stared at her. Taking a step forward, Juliet stood in front of him exhaling.

As usual the manager would always side with the customer. She should have been used to this.

" I'm waiting" the man said slightly tilting his head at her.

" Fu*k you" she made the sign with her finger not giving a damn.

"You see, she isn't feeling remorse for her actions. Fire her now, or you will loose an important customer and that's me" he threatened making Juliet scoff at his words as well as his attitude.

" Juliet I gave you a chance to correct your mistake. You are fi.."

He wasn't able to complete his sentence as Juliet I interrupted him.

" Damn you all. I don't need your stupid job and I definitely don't need to apologize to some low life.

You can't fire me, you know why? because I quit" she dropped the tray to the ground. It made an unpleasant sound.

Before stephen could meet her,She was already out of the restaurant.

" What do you mean you quit?" He turned her around making her to look at him.

" That's it! I quit. You heard me. I can't work in a place that won't give me the respect I deserve" she said

She took out the ribbon from her hair which revealed her long silky hair which fell on her shoulders.

Stephen still had a confused look on his face.

He could remember when Juliet was eager to work and now she is quitting.

He thought of what to say to change her mind but before he could utter a word, Juliet had already left his presence.

Today wasn't just a good day for her.

The fact that she lost her job didn't affect her because she had another job which could help her to survive.

The buzzing sound of her phone attracted her attention.

She brought her face up to her face to view the caller ID, she figured out that it was madam Sasha.

Picking the call" Hello good morning ma'am" she greeted.

"Where are you? You should be here and not whenever you are.

Remember your day off has already ended so come back here.

Besides remember that Madam's sons will be arriving today and we need all the help we can get" she said over the phone.

" Yes madam Sasha. I'll be there, I promise" she said.

Still talking, she crossed the road but went numb when a car almost ran her over.

✨Airport

Standing outside the airport was the press waiting eagerly for the one and only Victor Gomez who was one of the most richest bachelor's ever known.

He is one of the owner of the world most renowned business.

Everything he owned, he got it through hard work and because of that, his company is number one in the rank.

The girlish screams and stares attracted the attention of everyone at the airport as their eyes met Victor.

The press gathered round him trying to get a glimpse of him.

" Are you ready?" One of the reporters asked.

The camera man nodded directing the camera to her.

"One, two and go" the man said.

" My name is Glen reporting live on CCMC as one of new York's most eligible bachelors Mr victor Gomez accompanied by his brother James Gomez is seen at NY international airport"

The camera man swiftly turns his camera to Victor and James who was slowly making their way out of the airport.

Soon, everyone crowded around them.

The bodyguards with them, tried to make way in order for them to get to the car.

" So tell us Mr Victor, what are your plans now that you have returned home after a long time?" One of the reporters asked but victor wasn't in the mood to respond to such questions instead he continued making his way to the car.

The bright lights from the cameras and phone's made him wince.

" Do you plan on settling down or Maybe perhaps, get married?" Another asked making victor freeze.

Scoffing at the question, he turned to look at the one who asked it.

"If you are in fact looking for someone to settle down with, I could be that person" the female reporter said flashing him a sexy smile which only irritated him.

"Really? I wouldn't think of settling down with someone like you.

You look like a bone on a stake" he said in a cold voice making everyone around gasp.

Some tried to hide their laughter while some outrightly went ahead to laugh making the female reporter feel stupid.

She ran out in tears feeling utterly ashamed.

Victor didn't feel remorseful for his Instead he continued his walk to his car.

" Sir, please we need you to answer some of our questions" the reporters said trying to move closer to him.

And although the bodyguards tried their best to keep them away from Victor, they kept following him till he got to his car.

The bodyguard near by opened the door and he got in.

James on the other hand, was enjoying the conversation with the press.

They took several pics of him and he readily gave answers to their multiple questions.

"What's up with him?" Victor asked staring at his wrist wratch before averting his gaze to his brother who had a smile on his face as they kept taking several pics of him.

" Boss, Mr James told me to inform you that he might take a while" the bodyguard informed.

Hissing" Drive!" He ordered and Immediately, the car drove off.

The long drive continued but stopped when the car almost ran over a girl.

Stepping out was the driver who ran to meet Juliet.

" Ma'am are you okay?" He asked moving closer to her.

Juliet who lay lifeless on the floor, sat erect and glared at the driver who knocked her off her feet.

" Are you blind that you can't see where you are driving. I could have died because of your careless act" she yelled staring at her dress which was stained with mud.

" I'm sorry but you came into the vehicle" he said bending down to her level.

She looked at her clothes. It was messy and dirty. She looked like one of those street dogs she usually see on the streets.

She was furious.

" You didn't see and that's why you almost killed me.

Look at my lovely dress. It's ruined all thanks to you!"

Still staring at herself, she stood up trying to dust away the dirt but it did not good.
