He pressed her hard against the wall but made sure to keep the little girl's head secure. His hands at his ex-wife's waist tightened as his trembling lips opened, his voice quivered as he whispered something near her ear. "I won't be a bad guy anymore, Xiara. Don't leave me again, okay?" he repeated it over and over again like chanting a spell, but the pit in his stomach only continued to grow. His eyes flashed with a bit of crazy obsessiveness and paranoia as the hand that had held Xiara's head a while ago gently stroked her head with great restraint. Tilting her head, Xiara blinked and asked, "Who are you?"

Chapter 1 Accident

"Let's divorce," were the first words Xiara heard after returning to her and her husband's home.

Her small face turned pale, resembling the color of bond paper. Her trembling pale lips opened as she spoke in an almost whispering tone.

"Why do you want to divorce me? Am I not enough already?" she asked, even though she already knew the reason behind this unexpected but imaginable event. She wondered why she wasn't enough.

Xiara's husband, Zachandro, dream lover or his first love in their youth had finally come back to Imperial Capital City Q.

Of course, this first lover of her husband... was her twin sister.

Xiara questioned her husband indignantly even though she already knew the answer to her own question.

Was she trying to rub salt into her own wounds by asking such a question, acting like a truly laughable little girl?

She had tried her best for almost five years, wasting her youth on a man who didn't love her back or reciprocate her feelings.

She changed her style, her personality, her tastes-almost everything about herself.

But in the end, there was no result, except for the one result she least wanted, the end.

She had become a mere shadow of her twin sister, almost using herself as a stand-in.

Every day, she laughed in madness, pretending to be happy, even though her husband only doted on her and pampered her because of her twin, who was abroad pursuing her dreams while Xiara stayed to take care of their parents.

Instead of being appreciated, she was condemned for 'snatching' what had originally belonged to her twin.

"It's none of your business. Our original contract stated that tomorrow would be the day our contract agreement would expire, but I can't wait anymore. I'm sorry for any inconveniences caused."

Zachandro said this with a cold voice to Xiara, whose face grew paler with each passing moment. As time passed, Zachandro opened his lips, but he didn't care and continued to speak while powerfully grasping an envelope in his hands and handing it to Xiara, who was still standing near the door, her legs wobbling.

"Sign it. After that, we will never have a relationship anymore and will just treat each other as strangers if we happen to meet on the street."

Xiara bit her lips hard, and blood oozed out. Gathering her courage, she walked toward her now-ex-husband, taking the divorce papers out of the envelope with both hands.

Her fingers trembled as she tightly clasped the golden fountain pen handed to her by her now-ex-husband, starting from the moment she signed the divorce papers.

Zachandro's breathing became stagnant, and he felt a momentary loss in his chest. But the thought of finally being with his dream lover soon made that feeling dissipate.

After signing the document, Xiara stood up, planning to go out and pack all of her things. However, Zachandro's cold voice rang out once again.

"You don't need to pack; your things are already outside, properly packed in boxes. You can just leave."

Xiara took a deep breath, holding back her tears, not wanting to make a fool of herself in front of this cold-hearted billionaire. She took a step forward toward the exit, finally leaving her original home.

The pouring rain hit her face hard, staining her cheeks with crystal tears, making it hard to tell if it was rain or tears. But the redness in Xiara's eyes explained everything-her miserable appearance standing at the door triggered something in Zachandro's heart.

He looked down at his former wife, wondering if she would cause trouble as she had in the past. However, after waiting, he saw nothing but a lifeless back.

Despite being wet all over and her clothes starting to show, she strode to her own car, registered it under her name, and drove away, ignoring the "properly packaged" things lying messy on the wet and cold ground.

The speed of her car was maxed out, and she paid no attention to her safety, wearing an expressionless face devoid of any light in her usually bright black eyes. Not until she finally saw a bridge did she show a happy and relieved smile. Now she knew she was doomed.

But she didn't regret it at all. On the contrary, she was quite happy because she would not become a martyr and do the hideous things that had been circulating in her mind-become a psycho.

She was happy because she could finally be free.

Except for one thing she regretted and was extremely sorry for-wronging someone,

"I'm sorry, baby, mom is selfish." A soft kick soon moved her stomach, making her smile from ear to ear as a crystal tear fell from her eyes. She stared at the upcoming bridge as she tightly gripped the steering wheel, welcoming the darkness that soon came as expected.

The Surrogate Lover of the Billionaire CEO was dead; her car was found on the newly built bridge.

For a while, all the rich individuals who had come into contact with Xiara before were in uproar, wondering what had happened to the woman they had known.

The news of her tragic end spread like wildfire, causing shock and speculation throughout wealthy circles. Many questioned why a seemingly content woman, blessed with material wealth, would meet such a tragic fate.

Despite the superficial charm and riches surrounding her, Xiara's life had been a maze of unfulfilled desires and emotional turmoil. The burden of living in her twin sister's shadow and being mistaken for someone she wasn't had slowly eroded her sense of self. She yearned to be loved for who she truly was, not for someone she was never meant to be.

The pain of constant rejection from the man she had given her heart to took its toll on her psyche, driving her to desperate measures. She had lost herself in the process of trying to please others, neglecting her own needs and happiness.

But as Xiara drove towards her ultimate destination, she finally found solace in the idea of freedom.

It wasn't an escape from her troubles, but rather a release from the shackles of a life that had confined her for too long. In her heart, she knew that being trapped in a loveless marriage was a fate far worse than any darkness she would face on the other side of the bridge.

As her car approached the edge, Xiara's thoughts briefly drifted back to her beloved child. She couldn't bear the thought of leaving her daughter behind, but the pain of staying was too great.

She hoped that in the afterlife, her child would understand the difficult decision she had made and that someday they would meet again.

With her heart pounding and tears streaming down her face, Xiara embraced the uncertainty of her final act. It was a decision borne not out of madness but out of a desire to finally take control of her life and destiny.

As her car plunged into the dark abyss below, Xiara's spirit soared. For the first time in years, she felt a sense of peace and resolution. In that moment, she was free from the burdens that had weighed her down. She had broken the chains that had bound her to a life she never truly wanted.

"Goodbye, my baby." As Xiara struggled to lower her head to cover her belly, tears fell from her eyes as she closed her eyes, adding to her murmur.

"Goodbye.... honey"
