Chapter 1 This person was none other than Chris Anderson!

Amid summer, in the state of California, USA (the State of California, commonly referred to as California), a rest stop on the highway.

After midday, the lazy sun cast its rays upon this place, genuinely giving off the feeling of a Wild West cowboy. The rest stop on the highway, located far from the centre of Los Angeles, had no trucks passing by, creating a sense of desolation and intense heat that made people uncomfortable.

In the afternoon, on the highway, it wasn't easy to even catch a glimpse of a passing vehicle. The sun brought forth a large, elongated shadow, stretching endlessly...

A man stood by the edge of Highway 800, resembling an obstacle on the road. With his left hand casually holding a Texas cowboy hat, he fanned himself with a breeze while his right hand made a gesture to hail a fully compliant international standard vehicle!

The man exuded a beautiful and dignified aura, but his ugly face always carried a smile that made others unable to ignore him. Every curve on his face was handsome, radiating a noble charm.

But...

What puzzled and widened one's eyes was...

This man was dressed extremely strangely because his upper and lower body was clad in shorts, with no fabric covering his upper body. Ah, that's right, he also had a hat in his hand.

The sunlight shone on his wheat-coloured skin, exuding a seductive and captivating allure.

This person was none other than Chris Anderson!

He is currently serving as the CEO of the Anderson family - Mr. Anderson!

Just two hours ago, he was happily driving his sports car, a Porsche, to admire the picturesque scenery, accompanied by a beautiful woman with a well-endowed chest whom he had just met the day before in glamorous California. Little did he know that after a discordant remark, that detestable woman took off all her clothes without saying a word and drove off in his car.

She even took all his money and mobile phone while at it!

"Who...?"

Having stood by the road for almost two hours, Chris Anderson sighed deeply. Then he sat in the middle of the highway, propping up his feet, using the hat as a fan and shield against the glaring sunlight.

Fortunately, the woman had a bit of conscience and didn't take everything, leaving behind a hat for him that could both provide relief from the heat and shade.

Chris Anderson looked at his entire body...

"If Damian and the other two accomplices see me like this now, I'll become a laughingstock!"

It wasn't difficult for him to imagine the appearance and expression of Damian Desmond, Matt Gient, and Norman Chambler - his three comrades-in-arms, who would undoubtedly find him a complete joke!

Because, until now, it had always been him who played pranks on others!

Damn it!

Why did he choose to go on an adventure in this manner in the first place, making it difficult for him to stop a car and seek help now?

While Chris Anderson was calculating how long it would take to "crawl" back to Los Angeles, he faintly heard the sharp sound of a vehicle approaching from afar.

Excited, he stood up and, finally, when he saw a car rushing towards him, he vigorously waved his hat!

The car almost stopped right in front of Chris Anderson's flesh...

On the deserted road, the screeching of brakes echoed loudly!

"Wow, buddy, has your car not been repaired for years?" In astonishment, Chris Anderson rubbed his ears while opening the passenger side door.

"Hey! Are you suicidal? Why did you stop my car?" The vehicle's owner was a middle-aged American man, stout in stature, with a beard and curly hair.

Chris Anderson enthusiastically looked at the car owner and explained, "It's obvious; stopping your car means I want to ride in it!"

The car owner had never seen someone so impolite before, let alone...

He frowned, silently evaluating Chris Anderson from top to bottom, and then disdainfully said, "Who am I to give you a ride? Did you come to beg for gold? You don't even have proper clothes!"

The car owner categorized Chris Anderson as an eccentric person in the company of unsavoury characters!

Chris Anderson sneered and waved his hand, saying, "I'll give you a million dollars if you take me to Los Angeles!"

"A million dollars?" The car owner exclaimed, then immediately began evaluating the man in front of him again.

"Well, sir? Will you go or not?" Chris Anderson looked at the car owner naturally, smirking slightly.

"Of course, I'll go!" The car owner replied immediately.

Chris Anderson felt a glimmer of hope; it seemed he had found an angel.

However...

Even though the car owner agreed verbally, his body remained motionless, standing still as if rooted to the spot.

They stared at each other for a while, and Chris Anderson awkwardly said, "Oh, that... I meant after we arrive in Los Angeles, I'll give you a million dollars!"

Swearing to the sky, his words were also heartfelt!

Indeed, anyone who could bring him back to Los Angeles now would receive his well-deserved gratitude!

But... when these words reached the car owner's ears, they sounded like a cunning wolf tricking Little Red Riding Hood!

His lips twitched, and after a second, he quickly retreated into the car.

"A million dollars? Do you think I was knocked unconscious by the California sun? Wait until you have the money to say such things!" After saying this, the car zoomed away like a rocket...

Chris Anderson wished he could throw a bomb into the trail of smoke left behind by the car!

Damn it!

Is there no way for him to return to Los Angeles from this desolate place?

Chris lay on the roadside, looking up at the sky, feeling the asphalt burning his back. Finally, he lazily stood up, yawning as he walked forward.

He didn't know how long he had been walking...

When he saw a dazzling pink Ferrari approaching, Chris Anderson finally saw the angel standing before him!

He swore that if he could leave this godforsaken place, he would worship the Almighty!

But...

As he ran towards the car, ready to put on a charming and "adorable" smile, he was surprised to find... no vehicle owner!

Huh? That's strange.

A Ferrari without an owner?

After looking around momentarily, Chris Anderson curled his lips in a mischievous smile...

Finally, he figured out a way to escape from this place!
