Chapter 1 Jane's Journey

Jane had always been fascinated by the way fabrics flowed and moved. As a child, she would spend hours playing with her mother's sewing machine, creating dresses for her dolls out of scraps of fabric. As she grew older, her love for fashion design only grew stronger.

Despite her parents' objections, Jane enrolled in a fashion design program at a prestigious university. She spent countless hours in the studio, sketching and draping fabrics until her designs came to life. With each new collection, her skills improved, and her reputation as a promising young designer grew.

One day, Jane received an invitation to showcase her latest collection at Paris Fashion Week. It was a dream come true, but also a daunting task. She poured herself into her work, spending months perfecting every detail of her designs.

Finally, the day arrived. As Jane watched her models walk down the runway, she felt a sense of pride and accomplishment that she had never experienced before. The audience was mesmerized by her use of color, texture, and movement, and the applause was deafening.

After the show, Jane was approached by several high-end fashion retailers interested in carrying her designs. She was thrilled, but also conflicted. She didn't want to compromise her values and create fast fashion that would harm the environment and exploit workers.

Instead, Jane decided to start her own sustainable fashion brand. She sourced materials from ethical suppliers, used environmentally-friendly manufacturing processes, and paid her workers fair wages. Her designs were not only beautiful, but also made a positive impact on the world.

Years went by, and Jane's brand became a global success. She continued to innovate and experiment, always pushing the boundaries of fashion design. But no matter how famous she became, Jane never forgot the joy she felt as a child playing with fabrics, and the passion that drove her to become a fashion designer in the first place.

As she looked back on her journey, Jane realized that fashion design was not just a job or a hobby, but an art form. The art of fabric, to be exact. And she was grateful to be able to share that art with the world.

My world revolved around Jax Harding, my older brother's captivating rockstar friend. From sixteen, I adored him; at eighteen, I clung to his casual promise: "When you're 22, maybe I'll settle down." That offhand comment became my life's beacon, guiding every choice, meticulously planning my twenty-second birthday as our destiny. But on that pivotal day in a Lower East Side bar, clutching my gift, my dream exploded. I overheard Jax' s cold voice: "Can't believe Savvy's showing up. She' s still hung up on that stupid thing I said." Then the crushing plot: "We' re gonna tell Savvy I' m engaged to Chloe, maybe even hint she' s pregnant. That should scare her off." My gift, my future, slipped from my numb fingers. I fled into the cold New York rain, devastated by betrayal. Later, Jax introduced Chloe as his "fiancée" while his bandmates mocked my "adorable crush"-he did nothing. As an art installation fell, he saved Chloe, abandoning me to severe injury. In the hospital, he came for "damage control," then shockingly shoved me into a fountain, leaving me to bleed, calling me a "jealous psycho." How could the man I loved, who once saved me, become this cruel and publicly humiliate me? Why was my devotion seen as an annoyance to be brutally extinguished with lies and assault? Was I just a problem, my loyalty met with hatred? I would not be his victim. Injured and betrayed, I made an unshakeable vow: I was done. I blocked his number and everyone connected to him, severing ties. This was not an escape; this was my rebirth. Florence awaited, a new life on my terms, unburdened by broken promises.
