When fate wants to bring two mates together, it has its way to do so. All Emma wanted was a fake boyfriend who wouldn't fall in love with her during their act and her choice was her mate who was a secret gangster and the secret son of the alpha. "No love or any feelings between us." She said to him. "But I can pin you down in bed and make you scream my name right?" The way they wanted each other truly, is the same way the enemies want him to get revenge.

Chapter 1 The escape

'If you ask me, I would blame myself for it all. I brought this upon myself. Only if I was warned back then, things wouldn't be this way. But was I a fool?'

Crashing sounds pulled the woman laying in a pool of blood out of her thoughts. She was bleeding endlessly from her wounds that showed the white flesh as she had gotten them not too long ago.

"I asked you to keep shut all through the ball, keep shut. One simple order and yet you decided to fail. You fool!" A masculine voice barked at her, making her whimper gently.

A man walked towards her and grabbed her roughly from the ground pushing her back to the floor which had shattered glass on it.

"I'm so sorry Robert. I never meant to. I'm so sorry, please forgive me." Her weak voice begged for his mercy but he only let out a harsh sound like laughter, filled with mockery and disgust.

"Everything you have, you are, simply can not be enough to get the opportunity I got that night. I signed a fifteen billion dollar contract and it would be enough to buy you." Grabbing her arms harshly, he pushed her to another glass table in the room.

The force of her body hitting the glass made it shatter and pierce her skin brutally. A cry escaped her lips as she felt numerous tingles all over her nervous system that sent pain shooting through her whole body.

'I should have never married him. I was a fool. I was blind.'

"Look at me, dear Briella." Robert pulled her into his arms and trailed his hands down her neck. "Not only that sweetheart. You tried to escape from me. Again."

A scream escaped her bruised lips as she was pushed down, her face hitting the floor. "I guess you haven't learned your lesson yet Briella. When I tell you something. You do it."

'This isn't you Robert. This was never the man I married nor dated for ten good years.'

"What did I do wrong for you to despise me, Robert." Her voice came out forcefully as it cut through the groans of pain.

"You want to know why I despise you?" Robert threw his head back and laughed in mockery again.

He walked back to the only table in the room that was not shattered due to his cruelty and picked up a glass of a brownish-golden liquid before gulping it down and hazard tugging his tie loose and tossing it aside.

"Remember back then when we were both in high school." He began as he rolled up the sleeve of his shirt with a smirk that revealed his evil thoughts. "You left Aidan for me."

He walked to the wardrobe and pulled off his watch, then roughen his hair. He pulled out a particular belt that brielle had seen too many times to forget the use.

"You were a fool to do so." He turned and moved towards her with the belt in his hands. "I never loved you Briella. I never did. And I never will."

An ear-piercing scream was heard from the room in the large mansion as the belt landed on her face down to her chest.

"Does it hurt Briella?" The question mockingly left his mouth. He enjoyed the view before him, as it was his favourite thing. "Ahh. I forgot you're pregnant. You seem so strong and you haven't had a miscarriage by now."

"Don't think about doing anything funny to my child Robert." Her voice hardened as she forcefully pushed back the pain she was feeling all over her.

"Now you've become all feisty little beta. Haven't you Briella?" He snapped his fingers and the doors to the room opened and another lady walked in with a mischievous smile on her lips.

"Wow. This makes me overwhelmed darling." The lady chuckled as she looked down at Briella. She wrapped her arms around Robert's neck and gave him a quick kiss before looking back down at Briella.

"I feel so bad for you Briella." The lady gave a sad face before a wicked smirk appeared on her lips. "I used to admire you a lot back then Briella. How brave you were! How beautiful you were but not anymore."

'I was too foolish to see the fact that Robert didn't love me throughout our years together. I did everything. Everything!'

"What do you want to do this time Robert? You've beaten me up. You've forcefully used me in bed. What else is left?" brielle asked with her voice shaking slightly.

"You still have that voice to talk, don't you?" The belt landed on her again but this time, it landed on her stomach down to her lap making her groan in pain.

"Let her be a sweetheart. She would die soon anyways." The other lady laughed wickedly. "I can't wait for tomorrow's headlines. After a nice time with another man, she was found dead, after being beaten up by some men."

"That won't be captivating enough, we'll look for something better." Robert gulped another glass of alcohol before cleaning his lips. "Deal with her."

"Speak all you have left to say brielle because they would be your last." A needle pierced into her neck and she felt something flow through her veins.

Immediately, she could feel the deadly impact of the injected substance in her body.

"I just wish I could go back in time to change my horrible mistake....."

"Briella...brielle wakes up." A distant voice called.

"Briella...."

Brielle eyes fluttered open and she immediately shut them as the bright lights obstructed her vision.

"brielle are you okay?"

brielle opened her eyes again and turned her head. 'A basketball field? Where am I?'

brielle sat up and looked at the girl who looked just like her best friend when she was 17 years of age.

"What happened to me? Where am I?" brielle groaned as she touched the area where she was injected earlier.

"You're in school, Briella. OceanVille high school."

'Highschool? What the heck happened.'

"Oh my goodness your face is swollen." The girl gave her a mirror and as brielle looked at it, a shocked scream escaped her lips.

But Kael couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. And when strange things began to happen at the base camp, he knew that he had to investigate. It started with little things, like missing supplies and misplaced gear. But then, one of the soldiers went missing, and Kael knew that something sinister was afoot. He teamed up with Zyra and a few other trusted soldiers, and they set out to investigate. Their search led them to a hidden bunker deep in the desert, hidden beneath the sand dunes. Inside, they found evidence of a nefarious plot, one that went far beyond the scope of their mission. They had stumbled upon a terrorist cell, one that had been planning an attack on their home country. And the cache of supplies they had found was just a small piece of the puzzle. Kael and his team knew that they had to act fast. They relayed their findings to their superiors and were given the green light to take down the terrorist cell. They infiltrated the bunker and engaged in a fierce battle, one that lasted for hours. But in the end, they emerged victorious, the terrorists apprehended, and their mission a success. As they traveled back home, Kael couldn't help but think about the irony of the situation. They had gone out into the desert looking for a sign of hope, and instead, they had stumbled upon an evil plot. But in a way, he realized, it was all part of a greater struggle. A struggle that involved not just their physical safety but also the safety of their country and their fellow citizens. He looked over at Zyra, her eyes twinkling with pride and admiration. "We did it," he said, his voice full of conviction. "We not only survived, but we also saved countless lives." Zyra smiled at him, her gaze unwavering. "Together," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "We made a difference." And as Kael looked out at the world around him, he felt a sense of purpose and a renewed sense of hope. For they had not just survived, they had triumphed. And he knew that, no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would always be ready to face them together. As Kael and Zyra celebrated their victory, they couldn't help but reflect on the sacrifices they had made along the way. They had lost friends and comrades, and they had come face to face with the darkest parts of humanity. But through it all, they had managed to hold on to their humanity, to their sense of purpose, and to their bond. As they arrived back at their home base, they were greeted with cheers and applause. The news of their successful mission had spread, and they were being hailed as heroes. But as Kael walked towards the debriefing room, something caught his eye. It was a man in a suit, watching him from a distance. Kael's instincts told him that this man was not there to celebrate their victory, and he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck starting to rise. He motioned for Zyra to follow him, and they slowly made their way towards the man, all the while scanning their surroundings for any signs of danger. "Excuse me, sir," Kael said, his voice firm but polite. "Can I help you with something?" The man just smiled at him, a thin, almost sinister smile. "I was just passing through," he said. "I heard about your mission and wanted to offer my congratulations." Kael didn't buy it. He could sense that this man was up to something, and he knew that he couldn't let his guard down. "Thank you," Zyra said, stepping forward. "But we have to get to our debriefing now. Maybe we can talk later?" The man nodded, but Kael could still sense that something was off. He made a mental note to keep an eye on him and headed towards the debriefing room. But as he sat down and started to go over the details of their mission, his mind kept drifting back to the man in the suit. Who was he? What did he want? Chapter Eight: Kael knew that he couldn't just dismiss his instincts. He had to find out more about this man, and fast. He excused himself from the debriefing and headed towards the command center, where he knew he could access the network and run a search. As he typed in the man's name, a wave of shock and horror washed over him. The man was not just some passing well-wisher. He was a high-ranking member of the organization that they had just taken down. And he was still at large. Kael raced back to Zyra's side, his heart pounding with fear and adrenaline. "Zyra," he said, his voice urgent. "We have to get out of here. The man in the suit, he's a terrorist. He's part of the group that we just took down." Zyra's eyes widened with shock and fear. "Are you sure?" she asked. Kael nodded. "I ran a search. He's still at large. We have to go, now." They sprinted towards the exit, but they were too late. The man in the suit was waiting for them, flanked by a group of heavily armed terrorists. "Well, well," he said, his smile twisted with malice. "Looks like we have some unfinished business." Kael and Zyra knew that they were outnumbered an
