In many rich home, maids are treated as if they are worthless, or at the bottom of the chain. however, in reality, they own, not just the property, but also the lives of everyone in the house. Yes, they can kill whoever they desire and save whoever they deem it fit, but it all depends on many factors. This story is about Raphael, the sole heir of Calipas Clan in New Zealand. Raphael birthright was stolen by the maid from birth and replaced by the arrogant Reuben, the son of a peasant who happened to be born same time with time and place with Raphael. As a revenged for the slap received by the madam of the house when they met for the first time.
Chapter 1 Lollipop
The head-maid, Lollipop, was fighting with the heir of the house in a chamber designed just for employees and maids. She has no clue, however, that Christy, one of the maids, is standing at the window. Prior to the event, Christy was watering the plants in the garden when she saw Lollipop, the head-maid, carrying the son of the house to a secluded spot of the Calipas' home in the workers quarters. This was strange since all the maids knew the two had a beautiful connection, similar to that of a mother and a son.
Christy wonders why Lollipop had the audacity to pull the son of the house to the maid quarters. What piques Christy's interest even more is the notion spreading about the Mansion that Reuben would marry Nikky, the pompous daughter of the head-maid. The maid's daughter has been strutting about the estate as if she owned it. She has no regard for anybody and dominates everyone around her as if they were her personal maid. They accept her because they have no option since they are all under Lollipop's power as the headmaid. Christy let her curiosity get the better of her and stood at the window. She didn't hear anything at first. She was ready to leave when she heard the furious voice of Reuben, the Prince, and was taken aback as she listened in on their argument.
Lollipop: I've taken care of you my whole life and treat you as if you were my own. I used to make you wish I was your mother. Why are you unable to accept my daughter as your wife? Your 18th birthday is in two months, and you will be expected to properly welcome your wife into the family. Why are you so set on marrying that person, Abigail? Is this because we come from a poor family?
Reuben: Aunty, you may request anything else; you know I'll do anything for you, right? Please, however, do not ask me to marry Nikky. That is something I will not be able to accomplish.
Lollipop: (loudly) Who the heck do you think you are for rejecting my daughter? Do you have to marry her? You really must. Do you understand why? Because you are my work.
That word triggers a memory in Reuben's heart. Reuben: Lollipop, you pulled me here to tell me this, you dragged me here to tell me this. How do you see me as your creation? Sometimes you remind me of my mother, and other times, like right now, I'm not sure where to put you. You sound like a stranger to me, which leads me to question who you are. But first, I'd want to know how you created me. (I hope that's not what he's thinking...)
Lollipop swiftly cut in and proceeded before Reuben could let his thoughts go wild.
Lollipop: Silly, have you ever considered why you don't resemble any of this family's members? I'm sure your folks are curious as well. Or maybe they have discovered, given their connections and financial resources, that you are not their biological child....
Reuben: Hold for a second, Reuben, what are you trying to communicate here? Are you...are you...are you...
Reuben's expression shifted as he stammered with a crack voice, his heart and pride tearing into a million pieces. All of his concerns began to materialise. Lollipop, his nanny and headmaid, was the lady he adored like a mother. His heart had warned him that anything Lollipop said would be significant. But he wasn't sure whether he was prepared for this news. He has been dotted on and regarded as the lone successor in the whole clan of Calipas his entire life. Yes, he had everyone and everything at his disposal. His peers are envious of him. Many upper-class parents have introduced him to their daughters so that he might select from them. When he was ten years old, he was in an accident and was transported to the hospital, and he discovered that none of his parents' blood groups matched his. Even his parents had stopped doting on him. They stopped bringing him to high-status events. They stopped paying attention to him as they used to. They sometimes treat him as if they had no idea who he is. He still receives his stipend and all the money he desires, but he is estranged. He is continuously looking for the love and closeness he has with his parents, but he cannot find it. Instead, while she is not operating her own fashion company, Lily will always remain inside. She seems depressed, and the grin that had always been on her face has fled. Reuben last saw his parents really happy before the disaster on his tenth birthday. He was surrounded by servants and felt really lonely. His mother, who used to usually eat a dinner with him, got overworked. His parents would often remind him, "Hey, Reuben, you're ten now; you should learn to grow on your own."
At the time, Reuben believed that turning 10 meant separating from his parents. He made every effort to accept it and now lives in his apartment with his own maids and bodyguard. He has everything he needs except loneliness. He had the impression that he had lost his parents, but he couldn't figure out why.
Lollipop brought her kid Nikky to play with Reuben at that time in his life. At the time, it was a pleasant change. However, as they get older, Nikky becomes more disrespectful and wants to intervene in everything he does. That piqued Reuben's interest. He tolerated her since her mother is kind to her. The irony is that, although Reuben regards Nikky as a little sister, particularly because she lacks one, Nikky has already declared Reuben to be his partner and eventual spouse. Reuben didn't give it much thought when it initially began. He assumed the haughty female was only attempting to deter ladies from flaunting herself on him. It wasn't until one of their college gatherings when Abigail, one of the most beautiful but timid girls in school, who has had a love on Reuben since kindergarten, mustered the bravery to approach him. Reuben's heart began to race the instant he spotted her. He realised he had a crush on Abigail but was terrified of meeting her. This is due to the fact that tales move at a breakneck pace. Yes, Abigail has a reputation for rejecting males who approach her for motives other than academics. Reuben, on the other hand, was at the top of the list of hotties, with all of the high school females falling at his feet. But Reuben is solely interested in Abigail, who doesn't seem to notice him at all. Reuben can't forgive Nikky for pretending to be his girlfriend in front of Abigail.
