She said she wants to end it all....
It's the same everyday. The teacher quizzes us on theories and I try to ignore them with my music. No one really cares here anyway. Their only thoughts are about drinking every day. Some kid in the far right corner, I think his name is Tim, raises his hand to answer, mainly so the teacher will move on. I vaguely remember hearing the next questions as I turn my music up full blast, and drift off. The next thing I know, someone is shaking me awake.
"Hey, Breen, you awake? Come on, class is over. We need to go."
I open my eyes and see the entire class room is in shambles. I look up and see something I never imagined was possible; here was the school weirdo standing over me in a seemingly protective stance. I'd seen from a distance since middle school, but here he was standing me over as if he had been protecting me. These huge BLACK wings spread out behind him. He's looking past me and slightly toward the right. As I turn to look, there is another kid, who I've never seen before, with wings otherwise identical to the other one's except white, looming over us with nothing but disgust in his eyes.
"Why did you save that pathetic," he spits, "little human, Tenebris? His kind have done nothing but torture you, yet here you are, risking your life for such despicable creatures. Perhaps this little bug means something to you."
His eyes narrow until they were almost slits; his pupils nearly invisible. Tim looks at me and back at the white-winged figure whilst a low, almost growl, flows seemingly from his very core. The ground around us starts to shake and suddenly the classroom materials seem to fly at this mysterious stranger.
"They may have tormented me all these years, but no one deserves death. Not even your pathetic ass, Lumen."
He sneers and a demonic look crosses his face. I apparently flinch, because he looks into my eyes and a curious look crosses his face then he promptly scoops me up into his arms and flies out the door away from the white stranger, Lumen. Tenebris, Tim, or whatever the hell his real name is, grasps me tightly as we soar higher and higher into the sky until I can't see what had once been my school, and my prison.
Bridledtun, Ashrden will never be the same.
