Chapter 1 Prologue
Vampires were roaming the Earth a thousand years ago, viciously slaughtering innocent people. They consume their flesh and drink their blood. The fear of vampires was so enormous that they began infiltrating even the mountains and forests. The wolves strive to stop the vampires' terrible plan to control the world and have a limitless supply of meat.
Their clash sparked the Great War between wolves and vampires. The wolves are intelligent, and they successfully outwit the vampires, allowing them to win the battle. They annihilated all vampires, eliminating the threat of vampire invasion from the world.
It has been a thousand years, but no vampires have been seen or reported. Some say they are already extinct, while others believe they are a fiction created to scare children. The wolves attempt to blend in with humans and live normal lives.
I am Tihana Florentia Herrera, the sole daughter of Florentino Carvo Herrera, a full-blooded wolf who leads the wolf-vampire war. My mother is a normal woman who lives in a mansion in the middle of the woods. My father fell in love with her one-of-a-kind beauty. They have married and intend to live together. The wolf pack supported and approved their marriage.
Since my mother is a human and lacks the ability to be immortal, my father gave a witch his sight in exchange for the power to make my mother immortal. My mother is capable of changing into any feathered creature. The witch also promises that their children will be granted power when they reach the age of 16. My brother Tiano Florentio Herrera possesses the power to transform into any animal with scale. He is regarded as one of the most formidable mixed-blooded wolves because of his capacity to transform into a dragon, but he has been ordered never to do so in order to prevent chaos and to keep the world safe.
Everyone anticipates that, like my oldest brother, I will possess a vast power that has the capacity to both save and destroy a nation. Some of them think that I might surpass him in power.
My 16th birthday is today, and we are currently waiting for the witch to arrive and verify my power. I'm excited to learn about and use my powers, and everyone else is too.
"Tihana, happy birthday," my mother remarked.
She kissed me on the left cheek. My father was standing beside her. He tries to imagine what I look like by carefully touching my face.
"Happy birthday, my daughter; how I wish I could see your face grow up," he said.
I can feel his sorrow and sacrifice in order to provide us with a wonderful family.
"Thank you, mom and dad," I said quietly as I hugged them.
My brother, who doesn't give a damn about me, is standing in front of the door, his eyes closed. Is he asleep again?
He has a strange impression that someone is standing behind the door.
"Someone is standing behind the door," he said.
Tiano had already opened the door before the person behind it had a chance to knock.
The witch is behind the closed doors. She has that horrible smile and hideous face. Just seeing her makes me feel like I'm in a nightmare.
"Is this your daughter?" she inquired.
She's staring at me with those menacing eyes. I don't think I can even let her touch my hand. I feel so unsafe, or maybe I'm just being too harsh.
"She is our only daughter," my father replied.
She kissed the back of my hand.
"You've grown into a really lovely young lady," she continued.
She clenched my hand, which terrified me and made me feel discomfort.
Because of the pain, I try to take my hand away from her.
What on earth is she doing? Is she causing me pain on purpose?
Because I was afraid, I ran into my father's arms and held him tightly.
"Your daughter's power is quite strong," she remarked.
My uneasiness gradually transforms into enjoyment. I'm delighted I have a powerful ability that can benefit our clan.
My mother and father are also delighted. They appear ecstatic after hearing what the witch stated.
"Her power could solve an issue or perhaps start a war, but there is a dilemma," she explained.
"What exactly is it?" my father inquired.
"Her power is pointless," she declared.
How come my power is both powerful and useless? Because of what I had heard, I felt ashamed. The wolves around us appear to be sad and disappointed as well.
"If you were born a thousand years ago, you would be one of the strongest wolf blooded," she remarked.
I felt like tears were going to pour from my eyes, but I knew I had to hold them back. My mother comforted me by hugging me and rubbing my back.
"You have the power to tame even the fiercest vampire by being their wife, but there is no longer a vampire in our world," she explained.
