Mia worked hectically as a slave in the Hugo pack after running away from her own pack who rejected her because she was wolf less, not knowing that it was a rival pack. She soon found out that her mate was Oliver, the Future Alpha of the pack. She got into a fight with the adopted daughter of the Alpha and was to be killed. She was eventually saved by Oliver but Oliver show no interest in her for some reasons. Mia questioned him why he would save her but choose not to be with her. Did she get back with Oliver?

Chapter 1 The Beginning

Mia crawled on the dusty, sandy ground after being knocked down by Julia. She gazed at Mia for a moment, expecting her to get back up on her feet but deep down within her, she noticed with the way she crawled a little distance away from her - it would be difficult for her to do that. Julia threw her hands in the air at the instant she heard the roars and chants of all members of the pack. She chuckled with a sense of accomplishment. Julia noticed Mia's pale expression and read it as regret for having gotten on her nerves.

Mia had just gotten into a fight with Julia neglecting the fact that Julia was part of the Royal Family of Alpha Oscar, who ruled over the pack while she herself was just a mere slave. Though Julia was not related to him by blood. It was rumoured that Julia Father was a guard to Alpha Oscar and the most trusted of all the other guards. But there came a time when Julia's Father fought alongside Alpha Oscar during a war that broke out when Julia was a little girl. Julia Father died, striving to defend Alpha Oscar as he was stricken with a rod that pierced right through his heart.

Alpha Oscar got back with the rest of his bodyguards to give Helen, the mother of Julia, the sad news of her mate's death. Both Helen and Julia cried but they could do nothing. Helen could not live all by herself, knowing that her mate had died. Without saying goodbye to Julia, she killed herself, holding on to the belief that dominated her mind. "This is my fate."

Julia upon figuring out about her mother's death could not take it. She became quite weepy, so weepy that she forgot she was being consoled by Alpha Oscar. Despite being a little girl, she unleashed her wrath on him, twisting his fingers so that he would lose his hold on her. Alpha Oscar saw her potential and her keen ability, thereby deciding to take her in as his daughter and nurtured her with great care and attention.

Mia gasped for air as she breathed heavily. She glanced through all that surrounded her in search for a weapon she could use against her but could not find one.

"Get up, Mia, this would be your end." Julia growled. She shifted back to her wolf form, already on a stance and at alert to knock Mia down if she was to make any move. Mia looked at her with a straight face. "If only I had my wolf, I would have been done with you by now." Mia whispered, silently, regretting and questioning herself why she seemed to be different from everyone else.

Though Mia had turned eighteen, her wolf did not show up. It was as if it had been locked away. She would always beat herself up. She got up slowly from the ground and back on her feet already caked in dust. She shook her head sideways but swiftly in an attempt to dust off her face. She ran like a lightning bolt towards Julia but Julia grabbed hold of her hand such that the bracelet on Julia's wrist cut off and the beads were strewn all over the ground.

Julia fidgeted, kneeling on the ground and staring at the spoilt bracelet. She recalled how Ava, the Luna of the Hugo pack, gave her the bracelet during her eighteenth birthday. She cherished it ever since then. She screamed out with a high pitched voice and looked solemnly at Mia with a straight face. Mia who was standing before her was bold enough to look back at her

Julia got up from her feet, seeing the rest of the slaves that gathered around her. She felt embarrassed and walked away. She recalled how at the time when she was passing by the field with two guards behind her. She decided to take a walk around the field and oversee the slaves that were working. Mia, who was transporting some wood from one side of the field to another, was not aware of Julia's presence. She turned to notice her when she stumbled on a rock and was about to fall. Mia could sight everyone bowing their heads to her. She chuckled and questioned herself. "Is she that important, after all, she is not his real daughter."

"She is just lucky." She again volunteered an answer. Mia looked away from Julia as she got to where she was and bent down to pick off the wood that fell off from her hand. Julia expected her to do the same thing every other slaves did to her. Mia stared at her with a straight face and pressed on with her gaze on her. Exasperated by her attitude, she shook her head and asked, "When did you get here?"

Mia replied with a grunt and moved backwards standing a few strides away from her. "I don't know, maybe you should ask the guards who brought me here." She answered and walked away, passing beside her such that she brushed her shoulder against hers. Julia was infuriated, she turned around, facing Mia and grabbed hold of her hair and that was made possible because Mia got long blonde hair that extended towards her butt. She would always braid it so that they wouldn't get dirty whenever she was to work on the field, unlike Julia whose hair was dark and shoulder length.

With the aim of making an example of her, she fought with her and ordered the guards that accompanied her not to interfere.

"Mia, Mia... what is going on?" Amelia asked, "I heard about the fight and She paused, waiting for Mia's response. Mia drifted into silence.

"You don't mean to tell me that you just fought with her," She whispered, "This is no good, you'll be punished... you got here not up to two weeks and you've gotten an enemy," Amelia sighed. Mia advanced a little bit forward, stepping gingerly over the stoney ground as she was barefooted.

Amelia was the best friend of Mia and the first she would ever talk to. Amelia was the talkative type of girl. Amelia, on seeing Mia after figuring out that she was new to the pack, made an attempt to converse with her. Mia won't say anything nor reply to her. Amelia could not even get her name at their first meeting. "Why won't you say anything," Amelia questioned petulantly. Few days after Amelia's failure, It was the fourth day of Mia's arrival at the Hugo pack clan. Amelia was ordered to pack some dirt that was strewed at the field after one hell of a strenuous work. She murmured but yet got no choice.

She gathered all the dirt and transposed them into a wooden box in order to dispose of it on a heap of already burnt dirt. She grunted, lifting up the wooden box. She was almost at the spot to bring down the box from her head, when she stumbled upon a rock that was attached firmly in the ground. The wooden box fell and all the dirt sprawled all over the ground. A guard rushed to her and slapped her at the instant she faced him. She was scolded and slapped numerous times.

Mia yelled out with a high pitch sound at the werewolf guard and already in a slightly aggressive stance. "How could you slap her, don't you have any shame." Mia grinned. The guard turned to face Mia.

"And what audacity have you got to talk to me like that." He growled and raised his hand to grab Mia. Mia who got some reflexes as she had learnt the Martial art skill, got hold of his hand and pulled him swiftly to herself. She gave him a headbutt at the instant the guard was close to her.

Mia challenged the werewolf to a duel. The werewolf being a guy felt belittled by Mia's attitude towards him. He fought with Mia but was defeated by her not until he called out to the rest of other werewolves watching over the slaves. Though she was beaten up, ever since then Amelia had respected Mia as she thought of her as a strong and brave girl not to talk of her beauty. She was fond of Mia and with time became friends with her.

Mia at an instant, held her forehead with the tip of her finger with her eyes closed. She shook her head sideways, trying to get herself together. `What's going on, what feeling is this,'' she thought to herself. Amelia noticed her unsteadiness and reached out for her by stretching her hand but stopped when she heard the name, Oliver, rose up into the sky such that it filled the entire pack.

"Who is that," Mia asked

"The son of Alpha Oscar and probably the Future Alpha," Amelia responded, smiling and looking at the direction from where the noise was coming.

Oliver had just gotten back from an adventure of his after a few weeks. He was known for his strength and abilities. He was not the type to give up or run from a fight as many of the pack members have seen him fight enemies countless of times.

Mia turned to look at Amelia and soon figure out that Amelia was into the so called Oliver

"Come on, Amelia... you already fell for him," Mia said and threw a friendly slap across her back.

"Yeah, Anyone would want him, His greenish eyes were so attractive and alluring but..," Amelia paused. Mia wanted to ask her why she stopped talking but Amelia hurried away from her. Mia thought about what she said and thought back to the feeling she had before hearing the chant of his name.

``Could it be what I'm thinking... if it's not that, then why else would I feel that way," She pondered

``Oliver, you're the one, after all this while, I found you," She concluded with a perfect smile on her face.
