Chapter 1 Finally pregnant

The weather at Jedborough was clear and sunny a few minutes ago, but now it was cloudy. It seemed that strong rains would fall.

Rebecca James was waiting anxiously for the test result in the central hospital.

Her menstrual period was a week late, and she wondered if the result would be how she anticipated it.

She didn't hold him up for a moment, and she went directly to the hospital to get a blood test.

The processing of waiting for the test result was torture.

Rebecca prayed secretly in her heart, hoping that her wish could be granted this time around and that she could be pregnant.

She had been marrying Joseph Moore for three years now, but she had not been able to get pregnant all this while.

She was very anxiously inwardly.

Besides, her mother-in-law had been urging her all the time.

Over the recent years, she had become very anxious because of that affair.

Currently, her gaze was glued to the display screen above the laboratory.

"Rebecca James..." At long last, the loudspeaker announced her name.

The moment Rebecca received the results, she was over the moon.

She was pregnant.

They had been married for three years now, and she was finally pregnant with Joseph's child.

It was wonderful. She certainly had not gained that child easily.

She took her phone impatiently. She then call Joseph since she wanted to tell him the good news.

Toot, toot...

The phone rang for a long time and no one received it.

Just when Rebecca wanted to hang up the call, there was a soft and tender voice on the other side of the phone."May I know who this is?"

Rebecca heard it was a woman's voice, so she knitted her eyebrows. 'Could I have made an error? '

So she immediately said, I'm sorry I've made a wrong call."

After hanging up the call, Rebecca looked at the phone again carefully to confirm if she had called the wrong person or not. 'That's not right. I did indeed call Joseph. Why did a woman pick it up?'

She was knocked out for a moment with another kind of fermenting sentiment in her heart.

At first, she wanted to call him back. However, when she saw the weather outside, she hastened to meet the physician with the result.

After the doctor made the confirmation again, she eventually got insured.

On the way home, the weather was unfavorable. It was raining cats and dogs.

Rebecca hailed a taxi to head home.

Through the car window, she realized that the rain was not stopping at all.

The rain droplets rolled down the car window, creating a curtain of water there.

.as she was waiting for the traffic light, the rain finally become lighter. She casually raised her head and took a look. Suddenly, a Cayenne appeared in her vision. What was more important was that the number of its license plate was six sixes.

'Isn't that my husband's car?'

In Jedborough, Joseph was a business tycoon who was known to everyone. Everyone was also well aware of his car. Rebecca leaned slightly forward. Vaguely, she could see a long-haired woman sitting in the shotgun seat of the car. Not only that, but the woman also seemed to be snuggling up to Joseph at that moment.

Rebecca witness the scenes clearly since that cat was near, and the rain had become slightly lighter.

She felt as though her heart had been pierced by multiple needles. It was excruciating.

"Are you alright?" The driver looked at Rebecca, who had turned slightly pale, through the rearview mirror and asked. She was in a trance. Hence, the driver questioned her concern.

Rebecca held the test result in her hand tightly. She forced herself to shake her head. "I'm...fine."

Joseph and Rebecca's accommodation was a single villa in the suburbs with beautiful scenery. Rebecca did not notice at all how she got into the villa.

When she reached home, she put all that she gold down neatly and sat on the sofa. After considering it for a little while, she finally summoned up her courage and made a call.

"Hello, Joseph. There is something I want to tell you..."

The call had just been answered, but she had only managed to say a few words before the call was hanging up. It seemed reluctant her call. Soon, a bitter pain engulfed Rebecca's heart.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
