Chapter 1 Beginnings

"Bella There are set to leave; Dad announced as I sprang up from the golden chair and walked towards them.

"Hope you are getting prepared dear ",One of the men asked with a sweet smile on his aging face.

"Yes she is Dad answered ;patting my shoulders in the process.

I wonder why he's showing so much care, in front of the visitors and what did he mean by that .? I strolled back to my classic but lonely room , lonely yeah ! That was what I actually felt in my life . I took a seat in the large sized bed and let my eyes wander ,to my desk littered with my closet pals ,my books and the picture of my mom .

My mom , I actually do miss her and Dad doesn't mention her, because He apparently doesn't have time.I craved for him at an early age but I know better now .

"Sir sends for you "One of the servants said

On getting to the sitting room ,Dad sat on his favourite chair with an expressionless look on his face .

"You called me father "

"Seat"

" I like you to begin your training soon"; he said in a calm tone

" Training " she echoed "I want to go to college and study

"College"he exhaled sharply " You need the training to protect yourself , I won't always be there for you"

"I don't want "she pressed "I can take care of myself and this isn't the civil war I would be fine.

" Really and you still hold your pillow before going to bed"

"The room is too big" she retorted

"The world is too big , you need training"

This isn't a question of what you want and moreover I have seen to it that your feeding and accommodation are well taken care of, Any thing you like to know ?

Forcing a light laugh " it is always taken care of" she thought misreably and before getting consumed in her sadness she escaped to her room.

"Morning " I murmured to my father as I sat down to the enticing dishes spread across the large table.

Stop , that this instant he pointed to my fingers twinning the fork which was irritating him clearly.

"What" she feigned innocent .

Raising his brows slightly " I want you to check out your accommodation, you will be leaving in a week's time"

Okay sighs deeply "why do I have to leave that early?

" Why, do you have a husband to think about? sneered he . Seeing that she made no move to answer " I guess not ,prepare to leave young lady."

I arrived at the camp and I must say dad reserved a beautiful and spacious room for me . The attendant who gave me the keys chattered on how lucky I am to have such a wonderful father ans so on like it isn't his duty ,as I turned to the rules and regulations I froze.

The rules were silly , and the most annonying of them was the punishment berated on those lagging behind in their tasks and duties.To crown it all I was to stay here for 5 good years.

"Daniel" Calm down , you are going to be fine Mom said softly as I paced up and down the room.

Mom are you really saying that huh ? I am going to be away for 5years in some camp training for what God knows.

I know you are angry but son listen you were chosen among your brothers , it's your fate you will be fine .

Fate (Yells) I refuse to listen to a fate designed to make me unhappy , Wait a minute this is the reason that convinced me not to accept that letter from the college.Oh Mom! great and I bet Uncle Chris has something to do with this right ?

Mom's ear pricked up and that slight movement didn't go unnoticed.

I take that as a yes,Why does that old man not stay out of our business , must he stick his nose in our affairs ?

Mind your language young man Dad thundered taking me by surprise as he walked towards us from the opened door

You will go to the camp , you will be trained to be a kandroen and live up to your family name and that's final .

No I replied ,to the incredibilty of my father "Am legal already and I can make decisions for myself".

Daniel ,what's wrong with you, you are talking to your father Mom whined.

Take it he barked handing me an envelope, you will be leaving in 3days time leaving both me and Mom shocked.

Room 281B I read bitterly.

Room 281A I spat in anger as I repeated it for the 3rd time.

What's the matter Bella ?

Nothing father I replied nonchalantly

I hope your things are well packed , it's in 2days don't forget.

Why are you so much in a haste to send me away ? I have always been a good daughter. We never seat down and talk, you don't even know my likes and dislike,Are you ashamed of me father?

The days flew fast and the d day arrived , the scorching sun was at it's peak showing no mercy to the helpess occupants of the Earth . The continual wiping of the face won't go unnoticed as people marched into the large camp ground with remarkable structures.

But this didn't seem to hinder the two wandering eyes, as there left the premises in different routes .

Sir , there is a problem the slim hairy man said with slight hestitation 2 of the students are Missing .

What's the room number he asked hitting the table with a force that caused the younger man to shudder.
