Chapter 1 The Mastermind

A click is heard inside the luxurious and comfortable hotel suites, and the door has been opened by someone from outside

The drunken woman was brought into the room by a somewhat shifty figure. When he noticed that the owner of the room was not present, he sent the woman smelling of alcohol to a big soft bed without hesitation.

"Ugh ... So uncomfortable ..." The woman suddenly shivered, not realizing the danger around her. She rolled onto her side and hugged the soft pillow at her side, biting her lip in a drunken stupor. "I have a headache."

After a few seconds, the door opened and closed. The person who had sent her into the room left without turning around.

Silence reigned in the room. A few minutes later, the curtains on the side of the balcony slowly opened. A tall, elegant figure strode from the balcony into the dark room. His cold eyes brushed the woman on the bed and he switched on the wall lamp above the bed.

In the dim light, he lifted the woman's lower jaw with one hand and saw a small, clean and loved face. Unfortunately, she was now completely drunk, so the man let her go with a mocking smile.

It looks like the big party tonight was actually planned by someone using an alias. They thought he was in that room and took the opportunity to throw that woman in there. This is really some kind of plot.

There had been no end to his affairs in recent days, and women were the most sensitive subject he wanted to avoid. If he was involved in this affair, it would cause endless problems in the future.

"Ugh ..." The woman on the bed suddenly rolled over again, shaking in her drunken state. Her hands tried to feel for something, and she managed to grab hold of the blanket and hastily wrap it around her body. Then she curled up, closed her eyes and sighed in a low voice that smelled of alcohol. "Mcman, I am thirsty. I want to drink water."

The man narrowed his cold eyes and put his hand, which was on the doorknob.

If the mastermind behind all this was Butler Mcman, then everything had to be prepared outside the door to block his way. At this point, however, the woman was so drunk that she could not make out north, south, east or west.

The man suddenly returned to bed with an indifferent expression. He looked at the sleeping woman. The woman mumbled uncomfortably in her mouth as she hugged the pillow and rubbed her face. Then she mumbled in a drunken state, "Mcman, we are going to get married soon. When will you take me to your parents?"

The low murmur caused a sudden realization to enter the man's mind. He stared at the woman's beautiful face and grinned coldly, while his petite eyebrows lifted slightly.

My world revolved around Jax Harding, my older brother's captivating rockstar friend. From sixteen, I adored him; at eighteen, I clung to his casual promise: "When you're 22, maybe I'll settle down." That offhand comment became my life's beacon, guiding every choice, meticulously planning my twenty-second birthday as our destiny. But on that pivotal day in a Lower East Side bar, clutching my gift, my dream exploded. I overheard Jax' s cold voice: "Can't believe Savvy's showing up. She' s still hung up on that stupid thing I said." Then the crushing plot: "We' re gonna tell Savvy I' m engaged to Chloe, maybe even hint she' s pregnant. That should scare her off." My gift, my future, slipped from my numb fingers. I fled into the cold New York rain, devastated by betrayal. Later, Jax introduced Chloe as his "fiancée" while his bandmates mocked my "adorable crush"-he did nothing. As an art installation fell, he saved Chloe, abandoning me to severe injury. In the hospital, he came for "damage control," then shockingly shoved me into a fountain, leaving me to bleed, calling me a "jealous psycho." How could the man I loved, who once saved me, become this cruel and publicly humiliate me? Why was my devotion seen as an annoyance to be brutally extinguished with lies and assault? Was I just a problem, my loyalty met with hatred? I would not be his victim. Injured and betrayed, I made an unshakeable vow: I was done. I blocked his number and everyone connected to him, severing ties. This was not an escape; this was my rebirth. Florence awaited, a new life on my terms, unburdened by broken promises.
