DIANA'S POV
I let my tears flow without bothering to wipe my face as I sat in the car. My family sold me off to a man that I haven't met before, and I have heard many dreadful things about.
How could they do that to me? Why would my parents watch my grandparents sell out their only child just to save their company? Was it my fault that the company was going bankrupt? So they mean that the company is worth more than me? Their only child!
“I fucking hate my life right now!” I deliberately kicked the driver's side of the car from the back even though I knew it wouldn't affect the driver since a barrier separated the backseat from the driver's side.
There were two men in the car. The driver and a guard, all dressed in black like the devil they are. They were so mean to me when they came to take me. I wasn't going to just enter a car and let an unknown driver take me to an unknown place, probably the devil's castle, but they forcibly took me.
My dreams have been cut short by my parents who were supposed to stand up for me and support me as other parents do. I was going to grad school, move to New York and become an actress, and my parents were very much aware that I had plans regarding my education and life afterwards.
Now they let money and reputation rule over everything else, even the life of their only child. In the end, money comes first for them even to the extent of ruining my life.
I would be the property of a billionaire that people give bad reviews about. I am doomed.
I was awed when the car drove into the estate's gates. Many armed guards stood lined up at each side of the drive path. There were about nine beautiful buildings on the estate, but the outstanding one was the mansion which is probably the main house.
I presumed that was where the boss himself lives while his domestic workers and other people live in the others. I don't even know the name of the man who owns all these things and who has bought me without my consent.
Does he know me? Would he be as dreadful as people claim he is? If all that I have heard about him was true, can I stand him? Why exactly did he buy me?
My parents indeed put me out for sale and there had been other wealthy families who had wanted to have me, but he came out of the blue to purchase me with a deal that my parents couldn't resist and had to let others down. He used one of his men, who told me afterwards that he bought me for his boss.
So I am curious to know why he would give up a huge sum of money and bring great deals to claim me as his possession.
I was still infuriated, but the mansion caught my attention because I didn't know what lay in there for me. Would the man that lives in there be as beautiful as the mansion or is he a devil with horns?
I hesitated before coming down from the car when a guard opened the door for me. He stepped aside and closed it when I moved to stand beside the driver who had come down from the car as well.
I was lost in thought that I didn't know when a woman came forward until she tapped my chin and I was forced to meet her eyes.
“You are as beautiful as I heard. Your big blue eyes are real and your shiny, dark long hair meets the description. I am happy to meet you, Diana. I am your assistant and you can call me Jessica.” The woman said with a smile.
“Oh, well… nice to know,” I mumbled as I took her profile in, she's pretty.
“You do not need those bags anymore, Miss. Everything you would need is already in your room, so I am sorry to say that your belongings would be disposed of,” Jessica snapped her fingers to the servants who brought my bags out of the car. That was a way of signaling them to take the bags away and not inside the house.
“I would need my things in there. I have some precious things that…” I tried to protest but she shushed me with a wave of her hand.
“Don't worry, if there is anything you don't find in your room, then let me know and I will take care of it. This way, please,” she stepped back and waved towards the door.
“This is unbelievable,” I muttered as I clutched my phone and walked past her. I hope they don't take my phone away as well.
I was drawn to tears but I couldn't even release it because nobody would care or understand me. I just have to accept my fate and be prepared for thorns to be fixed under my feet. Life isn't as easy as I was raised to believe.
When she led me into the house, I expected to see the man that I would live the rest of my life with, not as a wedded wife, but as a claimed price since it didn't even seem like anything for him to give out that amount of money to have me.
