I couldn't ignore the tingles that ignited as he gripped my wrist and held them above my head. I felt the bark of the tree stab into my back as he had me pressed against it. I bit my lip, not from excitement but from fear. He raised his lips up to my ear and growled. "There is nothing between you and I. You don't deserve to become the Luna of my pack, you are weak." Story Description

You don't deserve to become the Luna of my pack, you are weak." He hissed into my ear.

I watched as he walked out of the forest. I heard my heart shattering to pieces.

If only he knew my past....

I positioned myself behind a tree, waiting for the right signal. It was a dark night, not even the moon's shimmering gleam was shining in the sky.

A perfect night for assassination.

I heard a bird chirping in the distance but I knew it wasn't a bird, it was Eve giving me the signal. I nodded my head up in the tree and stepped from behind my hiding spot. I noticed a wolf on guard with its back facing, unaware of his surroundings.

Thank Goddess I disguised my scent or else I would have been given away instantly. I took out my knife hidden within my combat boots and waved my hand over it. It instantly grew into a sword with the word Alituum (winged creature) inscribed into the blade. I quietly crept up behind the wolf and stuck my sword into its back, reaching forward to hold its mouth shut so it would make no sound. Once it fell motionless to the ground I prayed over its unmoving corpse 'ut inveniam luna dea est anima tua' (May your soul find Moon Goddess).

I chirped up to the tree next to me and watched as a figure climbed out of the tree and nod towards me. I advanced into the pack territory without a sound to my footsteps. There weren't many guard wolves out tonight which meant less blood shed tonight.

We advanced toward the pack house. I looked up at the three story house and then looked back at Eva. She held three fingers up and I nodded, I noticed a balcony on the side. That had to be the Alpha and Luna's because no other room had a balcony attached to it. I jumped up and landed quietly on the balcony.

You may ask how did I jump all the way up to a three story balcony from the ground, well it's just the perks of being an Angel.

I slid the sliding doors open since someone foolishly forgot to lock it and I quietly walked in.

The Alpha and Luna were both silently sleeping on their bed and I walked over to the Alpha first so I can take him out. He was a handsome Alpha; too bad he was a murderer that needed to be destroyed.

I raised my sword above his chest and then plunged it into his chest. His eyes shot open as the celestial silver pierced his heart. I looked into his eyes with no emotion and I watched as the life escaped his eyes.

I quickly walked over to the Luna. She sat up, about to cry out in pain due to the ache in her chest but I had already plunged my sword into her heart. She looked up into my blue eyes with despair and fear. I noticed she looked over at the other side of the room and my eyes followed what she was staring at and I noticed a crib.

I took my sword out of her now lifeless body and walked over to the crib but as I raised my sword something made me do something I have never done before.

I hesitated.

What I saw in the crib was a small red head sleeping child. I sniffed the air and noticed that this child was developing a smell.

A metallic smell.

This child was a vampire and it had to be about 2 years old. I minimized my sword into a knife and stuffed it back in my boot. I carefully picked up the child and held it in my arms. I swiftly walked to balcony and jumped down landing smoothly onto the ground.

"What is that Ava?" Eve hissed.

"This is not their child, they must have kidnapped it or something," I said.

"Explain when we get back," Was all she said.

I felt the bones in my back begin to rearrange and something shooting out of my skin. My wings shot out of my back as I stretched them. Eva and I took off into the night sky with the child still safely in my arms.

Another name off my list.

My world revolved around Jax Harding, my older brother's captivating rockstar friend. From sixteen, I adored him; at eighteen, I clung to his casual promise: "When you're 22, maybe I'll settle down." That offhand comment became my life's beacon, guiding every choice, meticulously planning my twenty-second birthday as our destiny. But on that pivotal day in a Lower East Side bar, clutching my gift, my dream exploded. I overheard Jax' s cold voice: "Can't believe Savvy's showing up. She' s still hung up on that stupid thing I said." Then the crushing plot: "We' re gonna tell Savvy I' m engaged to Chloe, maybe even hint she' s pregnant. That should scare her off." My gift, my future, slipped from my numb fingers. I fled into the cold New York rain, devastated by betrayal. Later, Jax introduced Chloe as his "fiancée" while his bandmates mocked my "adorable crush"-he did nothing. As an art installation fell, he saved Chloe, abandoning me to severe injury. In the hospital, he came for "damage control," then shockingly shoved me into a fountain, leaving me to bleed, calling me a "jealous psycho." How could the man I loved, who once saved me, become this cruel and publicly humiliate me? Why was my devotion seen as an annoyance to be brutally extinguished with lies and assault? Was I just a problem, my loyalty met with hatred? I would not be his victim. Injured and betrayed, I made an unshakeable vow: I was done. I blocked his number and everyone connected to him, severing ties. This was not an escape; this was my rebirth. Florence awaited, a new life on my terms, unburdened by broken promises.
