Chapter 1 MARRAIGE 1
Walking down the aisle, Penelope stared at the priest before her, today is her wedding day. It's the day every young girl has dreamt of, and like every other girl, she's dreamt of making her wedding vows on a beach like this one, seeing the reflection of the evening sun touch her white floral gown. Starting at the man she loves right in the eyes while she smiles at him.
She wished for nothing more than a simple life, where she'd have normal kids, and they would live in peace and harmony in their little cozy apartment. She would give her children a life she never had, and teach them the importance of family, something she never experienced.

"Mrs. Johnson, do you take Mr. Grayson to be your lawfully wedded husband in sickness and in health till death do you part?" The pastor's words got me off my trance and I was back to reality. I stared at the guest sitted on the bench and only realized they were just my family members. I was getting married to nothing but thin air, even the Grayson's we're not present not to think of Mr. Grayson himself.
But I wasn't surprised, it's no news how the wealthy treat the poor and helpless people, the most important thing is that I get the money for my brothers' treatment. It was quite huge, $ 14 million was not small money, it could pay off all of Levi's hospital bills, and more than enough would be left for his schooling. I stared at my stepmother who for the first time since I met her smiled back at me, nodding her head for me to continue with the vow, I nodded back and quickly responded a "Yes." To the pastor's words.
"It is done, I now pronounce you man and woman." The pastor said for the few people watching to clap excitedly. Mother rushed in to hug me so did my stepsister Rose and father, my aunts and uncles only clapped as everyone left one after another.
A black Lamborghini arrived at the entrance of the church indicating it was time to leave, knowing that, "Mother is the money sent, I need it to pay for Levi's treatment tomorrow I've been given a deadline by the hospital." I quickly said to her as we stood before the church.
"What are you saying, child? The money sent is ours, it's meant for our family alone. You're married to a rich man now, you have all the money in the world now penny stop being so greedy." She said. "But..." She stepped into their car and father drove off.
I had no idea what to do, I've been robbed by my very own family, they cared less about me and my brother the only thing that mattered to them was the money. I got into the car awaiting me, maybe I could shamelessly beg my husband to lend me money to save Levi to pay back in time. There's no way he'd disagree not after giving me 14million right? Maybe when he sees how terrible Levi's condition is, he'd lenf me the money quickly. I just can't let Levi die, at this moment I had no shame, I would do anything to save him...
We arrived before an estate, it looked like a private one tucked away from commoners like myself. Arriving before a black gate which screamed open the moment we got there, the chauffeur drove in. He's said nothing to me since we arrived and it felt wierd, it would have been nice if he had atleast made me comfortable. I had no idea what I've gotten into, no, what my family had forced me into, I had no idea who I was married to, if I knew mother would snatch the money away from I and my brother, then I wouldn't have agreed to this in the first place.
It annoyed me that I've been used by them, they used I and Levi to enrich themselves before finally casting us out. Just as we drove further, I saw a mansion come to view, and only then did I notice the strange water fall at the center of the yard. It was the sculpture of a woman screaming in pain as thousands of arrows pierced Into her back all at once. I could feel her pain right in my chest which gave me some kind of eerie feelings, but I was quick to wave it off.
If there's anything I should focus on, it should be the man I'm married to right now, the family I'm married Into. No, the family I've been sold to, my hands quickly caught the tears that fell at the corners of my eyes. I shouldn't ruin my makeup, being married into a rich family is a blessing, I would not lack a thing, Levi would be fine, and we'd live together again, happily, just like before.
The car was packed at the entrance of the mansion and the chauffeur got out to open the door only for me to step out. I took in deep breaths and exhaled, this action continued cause of how nervous I felt. With shaky legs I stepped into the mansion which looked acient, so was everything in it, it had just one house keeper which was an old lady who acted like no one just stepped in.
"Welcome to the Grayson's Mansion, I'm Fred the butler of this mansion, you can relax now my master is out of the country, it's not like he'd be back today or tomorrow or the next, but read the contract thoroughly why you wait." A man appeared from a corner, smiling creepily before leaving. I didn't understand what he meant by his master was out of the country, I thought I'd see him and maybe we'd come into an agreement to pay for my brother's bills. This cannot be happening, my brother cannot die, "What are you saying, is there a way I can reach him? A... At least talk to him, I have something really important to say to him." I followed the butler who left through the stairs.
He opened a room before meeting my gaze, "This is your room ma'am, and no, there's no way to reach master Mac, unless he calls." He bowed slightly before walking away. I fell to my knees and did the thing I've done since a kid, cry. I had no idea how to help my brother, I thought this marraige would be my escape route but no, I was back to where I started and my only achievement is the title of a wife.
