The Warrior's King(English) Chapter 1 Prologue

Europe

A bloody war.

Bodies on the ground, bathed in their own blood. It has been two days and the war continued without mercy.

A woman with no fear in her eyes is mercilessly killing the soldiers of Micandre. She was the only one who killed nearly a thousand Micandre soldiers.

She was callled, Ara, she's the warrior's King. She's one of the strongest warrior in their Kingdom.

She is the right hand of the King, considering, Ara, was born to protect the next King. When she was young she lived in a world of violence. She learned to stand on her own. She believe nothing but herself.

She mercilessly kills the enemies to satisfy her King.

Some of her comrade were wounded but still continued to fight.

How many soldiers have died in that war? That is incalculable in the amount of body lying on the ground. Bleeding. And both are devoid of lives. The Micandre soldiers are defeating they wanted to retreat but their King is unstoppable, he wanted to own the Kingdom of Vanwood.

Vanwood is about to succeed again but only a few remained standing, continuing to face death. Both are ready to face their path to defend their kingdom.

Shouts, grief mixed - mixed the grief of those who sacrificed their lives. Only Ara and the her comrades continued to stand and resist. Determined to consume all the enemies they also want to end. Because that was the order of the King of Vanwood.

'Nothing shall be left' the King commands

'I have to kill all the enemies,' Ara said in her mind as the sword she was holding struck the enemies who tried to end her.

It was a war between Micandre and Vanwood. Micandre wanted to take over Vanwood's palace so that they could rule forever.

Vanwood is the most powerful Kingdom and the King of Micandre wanted to rule them, to fall into his hands.

After the war starts, the soldiers of Micandre were ready to take over the palace but they did not expect to rain so many arrows with blazing fire on them.

A smirk came out of the lips of the King of Vanwood.

At last, Ara killed the King of Micandre without any wounds on her body but only a blood stain on the clothes obtained from the soldiers who were killed. Her sword also ended several lives.

Soldiers of Vanwood, shouted, a sign of their victory. Swords were raised in the air and shouted again. The war is over. The Kongdom of Vanwood succeeded.

Ara knelt on the ground in front of the palace. They won yet she is not satisfied.

She entered the palace to announce their victory to the King. A soldier guarding the palace door, he opened the door as soon as he saw the brave warrior, Ara.

Upon entering, the hall was wide and suffocating for Ara. In front of it is the King sitting on his throne while sipping red wine from the goblet he is holding. His gaze was fixed on the soldier who entered, Ara.

Slowly and without hesitation Ara walked closer to the King.

Five meters from the seated King. Kneel one foot, she bowed with respect.

"I want to announce our victory, My King," Ara politely told the King.

He sipped his drink before speaking.

"Good. You can leave," the King's voice answered sparingly and with a hint of coldness in his eyes. The King was feared by everyone, but not Ara.

Ara didn't bother to looked up the King and just stood up. She bowed before turning her back to the King. Ara avoids meeting his eyes. She didn't like the King's sharp looks at her every time their eyes met.

Ara ignored his grimmed face, she quickly walked out of the hall. She didn't notice the tension in the King 's jaw as if there was a secret hatred in it. He didn't like Ara's emotionless eyes.

Ara went through the west wing. She wanted to go straight to her own room to rest. It had been two days of killing, she wanted to be alone.

But she was about go to her room when the Queen saw her.

Queen Elizabeth Vanwood. The Grandmother of the King.

Even with age, she still possess beauty, but the pallor was obvious on the face. The Queen is seriously ill.

"Ara," she greeted the girl.

"My Queen," Ara said.

Ara was about to kneel but the Queen's hug stopped her. Ara stiffed.

The hugged unexpectedly.

"I'm glad you're alive. Thank you for being safe. Thank you for protecting us and your King," she said emotionally to Ara.

Ara gulpedher own saliva, she didn't know what to say. This was the first time the Queen hugged her tightly and thanked her.

"It's my duty to protect you and the King, My Queen," she replied barely making her voice.

The Queen let go of her but remained holding Ara's hands, she clung tightly to Ara's hand.

"I didn't make a mistake, I was right to choose you to protect the King, Ara," a smile was posted on the queen's lips.

"It was my pleasure, My queen," Ara said.

"The King is my only grandson, Ara. I want you to protect him as long as you live. Promise to do everything for him. If only his parents were still alive ...someday you will understand," Queen said emotionally.

She couldn't continue what she wanted to say because tears had already fallen on the old queen's cheeks.

The Queen has never been so emotional. That went through Ara's mind.

The Queen looked straight into Ara's eyes. She held Ara's hand tightly.

"You can't die, Ara. As long as King Aro lives even in the afterlife or the future, protect him. Live for him ...,"

"Because you are the King's brave soldier. Destiny will bring you closer. You are for the king, everything has a limit, but you will die and live, the days and year will change but destiny will not change. On the day that you and the King's meet in fate , you will continue your duty... "

Ara blinked a few times. Confused, perplexed at what the Queen was saying.

What does she want to convey to her . What does it mean to 'die and live'.

Ara swallowed wanting to ask what the Queen of Vanwood wanted to say to her.Every word she uttered was mysterious.

"... You will live an eternal life," a whisper startled her. It was like a cold wind that suddenly passed.

She shivered because of the words that came out of the Queen's lips.

Ara felt that the Queen's words meant something. Though confused, Ara nodded.

The kingdom of Vanwood mourned for several days because the Queen had passed away.

She left the world with a smile on her face.

For two years, I was the invisible force behind tech billionaire Kieran Douglas, convinced that our "private" romance was his way of protecting us from the tabloid spotlight. I managed his mergers, warmed his bed, and waited for a future that didn't exist. The illusion shattered at 6:00 AM when a Page Six alert debuted Kieran’s "real" romance with socialite Aspen Schneider. Before I could even process the betrayal, Kieran sent me a cold, professional text: "Order flowers for Aspen. Pink peonies. Her favorite." When I tried to walk away, my own mother called me a disgrace and threatened to lock my inheritance forever unless I married a sixty-year-old businessman to save her failing estate. At a high-society gala that same night, Aspen intentionally crushed my burned hand in front of the cameras, while Kieran stood by and dismissed me as a "mediocre assistant" who had overstayed her welcome. I stood in the cold New York rain, drenched in champagne and humiliation, realizing that every sacrifice I made for Kieran was a joke. I was a ghost in a penthouse that was never mine, discarded the moment his "soulmate" returned. To the world, I was just a placeholder whose time had run out. But Kieran forgot one thing: my father’s multi-million dollar trust fund unlocks the moment I legally marry. I didn't need love; I needed a signature and a shield. I walked into a discreet law firm and signed a marriage contract with a man I believed was the city’s most notorious, scandal-ridden playboy. I thought I was marrying a degenerate "beard" to buy my freedom and secure my revenge. I didn't realize the man who signed that paper wasn't a playboy at all, but Gaston Collins—the most powerful and dangerous man on Wall Street—and he had no intention of letting our fake marriage stay fake.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I went to the City Clerk’s office for a routine copy of my marriage license to finalize a trust fund audit. I expected a simple piece of paper, but the clerk’s pitying look told me my entire life was a lie. "The license was never finalized, Ms. Oliver. In the eyes of the state, you are single." The three-hundred-guest wedding at the Plaza and the Vogue features meant nothing. My husband, Gray Cooley, had intentionally filed the documents with a "procedural defect" so he could discard me without a legal divorce. Moments later, an iCloud invite titled "Our Little Secret" popped up on my screen. It was a photo of my best friend, Brylee, holding a positive pregnancy test at our Hamptons estate. Gray’s text to her was the final blow: "Happy anniversary, babe. This baby is the best gift. Once the trust unlocks today, we’re done with the charade." I soon discovered they were even stealing my career, reassigning my architectural masterpiece to Brylee while preparing my eviction notice. Gray's mother called me a "barren mule" in a leaked recording, mocking the infertility I suffered after saving Gray’s life in a construction accident. I wasn't a wife; I was a three-year placeholder used to secure his inheritance. How could the man I bled for treat me like a disposable prop? How could my best friend carry his child while pretending to comfort me through my darkest moments? The betrayal burned until it turned into a cold, hard stone of fury. I didn't cry. Instead, I walked into the penthouse of the Barretts, the Cooleys' most powerful rivals. I signed a marriage contract with Kane Barrett, the man the tabloids called the "Beast of Wall Street." "I want a wedding," I told his father, my voice steady and lethal. "Bigger than the one I had with Gray." If they wanted me gone, they would have to watch me become the woman who owns their world.

Today is October 14th, my birthday. I returned to New York after months away, dragging my suitcase through the biting wind, but the VIP pickup zone where my husband’s Maybach usually idled was empty. When I finally let myself into our Upper East Side penthouse, I didn’t find a cake or a "welcome home" banner. Instead, I found my husband, Caden, kneeling on the floor, helping our five-year-old daughter wrap a massive gift for my half-sister, Adalynn. Caden didn’t even look up when I walked in; he was too busy laughing with the girl who had already stolen my father’s legacy and was now moving in on my family. "Auntie Addie is a million times better than Mommy," my daughter Elara chirped, clutching a plush toy Caden had once forbidden me from buying for her. "Mommy is mean," she whispered loudly, while Caden just smirked, calling me a "drill sergeant" before whisking her off to Adalynn’s party without a second glance. Later that night, I saw a video Adalynn posted online where my husband and child laughed while mocking my "sensitive" nature, treating me like an inconvenient ghost in my own home. I had spent five years researching nutrition for Elara’s health and managing every detail of Caden’s empire, only to be discarded the moment I wasn't in the room. How could the man who set his safe combination to my birthday completely forget I even existed? The realization didn't break me; it turned me into ice. I didn't scream or beg for an explanation. I simply walked into the study, pulled out the divorce papers I’d drafted months ago, and took a black marker to the terms. I crossed out the alimony, the mansion, and even the custody clause—if they wanted a life without me, I would give them exactly what they asked for. I left my four-carat diamond ring on the console table and walked out into the rain with nothing but a heavily encrypted hard drive. The submissive Mrs. Holloway was gone, and "Ghost," the most lethal architect in the tech world, was finally back online to take back everything they thought I’d forgotten.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
