Racheal's POV

North Austria 2021,

February 22,9:30pm

The weather was very cold and dull, and I was hoping to get back to my house after a long day's work. I had a lot of bills to pay and I could only do that if I worked so hard. The bills in school kept rising, same as the utility bills and they never looked like slowing down. Hence, there was no way I was going to slow down either. The weather was getting to me as I didn't leave home with my sweater, so I was in a hurry to get back home. I hoped that a vehicle heading my way would appear but nothing of that sort seemed to be happening. After about twenty minutes without a cab forthcoming, I decided to walk down an alley to see if I could get a van on the other side. Not long after entering the alley, I heard something scary. It sounded like a low growl, and I immediately stopped in my tracks, wondering where it might have come from. I was so gripped with fear and all I could utter was, "who's there?" The alley was dark and it didn't help things. I decided to go back to where I previously was which had street lights. As I turned around, I felt goosebumps all over my body. I couldn't move. I was rooted to the spot and sweating profusely. I was standing face to face with a dog, a very big dog, bigger than any dog I had ever seen in my life. Even the wolves I used to see I'm documentaries were no match to the size of what I saw. I was still deep in thoughts when it launched at me. I screamed and ran further into the alley but it followed me closely. I could hear its footsteps as it ran after me and with each step I took, I felt it get even closer to me. The wolf was relentless and there was nowhere for me to hide. There was no way I could run faster than such a big wolf. So many thoughts ran through my mind and all of them pointed towards one thing; certain death and I hoped someone would save me from it. In just a few minutes, it caught up with me and swept me off my feet as I fell with my face down, hitting my head hard on the floor in the process. I felt blood ooze from my face as my head began to feel light. I saw the wolf slowly make its way to my wrist and I knew the end was near. Immediately, it bit me on the wrist, forcing a sharp scream from my lips due to the pain that I felt. It was excruciating. I had never experienced anything close to that in my life. I had never even imagined it. I felt even weaker and saw myself on the brink of passing out. As it was about to finish the job, it suddenly stopped and took two steps backwards. I was very weak and my vision was a bit blurry but I managed to look harder to see what must have caused that. I saw two very big wolves, bigger than the one that attacked me, standing a few feet away and menacingly staring at the wolf which was visibly afraid. It turns and runs for its dear life but before it could go far, the wolves caught up with it and its head was on the floor. Suddenly, the other wolves were nowhere to be found. Only two humans looked down at me. Just before I passed out, I heard them talking about me. "What should we do with her?" I heard one say to the other, who was very much older than he was. "We'll take her home if she's still alive," he replied and continued. "Max, I need you to call Tren. It's time for him to return." ......................
