Chapter 1 Prologue

Pain. Excruciating pain ran throughout her body as the whip landed on her back for the umpteenth time. Tears mixed with sweat ran down her face to the ground, wetting it lightly. Yet, she relentlessly raised the hoe, digging it into the ground to get rid of weeds.

It's all slavery. When agony becomes a very part of your life that's what she calls slavery. When you keep working tirelessly because you have no choice. It's all slavery!

Working relentlessly, paying for crimes they know nothing about. Suffering with no valid reason. Striving hard to survive, trying not to die! Striving hard to survive a tormenting phase of life.

Yet, they've been going round and round in this tunnel and haven't seen even the slightest glimpse of light, that would bring a little hope. None! Just suffering and tormenting coming from in waves from all corners.

She was the most courageous. She feared nobody. She was brave. But then she's subjected to slavery, where she has no power over herself. Where she lives by orders, by rules! Slaved to the cold hearted prince.

Suddenly, the man who wanted me gone became a monster of possessiveness. He threatened to "bury" a man who didn't exist while leaving me humiliated at his family's dinner to rush to Fiona's side. I was so broken that I even ate a cake I was deathly allergic to, then had to refuse life-saving steroids at the hospital because they would harm the fetus. Julian thinks he's stalling the divorce for two months to protect the family's reputation for his father's Jubilee. He thinks he's keeping his "property" on a short leash until the press dies down.
