A twist though; she has to spill a glass of whiskey on the most handsome man in the room. She spills the coffee on the man beside her; little does she know, the man is a handsome billionaire. He was dumped by his girlfriend, so he goes clubbing to take his mind off things, and his night is ruined, so he arrests her. The billionaire and the girl eventually fall in love, but they cannot be together because of the difference in their social classes, and the disapproval from both their families. Will he fight for her, or will they both give up their love and happiness? EXCERPT : "What the fuck is wrong with you??!! Are you fucking blind??! How did you not see me?!" he was yelling at her, because she spilled her drink on his expensive looking suit. "This suit costs 12 thousand dollars for fuck's sake! Are you even listening to me?!" Yep, the suit was expensive. But then, "who wears a suit to a club?" "I do, that's who! Do you even know who I am?!" Oops, she must have said it out loud. "You'll pay for this!"
Chapter 1.
Heather Collins.
It was a hetic day for me after having three classes back to back which lasted for two and a half hours each.
I walked tiredly to my room, groaning like a woman in labour with my face looking all stressed. I just wanted to lay in my bed and sleep for a week if that was possible.
"Come on Heather , get it together. Ah!" Jenny, my roommate kept yelling at me thinking I was being dramatic.
"I'm trying girl, I'm trying!" I sighed.
Finally reaching the entrance of my room, I rushed in and jumped on the upper bunk where my bed was, cuddling my pillow tightly and breathing heavily
Jenny was my room mate and a very good friend of mine. We have known each other from high school in our 12th grade. She just newly got enrolled back then when I offered a hand of friendship after she sat behind me. From there we grew from being friends to the best one we ever had.
We got admitted into Standford University in California into same department after highschool graduation. We got our dream courses which was political science. We were stuck together since then.
"Look who finally got into her cradle," Erica finally walked in laughing at my tired ass in bed. She walked in with Carissa. They were all roommates of mine.
"Like you can even get it together after having class for more than 7hours today if you were in my shoes," I fired back with a frown.
"Yish! We all know you're a lazy ass. Always acting like you just newly got admitted. Like yo! You're in your third year already," Carissa added to back Erica up.
"You guys aren't helping you know?" Jenny hissed. "She's stressed, let her me."
I laid flat on my bed looking unconscious and gave a deaf ear to their conversation. All I needed was rest.
"Y'all shouldn't forget about the party this night! We are gonna rock it," Erica was already waking the party spirit. They all squeaked. They couldn't contain the excitement within themselves.
This was a very bad timing. I got my head under my pillow and tightly closed my ears. I wasn't ready for the words they were about to say.
"You can't run away from this conversation Heather ," Carrisa got up, jacking the pillow from me.
"You didn't have to disturb my peace Carrisa."
"I'll again and again Heather . You got to come out from your shell," Carissa kept saying further.
"I'm not having this conversation," I went back laying my head without the pillow being present.
"You'll." Carissa smirked after throwing the pillow on my face.
"Are you guys not going to say anything?" I sat back up and glared at Jenny and Erica.
They seemed not to interfere. Jenny got glued to her phone screen on purpose as Erica got her headset on her which doesn't look like it was connected to her phone.
"Oh! Silent treatment? You both won't say anything?" I can't believe they were really doing this.
"Carissa is actually right though if you think of it," Jenny finally spoke as Erica gave a confirmation nodd.
I let out a loud groan. This conversation always came up when I decide not to partake in any social activities they engaged into.
I'm just an innocent girl with a good heart who's introverted. What I do with my life were my priorities even when it came to my social life.
"Just because I don't party with you guys doesn't mean I can't party at all. I got school work to do."
"Same school work you just complained about? Lair!" Jenny said while she pressed her phone.
"Yes she's definitely lying," Erica and Carissa both said in unison.
"Alright Ladies. I'll prove it. I'll prove to y'all that I can party just like every other school girl you know."
They all laughed as they doubted. They definitely thought I was whining just like I used to. I'd always make something up anytime they brought up the party talk back then. I might not run but I knew where to hide.
"Heather you won't last five minutes in a club no matter how hard you try," Erica chuckled and shook her head in disapproval.
The others concurred with Erica's statement. Now it became three versus one.
"I'm going to prove it to you," I was still standing on my words affirmatively. "Let's make a dare then."
They were stunned and all looked at each other confusingly. Silence filled the atmosphere for a short while for my words to settle in.
"Okay Heather , since you want to play that game, let's have it," Carissa finally understood. "We all dare you to attend this night party with us, wearing your sexiest dress ever. If you last the whole night without having a change of mind, we get to do whatever you want. If you don't, you get to eat beans for the day."
They all knew how much I disliked beans. Eww! So help me Lord as I was about to accept this bet.
"You don't have to do this though if you don't want to," Jenny added. She gave me the pity look but this wasn't a time turn back.
"It's fine Jenny. It's fine," I replied.
"And as for you Carissa," I stood up from my bed getting ready for my affirmation. "I one hundred percent accept this bet except y'all wanna snooze."
"It's on girl!" We all chuckled.
*****
It was 7:30pm when I checked my phone. I sat up yawning as the sound of my roommates jolted me from my sleep.
"Can you guys keep it down with the noise?"
"Girl! Get your ass up and be ready to go clubbing," Erica scoffed at me. She then faced her pocket mirror to apply some lipstick and peckled them together.
I squinted my eyes to get a better view at Erica while she applied her make up. She was on a white crop top and a black short flare skirt which revealed part of her thighs.
She had a curly hair which was styled into a baddie. That was some latin girl shit! She was good at makeovers.
"Why aren't you ready yet? We don't want to be late." Jenny said as she walked in with Carissa.
Jenny was on a peach short armless gown which revealed her white skin. Her dress matched with her black wedge shoes. She packed her hair in two side ponytails with no make-up on.
Carissa on the other hand, put on a white blouse and a blue jean. It went perfectly with her dark skin. She had smooky eyes makeup that brought out her green eyes perfectly and some lipgloss to moisturize her lips She was such a beauty. She styled her hair into an Afro bun and got a white snickers. We called her black girl magic.
"Heather get the fuck up and get yourself ready!" Jenny said in a commanding tone.
I stretched out my arms, inhaling and exhaling deeply. With my sleepy eyes, I got into the bathroom and freshened up.
I was out of ideas on what to wear. Right now, I needed to think of something fast not to delay the girls.
Outings weren't my thing. Most people thought it was because of my introverted personality. Sometimes, I get my peace of mind from music, sleeping and drawing.
I would take out time in the weekends to draw and paint any imaginative thought that came to my mind. That gave me inner peace.
I was most times asked why I wasn't studying a course related to art. I loved engaging in conversations about politics back then. It was very controversial and people were ready to listen.
Back to me being indecisive, what could be worn to a party? Sexy? Classy? Causal? I had no idea but I came up with an alternative.
I walked towards my closet with my towel wrapped around my chest to pick some clothes for the outing. My eyes got something, a red blouse and a black fitted long skirt, this was good to go for me.
I brought them out as it was hung with a hanger, stepping infront of the mirror to see how it'd match perfectly.
"You can't possibly be wearing that to the club," Erica prompted. She got the attention of Jenny and Carissa who were busy getting themselves done.
"We aren't going to the office Heather . It's a club girl, a club," Carissa added.
"Oh right! I should probably put on a bra and pant with heels to match and tag along with this outing huh?" A perfect sarcastic reply from me.
"Guys, can you just let her wear what she wants wear? It's 8:30 already," Jenny said.
"You always have to side her whenever we try to correct her. Oh ye supporter's club!" Erica rolled her eyes towards Jenny.
"She gat to be herself. Let her," Jenny smirked.
I faced the mirror again and wondered what beauty I'll turn out to be in this dress when I finally put it on.
I sat to comb my hair backwards while Jenny helped to apply the eyeliner and powder to bring out the sparkles like she always said.
I put on a black flat shoe when I was finally done dressing. I turned towards my roommates to await their review.
"Well, you don't look bad for starters," Erica commended as her eyes went from my head to my feet.
"You look GOOD Heather ," Jenny shook her head towards Erica as she complimented me.
"Thank you!" I replied back and blew a kiss.
"Can we go now?" Carissa asked in haste.
"Maybe after you say something nice about my outfit," I stood up and stroke my pose for her to get a better picture. I added, "As I'm about to beat you in this bet."
"You know you look good but let's see how long you're going to last tonight," She smirked at me, peckled her lips and took some steps out of the room.
We were all ready for the outing at quarter to nine. We walked out of our hostels to get into the Uber ride Jenny ordered.
We arrived at the one of the most popular clubs in California, Avalon Clubhouse. One of the finest clubs in the city. It was known for its interior designs, finest music jams and hosting the richest businessmen.
We got down from our ride but I couldn't help but wonder at what my eyes caught. I took a minute to admire the outer part of the building. Its name in blue cursive writing was spelled boldly on the top of the building. Different people with their outfits excitedly walked in and out of the building.
We finally got in. The club had different sections for different people. There was the regular section for those who just wanted to drink and have fun, there was the VIP section for rich men or women were they get the best and most expensive drinks in the club and were given most attention. Lastly it had the extreme section. This section is for those who craved for entertainment from night workers. The strippers came in their bikinis and heels and dance on the poll to seduce their audience and show them what they came to see.
It was irritating at the sight of women dancing on the poll to satisfy people's pleasure. Surprisingly, men wasn't their only audience. Women were also seen spraying money lavishly as the strippers shook their butt and caress themselves.
It had a bar in each sections of the club with the dance floor at the center. People showing their dance skills and getting all touchy with their partners.
I walked towards the regular section and planned to have a sit but my friends already had a different plan for the night. They all got passes to the VIP section including mine. We were going to be chilling with the rich and classy.
We sat on a black comfy chair placed in the section as we already met two men on that line. They took a glimpse of our outfit and gave a disapproving look. Apparently it was VIP enough but we didn't care.
We adjusted our outfit as we sat, trying to look out best. Erica brought our her phone for us to take selfies first. They got the duck face on but I just gave a smile.
"We should definitely have a drink," Erica said, adjusting her hair to take another perfect selfie. "Damn! I look so adorable," she finally complimented her picture.
"Yeah! I think we should all have a glass of whiskey," Carissa suggested.
"Or probably vodka," Erica added and it seemed they were all in agreement.
"Just get me water though," I finally said.
They all got confusion written all over their faces after my statement.
"Heather we don't do that here," Jenny shook her index finger as she said. "Exactly! We don't do that here!" Erica added looking saucy.
"Come on Heather , let's go get some drinks," Jenny said. She stood up, stretched her hands towards me and pulled me up.
We got to the bar and ordered four glasses of vodka. I was amazed at the size of the glass cups in which we were given. There were little cups with the Vodka bottle by its side on a tray.
Jenny carried the bottle, leaving me with four filled little glass on a tray. I carried them gently and carefully, avoiding those dancing with their partners on the dance floor.
Most got really touchy with their partners of opposite sex. There was a lot of smooching and grinding occurring in front of me.
I was carried away in fascination that I didn't realize I was about to bump into someone, and when I did, it was too late as I had already spilled the drinks all over his suit.
