Chapter 1 PROLOG

A cute little girl with round eyes with cute cheeks is pedaling a pink bicycle. The girl in two braids with ribbons and an all-pink bag had just returned from Elementary School. The girl wore a red and white uniform and occasionally looked around while pedaling a bicycle.

The girl's round eyes narrowed when her eyes caught the figure of a man in a Dove High School uniform sitting sadly in a closed shop. The man's face was covered in bluish bruises, with his uniform slightly smudged with dust.

The little girl blinked twice, then turned her bicycle towards the man who was closing his eyes. After parking the bike. The girl went down and approached the man, who had opened his eyes and looked confused at the girl who was approaching and squatting in front of him.

"Brother, why? After a fight, huh?" the girl asked innocently.

David, he remained silent, looking at the girl who was taking something in her pink bag. It turned out that the girl took a handkerchief who was still clean and was about to clean David's wound, but her hand was grabbed.

"What are you doing?" David grimaced a little because the corners of his lips still hurt to speak.

The little girl blinked once, then smiled sweetly.

"I want to treat the wound, Brother. If it is not treated, it can become infected, my brother said."

The little girl resumed her activities to clean David's wounds and treat them with the first aid kit that she always brought from home.

The girl didn't blink when she saw the face of the man in front of her, who was very handsome and fascinated her.

"This brother is very handsome, yes," the little girl thought innocently.

David, who heard the girl's thoughts, was transfixed for a moment. He observed the girl's adorable face, with cute round eyes and slightly plump cheeks that made David want to pinch her. Uh?

"Brother isn't sick anymore, right?" The round eyes scanned David's face, which had been treated and had several bandages attached to the corners of his lips, nose, and forehead.

"Hmm." David only answered with a mumble. For some reason, seeing the girl's innocent face made his heart beat faster than usual.

And for David's age, he's not stupid what it means if his heart beats fast when he's with a girl.

"I... can't possibly fall in love with this little girl, can I? But, why am I pounding?" David was lost in his thoughts, which he found very strange.

The little girl seemed to enjoy David's handsome face, then a sweet smile appeared on her beautiful face.

"This brother is so handsome, Aya likes it."

David's body froze hearing that, he could not hear it wrong. Oh, shit! Now his heart was beating wildly just because of the words of the little girl, who turned out to be Aya.

"Brother?" Little Aya waved her hands in front of David's face, who had been busy with his thoughts.

"Hah?!" David blinked a few times as if he was waking up from a daydream about his feelings.

"Aya wants to go home first, okay. Because Mom and Aya's Brother will look for it later. Is it okay with Aya staying here alone?"

What?! How could a brat like Aya ask such a question? It was like David was as if afraid of being alone and wanted Aya to accompany him. David's self-esteem as a man fell just because of the innocent girl's words in front of him.

"Hm, I'm fine," replied David nonchalantly, in contrast to his heart that kept beating when he met Aya's round eyes.

"Okay, Aya go home first, okay."

Aya got back on her pink bicycle and got ready to pedal the bike. But, before that, David's voice stopped Aya's movement.

"Your house, .... where?" With a feeling of doubt, David asked this.

Aya smiled brightly when David asked her.

"Aya's house is just down the road, Brother."

"Oh."

"Handsome Brother, Aya went home first, okay. Bye..." David heard the amused chuckle that Aya gave off. Consciously or not, the laughter made David's heart warm.

He looked at Aya's small back, which was getting further away on her pink bicycle.

"Beautiful."

"Lucien, let's get a divorce," I said in a peremptory tone that was long overdue, the most decisive farewell to this absurd marriage. We had been married for exactly three years-three years that, for me, were filled with nothing but endless loneliness and torment. For three years, the husband who should have stood by my side through every storm, Lucien Sullivan, had completely disappeared from my life as if he had never existed. He vanished without a trace, leaving me alone to endure this empty, desolate marriage. Today, I finally received his message: "I'm back. Come pick me up at the airport." When I read his words, my heart leapt with joy, and I raced to the airport, thinking that he finally understood my love and was coming back to me. But his cruelty was far worse than I could have ever imagined-he was accompanied by a pregnant woman, and that woman was Carla, my closest and most trusted friend. In that moment, all of my previous excitement, all my hope, and all of our shared laughter and tears turned into the sharpest of daggers, stabbing into my heart and leaving me gasping for air. Now, all I want is to escape from this place that has left me so broken-to lick my wounds in solitude. Even if these wounds will remain with me for the rest of my life, I refuse to have anything to do with him ever again. He should know that it was his own hand that trampled our love underfoot, that his coldness and betrayal created this irreparable situation. But when he heard those words, he desperately clung to this broken, crumbling marriage, unwilling to let it end-almost as though doing so could rewind time and return everything to how it used to be. "Aurora, come back. I regret everything!" Regret? Those simple words stirred no emotion in me-only endless sadness and fury. My heart let out a frantic, desperate scream: It's too late for any of this!
