Chapter 1 One

Chapter One: The Syringe Injected.

My boyfriend left me just because I did not let him get my virginity that midnight. For that, I saw him with another woman, and for sure, that woman allows my boyfriend to get her virginity. I cried, slapped him on the face, and broke with him. I know there is someone else out there who is more deserving than him. That may sound stupid to cry over a jerk whose dream is to taste every woman he had and guess what, if that stupid girl got pregnant, then sorry for her.

Starting tonight, I will no longer cry for that jerk and will not waste my time thinking about him. I sigh. Luna called earlier today that she wants to help me forget about his stupidity that ruined my life. We are going to the club, drinking alcoholic drinks, and I think that must be a great idea.

While I was getting dressed, she texted me that the club is now packed with attractive men, has a perfect body perfectly matched for me. I mean, I do not care. If I can't find a guy that I could replace on my ex, it's totally fine for me. Loving myself is what I needed today, not finding a man on the club that can be as jerk as my ex.

This might be the only way, and I think I do not want to agree with what Luna texted me. The club might be packed with the charmer, but hell, we cannot be sure what they are behind their pretty faces. A thief, pervert, or maybe an addict. I am saying 'no' to the charmer. I am saying yes to a gentleman and caring even if he is not an ideal type as long as he captivated my heart.

I saw myself well-dressed in front of the mirror, trying to turn around to see my back and in tries to witness myself every different angle just to see it fits for me.

I stood here in front of my apartment, waiting for a taxi. Fortunately, a vacant one stopped in front of me. I opened the back seat door, hoop in, and sat properly. The driver asked me where is my destination, but I just told him that I would be in Dode Club. It is not far from my apartment, and I think I would arrive there within a couple of minutes, it depends if it is traffic or not.

If they would ask me what do I prefer, whether going to a club or reading a book, then I'd prefer reading a book. Luna might laugh at my stupid decision, but it's my life. Luna always invited me, even if I already told her that I am not interested. She still pushes and forced me. That maybe sucks, but all I need to do is to be with her. I do not want her to be drunk. I do not trust the people that surround us in the club.

I told the driver to stop the taxi at the side of the club. Many people are falling in line outside. Most of them are men.

What the hell! I had never been able to enter a club whole my life. It's my first time, and I do not know what it may look like inside. All I heard about clubs that sometimes it has a pole dancer and even a prostitute, that is why most men liked to be in the club.

The club's dance floor is already packed with drunk people dancing like penguins or zombies. Where is she now? Has it ever flirted with the 'charmers' she says? Oh God, I hope she's not with drunk men.

"Silic!" Luna's voice I heard from behind me. I faced the source of the voice then I saw her. The dress she was wearing was short. I'm sure she was aware of what she was wearing. "Your time has come. You didn't catch up with Zach. It's a pity."

"I did not come here for those things Luna. I am here to drink and for me to forget that stupid idiot. You know who I am referring to." I said. We barely walked closer to what looked like a front desk. We were still sitting in chairs.

"Two lady's drink please," I said at a bartender. Moments later he immediately handed us the two wines. "Thank you," I said again and immediately accepted the two wines then gave one to Luna.

"Cheers!" she said.

"Cheers!" my answer.

"There are many more boys world girl, and I don't want you to cry just because of him." I rolled my eyes at her. "I want you to have fun. Enjoy life while we're still young," she added.

"And who said I would cry for him? Fudge him. I won't cry anymore because of him." I just told him and I drank the wine again then laid it on the table. "It's good that we broke up. He doesn't love me."

I have no intention of squeezing myself into the madman, whose only dream is to just taste the jewel of women. It's good that I found out that early on. I may be one of his victims and it would be difficult if I got pregnant, I know she will not stand by me.

"Why are you crying there if you are thankful that you did not last long? Smile and be happy girl, you can see many guys in here and just pick one and go home. "she said." Let us dance on the dance floor. Let's look at us." She nursed me.

I would have been shaken as a sign that I did not want to dance on the dance floor. But she grabbed my hand and pulled a signal for me to get up from my position with the wine.

"I'll just have a drink there on the side. I don't want to hustle here!" I shouted at her so she could hear it. The music is already loud, other people are still shouting. One thing, others smell the armpit. Maybe Luna and I smelled that too so we better move to the other side. Not so many people, we were even more comfortable dancing and moving around here.

Luna began to move her body. "Look at me. This is how to dance if you ever don't know," she explained to me. She began to move his body again. Raised both hands and jumped for joy.

I laugh because of her dance steps that looked like crazy. I accompanied Luna and tried to follow the stupid steps. "I'm a sad girl now!" I shouted in the middle of the dance floor. Others could not hear it either because the music was louder than my shout. "That's right! You'll forget about that idiot and stop chasing about him." she said.

Luna is a supportive friend, and I am thankful for her. I continue dancing on the dance floor, and I do not care if I may look stupid. As I am dancing, I saw someone staring at me. I stop from dancing and stare back at the man who stared at me seriously. Like his stare told me that he planned for something.

"What's wrong?" Luna immediately asked me.

"Nothing," I answered. That man is gone from the sofa. "I need to pee. I'll be back." I said to Luna, and just she nodded.

I passed all the people from the dance floor, including the couple who had been kissing at the side. Oh my God, this is not a motel.

I entered the comfort room. Unfortunately, I heard a moan.

I covered my ears so I cannot hears any moan. They should do it privately. I was about to left the comfort room when the three men blocked my way. They are all wearing black long sleeves, with an earphone in their left ear. I felt intense nervousness. My God, I hope they don't do anything to me.

Yes, sir, what should we do to her?" I heard one man said, as if he was talking, to someone, with his headset. "Get her, copy that," he said again.

"What is this? What are you planning to do with me?" I asked anxiously when they suddenly touched me. A man grabbed me on the other side.

"Sorry, but we're just following the orders of my boss. We have no bad intentions with you. We'll just take you to the mansion." He said and he immediately covered my lips with a handkerchief and after a while he injected a syringe into my neck. I want to shout, but I can't do it anymore. I weakened until my vision darkened.

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.

I watched my husband sign the papers that would end our marriage while he was busy texting the woman he actually loved. He didn't even glance at the header. He just scribbled the sharp, jagged signature that had signed death warrants for half of New York, tossed the file onto the passenger seat, and tapped his screen again. "Done," he said, his voice devoid of emotion. That was Dante Moretti. The Underboss. A man who could smell a lie from a mile away but couldn't see that his wife had just handed him an annulment decree disguised beneath a stack of mundane logistics reports. For three years, I scrubbed his blood out of his shirts. I saved his family's alliance when his ex, Sofia, ran off with a civilian. In return, he treated me like furniture. He left me in the rain to save Sofia from a broken nail. He left me alone on my birthday to drink champagne on a yacht with her. He even handed me a glass of whiskey—her favorite drink—forgetting that I despised the taste. I was merely a placeholder. A ghost in my own home. So, I stopped waiting. I burned our wedding portrait in the fireplace, left my platinum ring in the ashes, and boarded a one-way flight to San Francisco. I thought I was finally free. I thought I had escaped the cage. But I underestimated Dante. When he finally opened that file weeks later and realized he had signed away his wife without looking, the Reaper didn't accept defeat. He burned down the world to find me, obsessed with reclaiming the woman he had already thrown away.
