Chapter 1 Introduction

Brett's Point of View

Nathan had just called us because he had this weird feeling in his stomach. I know- that sounds weird- but Nathan was a person whose gut was always right in predicting if something was coming, so when I got his message, I went straight to North's Toy Shop- don't ask why he called it that, because no one knows. I don't even think he knows.

"Alright. Nathan. Why did you call us?" I walked in and said in my thick Australian accent, and saw that everyone else was there, Jason, Sandy, Tatiana and Nathan.

He had a triangular facial shape with a fair complexion where a slight reddish-colouring was located just on the cheeks, he had squinty brown eyes which showed confusion most of the time rather than any other emotions, he had light pink pouting lips which look extremely inviting but not for me of course for my friend who I think would be an excellent companion for him. He had a luxurious head of light brown wild unmanageable hair colour was which almost blended into blonde wild unmanageable hair. He had a slim but still muscular body however the muscles were not clear with the clothes that he was wearing, he had been wearing dark grey collared shirt with black denim jacket on top alongside with some black jean.

She had an oblong facial shape which showed off her pale complexion and she had made no effort to add any blusher, she had almond shaped green eyes which matched well with her long blonde straight hair which reached just above her chest, she had a small frame and curves which was showed off by her black dress with white flowers everywhere-it was similar to what Tatiana was wearing.

She had a circular facial shape which had shown off her fair complexion, she had small brown eyes which filled you with a sense of comfort as the one mother was looking right at you, she had full lips which were emphasised with the red lipstick she was wearing, she had luxurious long wavy red hair which reached just above her chest it was all parted to one side. She had a skinny body frame which was emphasised by the clothes she was wearing; she was wearing a flowy black dress which reached just above her knees and it was covered in multi-coloured flowers but it still showed off her curves while she was also wearing high heels but they weren't too high for her to run in and walk in and not break her neck.

When he turned around, you could clearly see his chiselled facial shape, he has this pale complexion which really showed his piercing, sparkling, light-blue deep-set eyes, his thin lips (though covered) was shaped as a frown, his ebony hair was slicked to the side going upwards neatly-combed, he had a full grown short classic beard which had grey (slowly turning white) at the bottom which had faded into black everywhere else. He wore a blue checker shirt, black jeans, black leather jacket and trainers.

"Jonah Black is back" He said leaning over his desk so that we only saw his back.

"What! How!" Jason yelled.

"I really don't know. I thought that we destroyed him last time." Nathan said in his thick American accent turning around and shaking his head.

"When did you see?" Tatiana said moving closer to Nathan.

"I didn't see him exactly." Nathan said, not looking at us, instead -to him- his ceiling became very interesting.

"What do you mean not exactly." I asked him to narrow my eyes. "How do you know that he's back?"

"I can feel it. In my belly." He said placing his hands on his belly staring at us. He literally looked like a crazy man.

"You and your damn belly." I whispered to myself, I heard jingles and saw Sandy pointing to the Moon. The moon helps us with identifying new recruits because -well I'm assuming that you have already noticed- that we do something else. We are magical beings. We are guardians. We protect both the supernaturals and humans.

"It's the Moon Goddess! Sandy why didn't you tell us!" Nathan told him off, I saw that Sandy was going to explode in anger, which shows that he has been trying to grab our attention beforehand, but we never really noticed. I looked back at the reflection that the Moon made on the floor and it saw an image of Jonah. Jonah had a square facial shape and baby soft complexion, he had squinty brown eyes and full nude lips, he had dark brown tamed hair that reached just above his ears. For reasons unknown, he was wearing a tuxedo that fitted well on his solid build.

"Holy shit. The old man's belly was right" I said out-loud. "How do we defeat him this time?" after I said that the floor opened up and 3 crystals came up indicating that three people were ready to become guardians.

My world revolved around Jax Harding, my older brother's captivating rockstar friend. From sixteen, I adored him; at eighteen, I clung to his casual promise: "When you're 22, maybe I'll settle down." That offhand comment became my life's beacon, guiding every choice, meticulously planning my twenty-second birthday as our destiny. But on that pivotal day in a Lower East Side bar, clutching my gift, my dream exploded. I overheard Jax' s cold voice: "Can't believe Savvy's showing up. She' s still hung up on that stupid thing I said." Then the crushing plot: "We' re gonna tell Savvy I' m engaged to Chloe, maybe even hint she' s pregnant. That should scare her off." My gift, my future, slipped from my numb fingers. I fled into the cold New York rain, devastated by betrayal. Later, Jax introduced Chloe as his "fiancée" while his bandmates mocked my "adorable crush"-he did nothing. As an art installation fell, he saved Chloe, abandoning me to severe injury. In the hospital, he came for "damage control," then shockingly shoved me into a fountain, leaving me to bleed, calling me a "jealous psycho." How could the man I loved, who once saved me, become this cruel and publicly humiliate me? Why was my devotion seen as an annoyance to be brutally extinguished with lies and assault? Was I just a problem, my loyalty met with hatred? I would not be his victim. Injured and betrayed, I made an unshakeable vow: I was done. I blocked his number and everyone connected to him, severing ties. This was not an escape; this was my rebirth. Florence awaited, a new life on my terms, unburdened by broken promises.
