Hazel-Rose Knight, the woman with the wild heart, and the soul to match. She came into my life without warning and turned it upside down. I have not met anyone like her. She was one of a kind, with her smart mouth, live in the moment attitude and wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. She has kept me on my toes since the moment we met. She was used to getting what she wanted, but I wasn't going to make it that easy for her. She and I were very different, polar opposites to be more exact. Hazel-Rose enjoyed one-night stands, flings and didn't believe in commitment. I, however, preferred dating, getting to know someone before I jump into bed with them. I don't do one-nights, I prefer romance. I wanted her, she wanted me, but we both wanted different things we had to hatch a plan between us. We made a deal, Hazel-Rose will go on three dates with me, and at the end of them, she would get what she wants. Well, that was the plan, but sometimes plans don't always go the way you expect them too. And sometimes two strangers can change each other's life forever.

Taming her wild heart Chapter 1 The beautiful stranger

Wyatt

I was getting impatient as I waited in line for the guy's bathroom at the night club, I was in. I feel like I have been waiting for hours when it has only been ten minutes. I didn't even want to come here tonight, but my friends made me. It wasn't my thing. People go clubbing to dance, drink and hook-up. All of that wasn't me.

Yes, I love sex as much as anyone else, but I don't do one-night stands. I never have, and I never will. It doesn't appeal to me. I prefer getting to know someone, connecting with them before jumping into bed with them. I don't dance, or more like I can't dance, I was terrible. And as for the drinking? I don't mind drinking, but not often, and I am a lightweight when it comes to drinking. I know all of that makes me sound boring, but I am not. I just enjoy other things in life. I don't judge people for what they do.

The line moved up, but not by much. I sighed, taking my phone out to occupy myself as I waited. Suddenly something out the corner of my eyes caught my attention. There was a woman with purple hair and wearing a little black dress. It was tight and clung to her. She was probably one of the most beautiful women I have seen. I swallowed hard, and I couldn't take my eyes away from her.

"Hey handsome," She said, winking at me as she walked by me.

I turned my head, watching after her. I soon realise I was not the only one. Oh wow! She was something else. I gave myself a shake, pulling my eyes away from her. Women don't usually steal my attention in the way she did. Yes, I notice beautiful women like everyone else, but not like the way I just did.

I pushed the beautiful stranger to the back of my mind as the line finally started moving quicker. Thank God. I only had an hour left before this place closed, and I could go home. I was exhausted. I have had a busy week with work. All I wanted to do was sleep for the next two days on my days off. I got into the bathroom, doing what I needed and washing my hands before heading back out.

I swerved my way through the crowd of people to get back to my friends. When I left them, there were, now there was only two.

"Where is Toby?" I laughed.

"He left with some blonde, someone that works with him, or something," Nick said.

I chuckled and shook my head. Toby was my best friend, a pain in my ass at times, and a male whore. He was a proud one, though. I sat back at our table, and soon Nick was disappearing. Someone has caught his eye. Then there was two, me and Luke. He was married, so he wasn't looking for a random hook-up. He is the only out of us all that is married.

"No one caught your eye?" He asked.

"Nope, you know me, the one-night stand thing isn't for me," I laughed.

"I know," He said, smiling.

He was the only one that didn't get onto me about all of this. He understood where I was coming from. He has been married for three years but been together for eight years.

"One more drink and then we can head?" Luke said.

I nodded, and he headed to the bar to get us a drink since it was his round. I looked around, smiling as I watch everyone having fun. I was quick to stop looking around when I spotted a familiar figure-the woman with the purple hair. She was dancing with a couple of her friends, all eyes on her. I swallowed hard and found myself studying her closely. She had the most luscious curves. She was smiling widely and laughing as she danced. Wow! That smile could kill. I bet she has broken a lot of hearts in her time. She must have felt my eyes burning into her because her eyes diverted to me.

I watch the smile on her lip, turn to a smirk. She waves at me as she dances. I wave back at her, awkwardly. I am not used to women like her. I wasn't some rich, handsome, confident millionaire. I was just your average guy. I quickly turned away from here. I couldn't take her looking at me any longer. I couldn't handle watching her anymore. I know to her I probably come across as rude. I looked back up, but she was gone. I looked around, but I couldn't see her. Where did she go?

"Who you looking for?" I hear a female voice giggle from next to me.

I turned and was met with the beautiful stranger once again.

"Um, no one," I said, rubbing the back of my neck.

"I think you are lying; you were looking for me," She said confidently.

"And what makes you think that?" I said, raising my brow at her.

"I see the way you look at me," She said.

"Yet, you were the one that came to me, why was that?" I asked.

"Because you didn't come to me," She said, "Someone had to make the first move," She added.

The first move? Is she trying to tell me that she is attracted to me? I don't believe that somehow.

"Yes, because I am not what you want," I said.

"And what is it you think I want?" She asked.

"Fun, a one-stand, am I right?" I asked, and she nodded, "I am not your guy for that. I don't do one-night stands," I added.

She seemed a little taken back when I said that. I guess she believes that every guy is the same, and only wants sex? That isn't true at all.

"Who doesn't have one-night stands?" She asked, "They are fun. You have hot sex without the commitment, and you don't need to see the person again," She added.

I am assuming that she doesn't do relationships then, or dating?

"I don't, I would rather get to know someone before I jump into bed with them," I said.

"Hmm, doesn't that get boring?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.

"I could ask you the same thing about one-night stands," I said.

"What is the point of having more than sex? Because in the end, you just get hurt," She said, "We could keep debating, or you could tell me what you truly and we can get out of here," She added.

I don't think I have met someone as straightforward as she is right now. I feel she has been burned in the past, which is why she seems to have her walls up.

I stood, stepping into her. There was only a small space between us, but she closed it.

"I am sorry that isn't going to happen," I said, "You are beautiful, you really are, but that isn't who I am," I added.

Yes, I was attracted to her, but I was not going to change my ways because of that. I was raised better than that. My parents raised me to respect women and treat them good.

"Are you being serious?" She asked, surprised.

I don't think she is familiar with rejection. I have a feeling she had never been rejected in her life.

"I am, yes," I said.

"Maybe it is time you try something new," She smirked, resting her hand on my chest.

I know she was trying to be seductive, and it is not easy for me not to fall for it.

"I will make you a deal, you let me take you on a date, and we can go from there," I said, reaching in, and tucking her hair behind her ear.

"I don't date," She said, firmly.

"And I don't do one-night stands," I said.

I don't think she knew what to do or say after that. She stood there, looking at me. I chuckled and reached into my pocket. I pulled my wallet out and took a card out of it.

"If you change your mind, give me a call, gorgeous," I said, handing it to her.

She took it but still wasn't saying anything. I kissed her cheek and walked away. I then realised I didn't get her name. I turned back around to ask her, but she was gone again.

It seems like I will not ever know her name because my gut tells me I wouldn't be hearing from her. I sighed, walking away. A part of me regretted walking away from her, but it was the right thing to do.

I will keep telling myself that, anyway.

I woke up in a blindingly white hotel penthouse with a throbbing headache and the taste of betrayal in my mouth. The last thing I remembered was my stepsister, Cathie, handing me a flute of champagne at the charity gala with a smile that didn't reach her eyes. Now, a tall, dangerously handsome man walked out of the bathroom with a towel around his hips. On the nightstand sat a stack of hundred-dollar bills. My stepmother had finally done it—she drugged me and staged a scandal with a hired escort to destroy my reputation and my future. "Aisha! Is it true you spent the night with a gigolo?" The shouts of a dozen reporters echoed through the heavy oak door as camera flashes exploded through the peephole. My phone lit up with messages showing my bank accounts were already frozen. My father was invoking the 'morality clause' in my mother’s trust fund, and my fiancĆ© had already released a statement dumping me to marry my stepsister instead. I was trapped, penniless, and being hunted by the press for a scandal I hadn't even participated in. My own family had sold me out for a payday, and the man standing in front of me was the only witness who could prove I was innocent—or finish me off for good. I didn't have time to cry. According to the fine print of the trust, I had thirty days to prove my "rehabilitation" through a legal marriage or I would lose everything. I tracked the man down to a coffee shop the next morning, watching him take a thick envelope of cash from a wealthy older woman. I sat across from him and slid a napkin with a $50,000 figure written on it. "I need a husband. Legal, paper-signed, and convincing." He looked at the number, then at me, a slow, crooked smile spreading across his face. I thought I was hiring a desperate gigolo to save my inheritance. I had no idea I was actually proposing to Dominic Fields, the reclusive billionaire shark who was currently planning a hostile takeover of my father’s entire empire.

I had just survived a private jet crash, my body a map of violet bruises and my lungs still burning from the smoke. I woke up in a sterile hospital room, gasping for my husband's name, only to realize I was completely alone. While I was bleeding in a ditch, my husband, Adam, was on the news smiling at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. When I tracked him down at the hospital's VIP wing, I didn't find a grieving husband. I found him tenderly cradling his ex-girlfriend, Casie, in his arms, his face lit with a protective warmth he had never shown me as he carried her into the maternity ward. The betrayal went deeper than I could have imagined. Adam admitted the affair started on our third anniversary-the night he claimed he was stuck in London for a merger. Back at the manor, his mother had already filled our planned nursery with pink boutique bags for Casie's "little princess." When I demanded a divorce, Adam didn't flinch. He sneered that I was "gutter trash" from a foster home and that I'd be begging on the streets within a week. To trap me, he froze my bank accounts, cancelled my flight, and even called the police to report me for "theft" of company property. I realized then that I wasn't his partner; I was a charity case he had plucked from obscurity to manage his life. To the Hortons, I was just a servant who happened to sleep in the master bedroom, a "resilient" woman meant to endure his abuse in silence while the whole world laughed at the joke that was my marriage. Adam thought stripping me of his money would make me crawl back to him. He was wrong. I walked into his executive suite during his biggest deal of the year and poured a mug of sludge over his original ten-million-dollar contracts. Then, right in front of his board and his mistress, I stripped off every designer thread he had ever paid for until I was standing in nothing but my own silk camisole. "You can keep the clothes, Adam. They're as hollow as you are." I grabbed my passport, turned my back on his billions, and walked out of that glass tower barefoot, bleeding, and finally free.

I sat on the edge of the examination table, the crinkle of the sanitary paper sounding like thunder in the sterile room. The doctor didn't even look at me as he confirmed the news: the pregnancy was over. My husband, Keyon, didn't answer my call. He just sent an automated text: "In a meeting." When I returned to our cold mansion, I found his iPad glowing with a message from his "muse," Katina. He was throwing her a secret gala tonight-on our third wedding anniversary. He told her he couldn't wait to escape the "boring" and "draining" atmosphere I created at home. Keyon didn't stumble in until 3 AM, smelling of Katina's perfume with a smear of red on his collar. When I handed him the divorce papers, he laughed in my face. He called me a "glorified housekeeper" with no skills and no future, promising I'd be back in three days begging for a subway ticket. He even bet his friends ten thousand dollars that I wouldn't survive a week without his name. He had his assistant cancel my credit cards and block my gate access before I even reached the end of the driveway. He wanted me to starve. He wanted me to crawl. He sat in his office, mocking the "desperate" woman who pawned her three-million-dollar wedding ring for scrap metal just to pay for a meal. I stood on the rainy curb, watching the man I had protected for three years treat my life like trash. He didn't know about the ultrasound I just threw in the bin. He didn't know that while he was calling me "dull," I was the one secretly writing the code that kept his billion-dollar empire from collapsing. As I slid into a cheap Uber, I opened a hidden, encrypted app on my phone. The screen refreshed to a dashboard for an account Keyon didn't know existed. The balance was ten figures long-the accumulated wealth of "Solaris," the world's most elusive tech genius. Keyon thinks he just evicted a parasite, but he's about to find out he just declared war on the only person who can hit "delete" on his entire life.
