Shotgun Wedding: Cold CEO Says He Loves Me Chapter 1 Pregnant Before Marriage

"He's such a bastard." Belle Bei hiccupped as she walked along the corridor in a daze, cursing someone. "My mother worked hard for it all her life. How could he just give it to that woman?

I hate them. I don't want to go back to that house anymore." She stopped in front of a room. Her drunkenness made it difficult for her to remember the number of her room. "1606. Ah, here it is. I can finally sleep well tonight."

Actually, her room number was 1609 and not 1606.

However, she didn't realize it at all. She fumbled for the room card, eager to enter the room. But to her surprise, the door was already opened.

The room was dark, filled with a sweet scent of wine.

A smile appeared on her beautiful face as she staggered towards the bed. She then kicked off her shoes and slumped against the soft mattress.

All of a sudden, a muscular arm reached out from the quilt and held her waist tightly.

"Hmm...that tickles." She giggled at the ticklish sensations.

"Hmm..." the man groaned. She held the man's face and studied his features. "You look so good."

The man smelled wine too. Obviously, he was also drunk. But the unique fragrance of her body that penetrated his nostrils seemed to have awakened his senses.

His long and narrow eyes shone brightly in the dark. His thins lips that were right under his turned-up nose curved into a smile.

In an instant, intimacy filled the room. But the man and Belle Bei were not aware that there were two men eavesdropping outside the room.

"Where did you get this woman?" asked one of the men in a very low voice.

"I don't know. I thought it was you who hired her," the other man answered.

"Of course not. So, if none of us hired her, who is that woman inside the room?"

The two men exchanged questioning glances. There was panic in their eyes. When they heard that the sound inside the room became more intense, they ran away in a hurry.

The next morning, Belle Bei woke up.

As soon as she opened her eyes, her head throbbed. She felt an inexplicable pain as if a drill was piercing through it.

"Ouch..." Her face twisted in pain. She squeezed her head between her two palms and pounded it with her fist a few times.

She struggled to sit up. Her fluffy hair covered her gaunt face that looked even worse because of her ruined makeup.

Suddenly, she felt that there was something heavy on her lap. When she lowered her head to check, she was stunned to see a muscular arm hugging her waist.

With eyes wide opened in shock, she turned her head to look at the side.

There, she saw a man sleeping soundly. Half of the quilt covered his lower body up until his waist.

"Ahhhhh!" She let out an ear-splitting scream as soon as she came back to her senses.

She then grabbed the quilt in panic, wrapped herself up, and stretched out her leg to kick the man beside her.

Harris Ning was kicked off the bed while still asleep.

He woke up in a daze.

"Ouch! Who the hell did that?" His hoarse voice sounded so sexy.

But the hint of annoyance was also very apparent.

Covering his forehead, he stood up and glared at the bed.

The moment his eyes met hers, they both froze. It took a while before they were able to react.

"Belle?"

"Harris?"

Seeing the man in front of her, despair and disbelief surged in her heart. She felt like her head was struck by lightning.

The Bei family and the Ning family were sworn enemies. Their feud started so many years ago. They couldn't even spare a glance at each other every time they met. So how could they sleep in the same bed for the whole night?

She clenched her fists and took a deep breath to calm herself down. She closed her eyes and tried to recall what really happened last night.

Then bit by bit, a few scenes flashed through her mind. She suddenly opened her eyes and stared at him, mouth agape.

"I'm surprised to know that you are so horny, Miss Bei," he taunted. "But let me tell you, I am not interested in you at all."

She calmed down and smiled. "Mr. Ning, don't you think you're funny? I don't even know why you are in my room. Is your family really broke now that you even have to sleep with different women to make money?"

She then grabbed her bag on the bedside table, took out a black card, and threw it to him.

"Let me tell you this, you are not good in bed. You need more practice," she added.

He clenched his teeth. What she said was an insult to his manhood. But when he caught sight of the bloodstain on the bed sheet, a smile crept across his face. "Well, I think it's your family who is going bankrupt. Since I have taken your virginity, I think I have to pay for it."

He then threw the black card back to her and threw his own black card to her. "Spend my money as much as you want."

"Obscene!" she yelled, gritting her teeth in rage. She then threw his card to the floor disgustedly, turned around, and put on her clothes.

He also put on his clothes. Since he was faster than her, he left the room first.

She cursed him in a low voice, then also walked out of the room.

"Why are you following me?" he asked coldly, standing in front of the elevator. "Do you want more money?"

"The members of the Ning family indeed look too highly of themselves," she sneered. "Just keep your money and find a woman you can buy."

This time, the elevator doors opened.

She pulled him back

and entered the elevator first.

She then raised her eyebrows, waved her hand, and said smugly, "Bye."

He frowned and turned his eyes away. He didn't want to see the complacent smile on her face.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, her face instantly darkened.

She lost her virginity to the man that she didn't even like.

A few minutes later, the two of them left the hotel one after another.

They both went in the opposite direction. So they didn't notice that a man standing at the corner outside the hotel was taking photos of them.

They had thought that they would never cross paths again. But after more than a month, Belle Bei found out that she was pregnant.

On our ninth anniversary, my husband Dominick didn't toast to us. Instead, he rested his hand on his mistress's pregnant belly in front of the entire crime family. I was just a debt payment to him, a ghost in a forty-thousand-dollar gown. But the humiliation didn't end in the ballroom. When his mistress, Chastity, started hemorrhaging later that night, he didn't call an ambulance. He dragged me to the family clinic. He knew I had a serious heart condition. He knew a transfusion of that magnitude could trigger a fatal cardiac event. "She is carrying my son," he said, his eyes devoid of any humanity. "You will give her whatever she needs." I begged him. I bargained for my freedom. He lied and agreed, just to get the needle in my arm. As my dark red blood flowed through the tube to save the woman destroying my life, my chest tightened. The monitors began to scream. My heart was failing. "Mr. Reyes! She's crashing!" the doctor shouted. Dominick didn't even turn around. He walked out of the room to hold Chastity's hand, leaving me to die on the table. I survived, but Annis Myers died in that clinic. He thought I would return to the penthouse and continue being his obedient, silent wife. He thought he owned the blood in my veins. He was wrong. I went back to the penthouse one last time. I struck a match. I let the room burn. By the time Dominick realized I wasn't in the ashes, I was already on a plane to London. I had left my wedding ring in an envelope, along with the medical records that proved his cruelty. He wanted a war? I would give him one.

I was the "Ice Queen," the perfect Mafia wife who managed the De Luca empire's millions while my husband, Alessandro, played the part of the feared Underboss. I thought my silence and competence earned me respect. That was until I woke up in the estate's medical bay with a shattered leg. My saddle had snapped mid-jump. It wasn't wear and tear; it was sabotage. Lying in the dark, feigning sleep, I heard Alessandro whispering outside my door with his enforcer. "The buckle was filed down," the enforcer said urgently. "Aria tampered with it. She could have broken her neck." I waited for Alessandro’s rage. I waited for him to execute the mistress who tried to kill his wife. Instead, his voice was cold and dismissive. "Bury it," Alessandro ordered. "It’s just a broken leg. Aria was upset about the credit cards. She just wanted to teach Katarina a lesson." A lesson. My husband wasn't just cheating on me; he was protecting the woman who tried to cripple me. Three days later, at the Family Charity Gala, he humiliated me publicly. He outbid me for my grandmother's heirloom necklace and clasped it around Aria's neck while I watched from my wheelchair. He thought I was broken. He thought I was just a piece of furniture to be rearranged. He didn't know I had bugged the entire villa while I was recovering. He didn't know I had the recordings of what Aria was really doing when he wasn't looking. I gripped the USB drive in my pocket and signaled the tech team to lock the doors. The statue was broken, but he was about to learn that shattered ice is sharp enough to slit a throat.

The heavy iron gates of the Wilderness Correction Camp groaned as they released me after three years of state-sponsored hell. I stood on the dirt road, clutching a plastic bag that held my entire life, waiting for the family that claimed they sent me there for "rehab." My brother, Brady, picked me up in a luxury SUV only to throw me out onto a deserted highway in the middle of a brewing storm. He told me I was a "public relations nightmare" and that the rain might finally wash the "stink" of the camp off me. He drove away, leaving me to limp miles through the mud on a snapped ankle. When I finally dragged myself to our family estate, my mother didn't offer a hug; she gasped in horror because my muddy clothes were ruining her Italian marble. They didn't give me my old room back. Instead, they banished me to a moldy gardener’s shack and hired a "babysitter" to make sure I didn't embarrass them further. My sister, Kaleigh, stood there in white cashmere, pretending to cry while clinging to her fiancé, Ambrose—the man who had once been mine. They all treated me like a volatile junkie, refusing to acknowledge that Kaleigh was the one who planted the drugs in my bag three years ago. They wanted to believe I was broken so they wouldn't have to feel guilty about the "wellness retreat" that was actually a torture chamber. I sat in the dark of that shed, feeling the cooling gel on the cigarette burns that covered my arms, and realized they had made a fatal mistake. They thought they had erased me, but I had returned with a roadmap of scars and a hidden satellite phone. At dinner, I didn't beg for their love. I simply rolled up my sleeves and showed them the price of their silence. As the wine spilled and the lies crumbled, I sent a single text to the only person I trusted: "I'm in. Let them simmer." The hunt was finally on.

I spent four hours preparing a five-course meal for our fifth anniversary. When Jackson finally walked into the penthouse an hour late, he didn't even look at the table. He just dropped a thick Manila envelope in front of me and told me he was done. He said his stepsister, Davida, was getting worse and needed "stability." I wasn't his wife; I was a placeholder, a temporary fix he used until the woman he actually loved was ready to take my place. Jackson didn't just want a divorce; he wanted to erase me. He called me a "proprietary asset," claiming that every design I had created to save his empire belonged to him. He froze my bank accounts, cut off my phone, and told me I’d be nothing without his name. Davida even called me from her hospital bed to flaunt the family heirloom ring Jackson claimed was lost, mocking me for being "baggage" that was finally being cleared out. I stood in our empty home, realizing I had spent five years being a martyr for a man who saw me as a transaction. I couldn't understand how he could be so blind to the monster he was protecting, or how he could discard me so coldly after I had given him everything. I grabbed my hidden sketchbook, shredded our wedding portrait, and walked out into the rain. I dialed a number I hadn't touched in years—a dangerous man known as The Surgeon who dealt in debts and shadows. I told him I was ready to pay his price. Jackson and Davida wanted to steal my identity, but I was about to show the world the literal scars they had left behind.

I stood at my mother’s open grave in the freezing rain, my heels sinking into the mud. The space beside me was empty. My husband, Hilliard Holloway, had promised to cherish me in bad times, but apparently, burying my mother didn't fit into his busy schedule. While the priest’s voice droned on, a news alert lit up my phone. It was a livestream of the Metropolitan Charity Gala. There was Hilliard, looking impeccable in a custom tuxedo, with his ex-girlfriend Charla English draped over his arm. The headline read: "Holloway & English: A Power Couple Reunited?" When he finally returned to our penthouse at 2 AM, he didn't come alone—he brought Charla with him. He claimed she’d had a "medical emergency" at the gala and couldn't be left alone. I found a Tiffany diamond necklace on our coffee table meant for her birthday, and a smudge of her signature red lipstick on his collar. When I confronted him, he simply told me to stop being "hysterical" and "acting like a child." He had no idea I was seven months pregnant with his child. He thought so little of my grief that he didn't even bother to craft a convincing lie, laughing with his mistress in our home while I sat in the dark with a shattered heart and a secret life growing inside me. "He doesn't deserve us," I whispered to the darkness. I didn't scream or beg. I simply left a folder on his desk containing signed divorce papers and a forged medical report for a terminated pregnancy. I disappeared into the night, letting him believe he had successfully killed his own legacy through his neglect. Five years later, Hilliard walked into "The Vault," the city's most exclusive underground auction, looking for a broker to manage his estate. He didn't recognize me behind my Venetian mask, but he couldn't ignore the neon pink graffiti on his armored Maybach that read "DEADBEAT." He had no clue that the three brilliant triplets currently hacking his security system were the very children he thought had been erased years ago. This time, I wasn't just a wife in the way; I was the one holding all the cards.
