On the night of their third wedding anniversary, Ashley was ready to reveal a secret to her husband- She was pregnant. But moments after their passionate intimacy, her Alpha coldly delivered the blow-he wanted a divorce. His fated mate had returned. Stripped of her wolf spirit, abandoned by the pack, and carrying his child, Ashley was cast aside like a disposable Omega. Just as she prepared to leave alone- The boy she had once rejected had now risen as the most formidable Alpha King. The possessive hunger in his gaze sent shivers through her-did she dare face him? Was this vengeance, or something more? But did she even have a choice?
"Do you want me, Ashley?"
I gripped the edge of the bed tightly as my husband held my waist, thrusting even deeper inside me. Waves of electric, tingling pleasure instantly spread throughout my entire body.
I opened my mouth and moaned in satisfaction. "It feels so good..."
"Baby, my turn now." Brian let out a low chuckle and picked up the pace. I lost all strength, letting him pound into me relentlessly.
After what felt like an eternity, Brian finally let out a satisfied roar. His strong body pressed down on mine, our bodies still connected.
I reached out, wanting to embrace him, but he quickly rolled off me and sat on the edge of the bed, running his fingers through his messy hair. I stared at his side profile - a face so handsome it looked like a masterpiece carefully sculpted by the gods. Every angle was flawless, especially that sharp, square jaw. He was like a living David statue. And somehow, this perfect man was mine.
He was handsome, powerful, righteous, and the Alpha of one of the strongest packs on the East Coast - the Blackwood Pack. I was just an Omega who had lost her own pack.
He had always treated me well - gentle and respectful, never embarrassing me in front of the pack. But I could always feel it. Behind the intense sex and polite care, there was an invisible wall between us. Our marriage had been built on a political alliance. For three years, while our bodies were perfectly compatible, I could never truly touch the deepest part of his heart.
And the one issue that had always haunted me only made that distance more painful - I had never gotten pregnant. The pack's voices questioning my inability to bear an Alpha heir had grown louder and louder. I had gone to the hospital for multiple checkups. My best friend, a wolf doctor, told me it was just due to stress and that my body was perfectly healthy. But I couldn't explain that to the pack. Even though Brian never blamed me, the guilt only grew heavier.
But tonight, everything would change. Half a month ago, I had found out I was pregnant.
I secretly stroked my still-flat belly. Tonight was our third wedding anniversary. I had deliberately chosen this night to tell him the secret.
I bet Brian would genuinely accept me... and finally fall in love with me.
"Brian," I called softly, my voice still hoarse from pleasure.
"Ashley, we need to talk." Brian interrupted me and pulled out abruptly, leaving my body feeling painfully empty.
"What's wrong?" I asked with a smile, trying to ignore the sudden chill that filled the air.
Brian sat up and grabbed his robe from the floor, draping it over himself. "Let's get a divorce," he said calmly.
It felt like all the oxygen had been sucked out of the room. My mind buzzed. I trembled as I asked, "What are you saying?"
"Silvia is back." Brian's voice was deep.
That name hit me like a bullet, shattering every last bit of hope I had. Silvia - his former Beta's daughter, and his fated mate. They were supposed to have their bonding ceremony.
But tragedy struck. Silvia had been badly injured protecting Brian from rogue wolves - her heart was severely damaged. Brian never gave up on bonding with her, but then she suddenly disappeared.
Three years had passed without any word from her. I had almost forgotten she existed.
I bit my lip hard to stop it from trembling.
Brian glanced at me and continued, "Her wolf spirit was badly damaged in that attack, so she went into hiding to heal. The healers told her..." Guilt flashed in his eyes. "She only has six months left to live."
I froze. For werewolves, a damaged wolf spirit didn't just mean loss of power - it meant a slow, inevitable death.
"I'm so sorry," I said sincerely. "We can take care of her together. We'll find the best healers and shamans..."
"No need!" Brian interrupted me harshly. "She has only one last wish." He paused, hesitation flickering across his face before he steeled himself. "She wants to be my wife for the last six months of her life."
"What?" Tears finally welled up as I stared at his cold, determined expression. "This is insane... Brian, I'm your wife. And I'm already-"
"Ashley, the title of Luna was always meant for Silvia." Brian cut me off before I could tell him the truth, his patience clearly gone. "I really hope you can support me on this."
"Are you sure you want to do this?" I touched my stomach and looked at him, making one last desperate effort. I didn't want my child to be born without a father. "Are you sure you won't regret it?"
In werewolf society, illegitimate children always faced discrimination. But Brian misunderstood me.
His gaze grew even colder. "You disappoint me so much, Ashley! I know exactly what you're worried about - you have no pack to protect you, so you're afraid of losing your luxurious lifestyle. I can give you an unlimited black card right now. If you can't even show this much compassion, then you're truly beyond saving. You're cold, selfish, and unreasonable. You don't deserve any love."
As if the wound in my heart wasn't deep enough, Brian delivered the final blow: "This is exactly why your father died - because he had a weak, incompetent, and selfish daughter like you. You couldn't provide him with any protection, so he had to face the rogue wolves alone."
My mind went completely blank. How could he say something like that? My father was killed by rogue wolves. He knew I had nearly broken down after my father's death. It was Brian who had suddenly appeared, taken me in, and brought me to the Blackwood Pack.
Back then, he had held me and said, "You will be my Luna. The Luna of one of the strongest packs on the East Coast. No one will ever bully you again."
I had looked at his handsome face and sharp jaw, feeling like I had finally found a reason to keep living.
Now, even the last trace of his gentleness was gone. The love I had fantasized about had never existed. All the air in my lungs was sucked away in an instant.
"I agree to the divorce," I heard my own voice, terrifyingly calm. "No, I want to reject your mark." Only by fully rejecting the mark could two werewolves truly separate.
Fury instantly ignited in Brian's eyes. "Enough! Are you trying to use the mark rejection to guilt-trip me? I won't let you succeed. This is my final decision."
At that moment, Brian's phone on the nightstand rang - a special ringtone. It was Silvia's.
Brian answered immediately. The ferocious expression on his face instantly softened into a gentleness I had never seen before.
After hanging up, his face turned cold again. "Silvia said she'll stay in the guest room of the Alpha Estate. She won't force you out, and I won't bring her into the master bedroom."
"See? You'll never compare to Silvia." Brian said with disgust, then strode out of the room.
I could no longer hold myself up. I slid down the cold cabinet door and collapsed onto the floor.
How ironic. I had thought tonight would be the turning point where Brian finally fell in love with me. Instead, it became the most humiliating moment of my life.
Tears flowed down again. My heart felt shattered into a million pieces. I trembled all over as my hand instinctively moved to cover my abdomen. There was a little life growing inside me. I remembered what my best friend had said at the hospital: "Ashley, you don't have a wolf spirit. Emotional fluctuations can affect the safety of the fetus."
I couldn't break down. And I would not accept Brian's ridiculous request. I should actually thank him for his "thoughtfulness." A packless Omega was basically announcing her own death. That was exactly why Brian dared to do this - he believed I wouldn't have the courage to truly reject him.
When I was at my most desperate, a familiar deep growl echoed in my mind: "Ashley, remember this - no matter how willful you are, you will always have me."
No! I couldn't make a deal with the devil.
The divorce process would take thirty days. One month was enough time for me to figure out my next move.
My phone vibrated. It was Brian.
"Be at the pack council hall at 9 a.m. sharp tomorrow to handle the divorce procedures."
