The Last Chess Game
Adventure Retired chess grandmaster Victor Langley, once considered the greatest strategist of his time, has lived in quiet isolation for over a decade after his sudden retirement. One evening, an invitation arrives-an elegant envelope with no return address, containing a single line:
"Your final game awaits. Midnight. Blackwood Manor."
Curious yet wary, Victor travels to the secluded estate, where he finds six other grandmasters, each legends in their own right, waiting at a long table. The host remains unseen, but a grand chessboard sits before them, each piece set in an unfinished game from their pasts-games they had lost or abandoned.
As the night unfolds, it becomes clear that this is no ordinary chess match. One by one, players begin disappearing-and each move on the board seems to dictate their fate. The game is not just about winning; it's about survival. And Victor realizes that someone among them is not who they claim to be.

Mr. Ben Having some of the poems in the first edition of the poem collection, ‘The P.O.T (Poured Out Thoughts)’ published in several poetry magazines as High On Poems, Earthborne Magazine, Deadsnakes and so on, the author has ushered in the second, titled ‘The P.O.T (Poured Out Thoughts) ---The Reloaded.
It is said to be ‘reloaded’ because there are other poems to be added to make this edition slightly richer than the first. With poems as ‘Out of the Box’, ‘Dad Loves Me’, ‘Heralding God’s Magnificence’ being published in notable poetry journals and magazines, the sequel is hoped to make an impact to the entire world, beginning with the readers.
The Table of Contents has the additional poems that readers, who have read the first edition, would realize. They are intended to look into general issues, family, gender, parental, religious (Christian faith), children, love and personal/motivational.
The aim behind this piece is simple. As said in the first edition, it is about entertaining, enlightening, inspiring or motivating and enabling people think for themselves.
Worthy of Note: The author believes that subsequent edition(s) of the work would carry the above-stated aim.
The Redemption of an Empire
TND PLUME The wind whistled through the skyscrapers of Manhattan, creating an eerie symphony. At the top of one of the tallest buildings, the lights of an office remained on, defying the darkness of the night. Alex stared at the horizon, his mind in a storm of thoughts. Everything he had built, everything he had sacrificed for, seemed to crumble before his eyes. At his side, Emma, with an equally determined look, felt the weight of their fight. Their family business, once a powerful empire, was now on the brink of collapse.
The events of the last few months had been a real ordeal. The discovery of his father's criminal activities had shocked Alex. He found himself faced with a heartbreaking dilemma: protect the family heirloom or expose the truth to save his soul. Emma, his partner and unwavering support, had chosen to stand by his side, ready to face the consequences of their actions.
That evening, they stood together, their minds working in harmony to find a solution. The past had caught up with them, but they were determined to write a different future. Their business was not only a symbol of power and wealth, it was the fruit of their dreams and aspirations. They knew that to save her, they would have to navigate even murkier waters, face more formidable enemies, and above all, trust each other.
As the first light of dawn began to appear on the horizon, Emma turned to Alex. "We've overcome so much together. We can't give up now. It's time to fight back, to show everyone that we are stronger than ever."
Alex nodded, a new fire in his eyes. "You're right. We're going to fight for what's right, for our future. And we're not going to let anyone stop us."
Their fight was far from over. This was only the beginning of a new battle, a battle for truth, justice and redemption. Together, they would rebuild their empire, brick by brick, and prove to the world that nothing and no one could break them.
