The Ruined: Memories Of Alix
Others Alix Smith is a resilient woman. She is new on campus, intending to fight for her inheritance once she comes of age from her greedy uncle and father to her cousin Laura Smith whom she believes dislikes her just like her father. But all became a nightmare when an incident occurred that threatened to ruin her life forever. Molested and raped, she fought for sanity to overcome the tragedy that plagued her with the help of her lover Asher Quill who is a brother to her good friend and a victim of occult molestation Marvin Quill. Finding her incident a conspiracy of a bigger plot, Alix sought out what happened to her and other victims she might have missed.
Asher Quill is a passionate art curator and the youngest professor at the university Alix got into. Plagued with the burden of his twin sister who was molested, Asher sought solace in the arms of a kind Alix who went out of her way to help his sister despite his inhibitions about her.
And when the thing that made his sister go senile happened to the woman he fell in love with... Asher became torn between trying to balance his life and seeking confirmation from the strong and cold Alix who looks like she doesn't need him anymore.
*Excerpt*
Who! she asked in a defiant authoritative tone. If you think I am going to fall for the same trick twice Katherine Blaze, you are sorely mistaken.
Now, I will ask again, who slipped the drug into my cup. Katherine cower in fear... Alix looks terrifying from what she'd know of her.
This wasn't the woman she had painstakingly planned to overcome by having the men prod her but the woman came out stronger than before.
She had been an informant for the cults for a long time and Alix had been on their nerves since the time she decided to take an interest in Marvin's case but that wasn't all Katherine knew there was a deeper meaning to what was done to her that night but she couldn't tell.
No, she couldn't. Alix might put her in jail but those people could kill her even if she lived under the ground after she spills the beans.
You don't know what you are after here Alix, she muffled painfully."It will be better for us all if you just let go of the past and move on"... Look at you, she scorned now, you are up and fit.
You looked brand new like nothing happened to you but typical Alix couldn't just let go. "You had to go and run your mouth and you got yourself dipped now you are courting more than what you can handle"
Alix smiled coldly at her scornful words, then slowly she moved towards her. A smile playing on her lips, she picked a rod she had put in a burning fire and pressed it on her forearm.
Her eyes levelled against her, "I will ask you one last time, or else that will be your eyes next, who asked you to do it?
Crystal... Katherine screamed out in pain... There is more to fear than death. The cult might kill her but the look in Alix's eyes stated her death will not be pleasantly done.
That wasn't so hard now, was it Alix chimed disdainfully. Ash, Alix called out her lover. Let's go visit my dear friend, shall we?
Ah... Yes, love, Ash responded in a daze... Let's get her.

On Nature’s Renewal
سعدية عبد Here are short Islamic poems meant to inspire people and connect them with Allah:
Poem 1: On Allah's Power
When the fire burns in the forest, its destruction brings forth new growth.
When the rain falls from the heavens, its waters quench the dry ground.
When the plants grow from the Earth, their fruits feed the hungry.
Like the fire, Allah makes everything new.
Like the rain, Allah restores the Earth.
Like the plants, Allah provides rizq for His creation.
Fire will blaze, and water will flow, and plants will grow,
and in these things, you will witness Allah and his boundless generosity.
Allah is all-bountiful and all-knowing and showers mercy on his believers. "Through the Family Lens"
