I have a twenty-four filial piety boyfriend. When we broke up, I couldn't bear to hurt his feelings, so I lied and told him that I had seen through the worldly ties and decided to become a nun. Years later, he not only became a powerful CEO but also became my suitor. Dressed in a formal suit, with a piercing gaze, he pinched my chin and said, "Oh, the little nun has returned to the secular world?"

Chapter 1

Years ago, during a game of Truth or Dare, popular at parties, I confessed my feelings to the most popular guy in school.

Unexpectedly, he actually consented and became my boyfriend. He was simply a flawless man, treating me with total dedication and constantly prioritizing me.

But liking someone wasn't something one could force.

When I broke up with him, I couldn't bear to hurt his feelings, so I lied to him and said that I had seen through the worldly desires and was determined to become a nun.

Years later, he had not only become a successful CEO but also became the date partner arranged for me by my mother.

Dressed in a sharp suit, his gaze was intense as he gently lifted my chin and said, "Well, the little nun has returned to the secular world?"

I was brought here with my body tied by a rope, and this was not the slightest exaggeration. At the restaurant, my mom finally threw the rope I was tied with into the trash can, putting an end to its iniquitous existence.

As for the reason why I had no intention of dating the man arranged for me by my mother, it was because I merely wished to have dates with every handsome man. Simply put, I was a bit of a flirt.

I sat down in the private room, looking down at my phone without lifting my head, and I didn't notice when Mrs. Anderson had already taken a seat beside me.

She looked elegant and gently took my hand.

"Evelina, right? Such a pretty girl, you must have dated quite a few boyfriends?"

Wow, she was already digging into my personal life before the food even arrived.

Who knew my mom would quickly answer, "Not a single one."

I recalled the humiliation of being bound and forced here, and said resentfully, "I have had quite a few relationships, and the number of people with whom I had ambiguous interactions could stretch from here to Qaflines."

My mom's hand smacked me hard under the table, making me wince in pain.

But I was just telling it like it was.

Mrs. Anderson still smiled warmly, "A girl needs to date a few before she can determine which type is truly suitable for herself. Are you good at her studies? How are your education, Evelina?"

My mom confidently replied, "She graduated from a renowned university, namely Astrana University."

I added, "From an ordinary university adjacent to Astrana University."

Mrs. Anderson enthusiastically took my hand again, "I'm afraid that a high achiever with a strong career ambition may not be able to prioritize family, but Evelina is just perfect for me. By the way, where do you work, Evelina? How about your career-related savings?"

I gave my mom a look, wondering why she wasn't answering this time.

"I'm in debt from opening a dessert shop, haven't made a penny, and am still paying off the debt."

After saying that, I got another smack from my mom.

Mrs. Anderson pursed her lips, holding back laughter, "With such a straightforward social life, it would be so worry-free to have her as a daughter-in-law."

Why did she speak as if I were definitely going to marry with her son? Wasn't she afraid that I might be after her money?

"Evelina is so pretty, has she had any work done?"

My mom hurriedly replied, "Of course not, she's all-natural."

I propped my chin on my hand, leaning on the table, "I've had work done on my eyelids, nose, everywhere. I go for cosmetic treatments like fillers and laser sessions a few times a month, just to keep my face from sagging."

I just wanted to go against my mother.

Unexpectedly, Mrs. Anderson became even more enthusiastic, her smile blooming brightly, "Such an honest girl, I love cosmetic treatments too. Once you're married with Caiden, we can go together. Evelina is just perfect for Caiden. If you two get along, it would be advisable to get married first."

I was dumbfounded, my eyes widened in disbelief. Did she just say Caiden?

It couldn't possibly be the Caiden I lied to about becoming a nun, could it?

Mrs. Anderson turned and waved someone over, and I instinctively turned to look.

Caiden Anderson, in a perfectly tailored suit, was talking to a waiter, but his eyes were locked onto me.

Had he heard everything?

I inhaled deeply in a state of tension, and even refrained from exhaling.

It would be a while before the food arrived, and Mrs. Anderson, pulling my mom along, left us alone, ignoring my desperate pleas for them to stay.

My forehead was sweating, and my brow twitched.

Caiden, with his jaw clenched, one hand in his pocket, walked over with a sinister air, "Didn't you say you had renounced worldly desires?"

Sitting in my chair, I nervously swallowed the sip of water I had just taken, "Well, I said I merely no longer wish to be a nun. Would you believe it?"

He looked down at me, his gaze sharp, gently lifting my chin, "Well, the little nun still has mundane desires?"

I nodded slowly, my heart pounding, and managed a timid "yes."

The veins on his forehead bulged, yet he chuckled softly.

"You said the number of people with whom you had ambiguous interactions could stretch from here to Qaflines. A nun having ambiguous interactions with others?"

My expression was on the verge of tears, "Yes, is that not permissible? Now, please let go..."

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
