Hellfire felt like fireworks to Enzo Dhakkars, when Valentina daringly grabbed his collars amid the street. Unafraid of the long haired tattooed man, having no idea what her dead brother owed to him. Stripped from her position as the Moreno princess, auctioned to the market for elites; Valentina gets bought. While being betrothed to a rival clan's daughter, Enzo buys Valentina as his entertaining little pet. Offering Enzo a seat on the table, Valentina decided what she wanted on her menu!
"Shut the fuck up! Do not even think about my sister!" Luke yelled at him while sensing what he meant in the underlying words. While the scarred man chucked at the response which made Luke even more angrier. "Oh my goodness! Sister? Haha! Never knew Lord Hayden had a daughter too. That sneaky bastard!"
Hearing the way they addressed her father, Valentina immediately knew something was indeed wrong. She turned her head towards Luke while asking in disbelief. "What? What are they saying? And why are they addressing you like that? Tell me what the hell is happening?"
Luke knew the truth was almost out of the sack now and he needed to get out of the situation as soon as possible. "Nothing, Val. They are probably mistaken. Stay calm!" The lousy explanation made him appear like a liar, when Valentina stepped back from her brother. She knew there was more to what the eyes met.
It was the moment when the door of a posh vehicle opened behind the mob. A tall and buff man appeared from it and walked towards them. The henchmen scattered in two different rows and gave him way. Valentina understood the gravity of the situation but now trusting anyone was hard, not even her own brother.
The mafia don, Lord Enzo Dhakkars, stepped forward, his confident swagger matching his impeccable maroon suit. His soul piercing eyes narrowed as they settled on Luke. Who stood there sensing the tension of the atmosphere with a calm expression. Meanwhile Valentina was a few steps away standing like a scared rabbit.
"Ah, Luke!" Enzo called out as he lit a cigar with a nonchalant gaze, his voice dripping with mocking sympathy. "There you are, my old friend. I was starting to think you might have forgotten our little arrangement." After he smoked a puff in the air, Enzo's gaze fell upon Valentina as he raised his one eyebrow with curiosity.
Meanwhile, she had no clue about being stuck between two mafia clans in the middle of the street. But the tense atmosphere and the way people of Milan avoided helping, she knew that man was not ordinary. Though for some reason she felt herself drawn towards that tattooed man with long hair. Lord Enzo had snagged her attention with his bad boy aura and playboy looks.
Luke straightened up with his emergence, his jaw tight as he met Enzo's gaze. "I haven't forgotten, Lord Enzo. But as I mentioned earlier, I will try my best to convince my father to give up his position as the debt. It is not easy as it seems, he is a stubborn old man. Please, give me some time."
Enzo chuckled like a mad man which made Valentina come out of her fantasy. He took a step closer without any weapon, daringly and boldly close enough, with a taunting smile. "Good, good. Because you see, I have been doing some thinking." Valentina saw the don completely ignoring her presence which relieved her that maybe she would not get hurt.
"Maybe you should have taken up my offer to settle your debt by making him sign those papers sooner. Now, it seems you don't want to settle your debt and for that you will have to face the consequences." As the both men taked, it dawned upon her that things back home were not simple. Her family owed some kind of money to that man called Enzo and probably had no way to pack him back.
Luke's hands clenched into fists, his eyes flashing with a mix of anger and frustration. "I told you Lord Enzo, I just require some time to make the old man sign those papers. It is not like I am going to double cross you or do anything which will put my life in jeopardy. Please, understand my situation too."
Enzo's smile widened a bit which appeared creepy, his amusement was evident. "Ah, the classic excuse of honour and pride for that scum, right? Well, Luke, pride doesn't bring the pass to live, does it?" Luke's nostrils flared as he fought to keep his emotions in check. He knew the consequences of going against Enzo Dhakkars.
He did not get a chance to speak when a loud sound made everyone gasp in shock. Valentina couldn't figure out for a few seconds what had actually happened. It was until Luke's body fell on the ground with a thud sound with a bullet in the middle of his forehead. Her frightened eyes travelled towards Enzo, who stood there with a gun in his hand.
"Luke!" Valentina lunged towards him while staggering as she slumped on the floor. Lifting his head up and placing it in her lap, her tears continued to flow from her eyes nonstop. "No, no! Luke!" She tapped his cheek while Luke's wide opened lifeless eyes stared back at her.
"What did you do? You asshole!" She shouted at Enzo with no idea who he was and what horrible things he could do to her. However, for some reason Valentina completely forgot how the situation was scary for her which turned into a mourning one. The woman shot up from the ground and leaped towards lord Enzo with rage.
"Why? Why did you do that?" She reached for his collars boldly which made Enzo stunned for a moment. How dare a woman bluntly ridicule him like that!? "You asshole!" Valentina smashed her fists on his chest, while Enzo stared in her crying eyes and something froze him.
"Why? Why did you do that?" Her lush lips, pointy nose and crying eyes filled with rage. It was when he grabbed Valentina's wrist when she was about to slap him. Enzo felt as if the time froze when he saw her lips trembling but no fear in her eyes. It did not take him longer to grab his senses back as he pushed her away. Though lord Enzo made sure she would not get hurt. Odd for him to do that.
